The footsteps were light and fast, circling around them. Both Max and Lily raised their guards immediately.
— That sound...
— Could it be?!
— This... This is bad, isn't it? Not for Breeze, but for LilyPixel!
It echoed louder and louder as if it was approaching them. The way it moved was as if it wasn't even scared and considered them as mere prey.
Crash! Bam! Thud!
Various sounds of boxes and metal knocked over followed suit. A cloud of dust was kicked high in the air, allowing them to know where the enemy was coming from. It was from the direction of the exit, and both of them pointed their guns toward it.
A few seconds later, it made its appearance. Having a long, decayed body, its head was that of a human. From what Max could see, this enemy easily reached more than 10 meters long.
Many tiny legs grew from him, like a centipede. Its eyes were bloodshot, shining in the darkness of the warehouse. His mouth opened from four sides, revealing rows of sharp teeth.
Its hands weren't that of a human but a sharp sickle that seemed to be able to cut anything.
They shone their flashlights against the new emerging enemies.
"KSAAA!!"
Bang!
Just as the enemy hissed intimidatingly, Lily released a shot from her Remington and created a deafening sound. The recoil pushed her back and made her stumble, but the bullet flew straight toward its head at an unbelievable speed.
It destroyed the centipede-like, Infected head and created a large hole in it. Its body slowly crumbled and fell into the ground in a large chunk.
Thud thud thud!
Max, who was prepared for a large and prolonged battle, stood there motionlessly. He slowly looked at Lily, who killed the Infected. A dark smoke rose from Remington's muzzle.
She blinked a few times and looked back at Max.
"The enemy is so weak." She said expressionlessly.
'No, your weapon is just too strong!'
— As expected from an overgeared newbie
— Her ignorant expression is still cute
— "Come out, you coward! I know you're there!" *Bam!!* *Proceed to stand still and look at his partner*
— Breeze has no time to shine again. How sad
"Breeze?" Lily called out and tilted her head, "We can leave now, right? The night will arrive soon."
"Ah, yeah." Max nodded and decided not to think about it too much, "Let's bring the loot to the base and find more places to rob– I mean to loot."
— Is Breezy going down? Will it be a Breeze x LilyPixel pair. Brexel?
— I think Zexel sounds better!
Naturally, there were also viewers who liked to pair their favorite streamers with the others. It was no longer surprising.
"Are you going to play this game again tomorrow?" Lily asked curiously, looking up at Max's face.
"That's the plan," He responded, "I want to build my shelter to level 10. Well, I might stream different games in the near future, but I will keep playing this game. It's fun."
'I need to answer Mr. Taka and test that new game he talks about if I take the contract. I haven't decided yet what to do and need to consult with someone first.'
Being a variety streamer, he could stream anything he wanted. The fact his viewers from the Knight's Journey still followed him to this new game was enough to boost his confidence.
Expecting a decrease in viewers when he hopped into a new game would also be natural. He had long known that only a few percent of viewers would watch him without caring what kind of content he livestreamed.
"I see."
Lily sounded a little happy at his answer. Her smile widened slightly.
"Can we play together again tomorrow? Teach me about beginner equipment. I want to learn more, but... I can't go online for a long time. I am not used to this yet, so I will play around in the Lobby to practice."
Max understood what she was talking about. He had the same problem, though he brute forced it by making his body compatible with his mind and could handle more strenuous activity.
Having higher SR didn't necessarily mean good either. It also took them practice to be good at the game.
"Alright, see you tomorrow! I had fun playing with you too."
"Un, see you tomorrow."
After saying goodbye, Lily logged out from the game. Her character disappeared in a blue light.
Sighing, he put his hands on his hips.
"Well, that was a short play together." He said to the chat. "Should I play more, chat? I feel like I can continue a little bit longer."
— Sure!
— Make sure you get a level 2 shelter before she returns! That way you can have 2 beds!
— Don't ever let her log out while you sleep tomorrow! That's just rude.
— Oooh? Breeze is streaming for more than 2 hours. How rare
