Chapter 129: Chapter 129 – First Heist

There was one rule that the thieves had to follow in this game. As much as possible, they should remain unseen and steal the target. Only then could they allow themselves to be seen and run to their escape vehicle.

The building they had to steal from held a party, and Sea Ring was one of the jewelry the host had in their office. To steal it stealthily, they needed a key that the host had and entered the office secretly.

But there was one problem. The police players would try to arrest the thieves, and they could do it even before they stole the target. They were limited to handcuffs, but that was still a hindrance nonetheless.

Max used the special communication between thieves while moving through the party indoors as a waiter. The others were disguised as guests and were in a different area than him.

Because all the thieves were new to the game, he guessed the same case applied to the police. So even if he made a strange movement, he hoped the police wouldn't catch him.

Walking toward the second floor, Max suddenly noticed two lights in the indoor party room. They morphed into a security guard who looked oblivious and looked around curiously. At just a glance, he knew they were the enemy players.

Just after he finished giving instructions, a huge commotion came from outside. Otter had already made her move.

Hearing that, Max walked faster.

As soon as he arrived on the second floor, he was able to see a masked person waiting for him near the office. That particular person was about to flee the scene, as being seen in the masked state by an NPC could raise the alarm.

However, before he could do that, Max stopped him.

"It's me, carmetwo." He called out, causing the other party to stop and look at him. "Do you get the key?"

Realizing that it was his teammate, carmetwo nodded.

"I got it." He said, showing Max a blue keycard, "The host went to the third floor while cursing loudly because of the commotion started by Otter."

"Great. Let's get the ring and get the hell out of here."

"Alright."

Both of them went to the office and entered with the keycard. Looking around, Max was able to find their target quickly, as it was outlined with a red glow.

Nodding to each other, carmetwo approached the Sea Ring, a ring purely made from blue jade, and took it from its case.

At that moment, the alarm rang loudly.

Beep beep beep!

[Intruder detected!]

Max's disguise was also automatically released, changing his body back into his thief clothes. He looked at carmetwo, and they made the same decision. He purposefully opened the communication between the thieves and gave out a single order.

"Run to the helipad!"
