'That was one of the Infected?!'
Due to how much the guide was, Max hadn't finished them yet. He only read the important parts, such as shelter and defense building as well as what kind of loot was important. In short, he focused on survival tutorials.
Enemies' information was something he skipped when he read the guide, as he wanted some excitement about discovering something new.
"A freaking huge head with 8 legs? Does he plan to imitate a spider? Who the heck designed that Infected?"
— The design team, obviously
— A psycho
— A genius
— I like the design though. It's... innovative
— Innovative your 4$$! That's creepy!
— But that fit this game's design pretty well.
Max wondered what he should do. From what he saw earlier, there was nothing inside. Mainly, it was because the Crawler grabbed his attention. Not only that, there were webs filling the room. Entering without proper tools and equipment might be bad.
"The Infected seem to stay inside. Is Crawler the type to stay in his territory?"
From the fact it didn't chase after him, the creepy spider might be that type. In that case, it was easy.
"Let's ignore it and continue our exploration!" He exclaimed with a big smile as he walked away from the door, proceeding deeper into the hospital.
— Chicken
— Chicken Breeze
— He's running away, what a coward.
— And you were about to teach a girl how to play this game, lololol
"Dude, I am not running away. Since the start, my goal has been to look at this hospital and find herbs or antidotes. It's called a tactical retreat, okay?"
— Yeah yeah
— Whatever
— lololol, just be honest that you're afraid of that spider
The chat mocked him for not dealing with the Crawler, but Max ignored them. He thought there would be no benefit in killing that Infected besides wasting his bullets and stamina.
The hospital exploration was going smoothly. He only met a few zombies that he could kill with a knife. But because this area wasn't a heavy loot area, there were only 5 loots that he could find. 2 of them were herbs, and the rest was an antidote.
"The devs are so stingy." He grumbled as he exited the hospital. "I hope they increase the loot chance."
While passing by the first door, he made sure to be quiet so as not to rouse the Crawler. That Infected's creepy appearance was still fresh in his mind.
— I am surprised that your luck has become normal again
— 2 herbs and 3 antidotes. That's a good loot
— No Scraps?! What a shame!
He got off the hard bed and stretched his arms.
"The bed is so hard that I don't want to sleep on it again. Let's aim for level 2 shelter today."
— With your luck? I guess that's impossible
— Kekeke, hard bed is good for back
— Level 2 shelter sounds good.
"Right?" Max raised his eyebrows, "But before that, let's greet our guest! Give her a warm welcome, alright? I will share my chat window with her!"
— Finally!
— Who could it be? I am excited!
— Thump! Thump! A girl...
— Haa... Haa... This is rare!
Operating the screen, Max found the invitation menu. He had added Lily's VR account as friends back when they were in the program together. Not only her but also everyone else, including even MadLad.
So inviting her was easy.
"And sent." He grinned as a figure covered in blue light appeared beside him.
'That's fast.' He thought as he looked at her.
The blue light slowly dissipated, revealing the girl's figure covered in black combat clothes, holding a long sniper rifle and a machete hung over her back inside her pink backpack.
Her long black hair was tied in a ponytail, and she wore a mask on her lower face.
A pair of obsidian black eyes looked around her surroundings before stopping at her target, Max. She nodded softly at him.
"Hel–"
Before she even finished his sentence, Max had already bowed deeply at her.
"I am in your care, Master!"
The girl, Lily, blinked repeatedly in confusion as the chat broke into laughter.
— Teach her, he said
— Isn't it the other way around?
— Holy hell, she is fully equipped!
— LilyPixel is here!! Damn! His guest is the LilyPixel guys!!
— They actually have a collaboration a day after the program? Way to go, my son!
— KEKW, imagine the embarrassment. "It's a girl. And she asked me to teach her about this game." hahahahaha! Oh god, too funny!
— "I AM IN YOUR CARE, MASTER!" He said. Lolol! Breeze, you have met your match!
'Shut up!' Max shouted in his mind, trying to calm himself from embarrassment.
