Max knew Biozone Entertainment would announce a new game or program at every monthly segment. It was like their ritual already, and the chat also knew about it.
However, what they didn't know was that Max actually had an idea of what tomorrow's announcement was. If what Mr. Taka told him before he signed his contract was true, then there would be many new games released this summer.
'I think I won't get into trouble with this, right? I just want to bring an audience to tomorrow's monthly segment.'
— Announcement, heh?
— Coming from an affiliated streamer, it seems we can look forward to this announcement
— I hope they release new games. Q3 will arrive soon.
— Q3 means summers, right? There will also be summer sales in June if they continue what they were doing last year.
— IT'S TIME FOR BIG DISCOUNT BABY!!!
— 50% UWWOOOOOGH! DISCOUNT! Summer sale is the best sale for gamers!
Max waited until the chat's commotion died down before starting Midnight Heist. The familiar bar spread into his vision.

"Let's do this."
And so, the grinding began.
***
As it was called, a grind was a grind. Max had played a few times in Tier 4 ranked, and he began to feel mentally exhausted.
— How many was it?
— 3 Lose in a row after 2 wins. He's 91/100, only a win short from reaching Tier 3 now.
— It's midnight already, but there is no sign of him stopping here
— Look at Breeze, he hasn't raised his head since his last game. It's been 3 minutes since then.
— My condolance, but this is so funny lolol. He usually take care of monsters easily, but online game is truly hell for him
— Welcome to an online game world, Breeze. NOW YOU FEEL HELL, WHAT DO YOU THINK?!
"What do I think?" Max repeated the chat question and let out a long sigh.
"It's the worst. Why the heck is my teammate not serious? And guys, take it easy on me. I know some of you were my enemies in the last game, but how could you steal the target so fast?! Give me time to whip my teammates!"
His viewers were pretty skilled. Some of them queued up with him to play together, but most ended up being on the other side and becoming enemies. That was one of the reasons why he suffered continuous losses in the past few games.
The other reason was just the usual: a useless teammate who played casually in a ranked game.
"I mean... If they want to play around, they can do normal matchmaking! I am serious about reaching Tier 2 and entering the tournament, for the god of RNG's sake!"
Letting out another sigh, he looked at the floating camera in front of him.
"Guys, let's have another deal. Please don't queue for the next game and let me win, okay? Just this one. We will play together in Tier 3 if that's what you want."
— I am pretty tired so I would just watch
— Stop it guys. Let him reach Tier 3
— Sounds good
— NT NT, do your best in your next match
— How about we join and throw so you can advance to Tier 3 easily?
"Nah, don't do that." He immediately stopped his viewers and pressed the matchmaking button. "I don't like playing unfairly. I will win by myself."
— HE'S ON FIRE
— Wooooooo! JUMP JUMP JUMP! His movement is smoother than before!
— Go Breeze! Take that win!
Running across the street, he met with the last police who didn't join the rush on the third floor. A gun was pointed right at his face from a close distance, and without hesitation, the police pulled the trigger.
The beam flew right toward him. There was no way to avoid it from this distance. However... That was for a normal person. It didn't apply to Breeze, whose reflex was similar to a superhuman, thanks to his high SR.
"Speed Mask."
Max activated his mask ability and gained speed twice as fast as before. He jumped to the left, kicking the wall to pass the police, and continued on his way after making a clean shoulder roll. Following that, he was faced with a cliff, which wasn't any problem either.
"Jump Shoes."
Using the ability of the shoes that nullified any fall damage, Max soared in the air. His teammates were trying their best to stop the police, and the other party also tried to catch them instead of rushing toward Max because they wanted the bonus from catching the thieves.
That was their mistake. They shouldn't have rushed into the room together and should've secured the thieves' exit instead.
The area where Max landed was the street right next to the escape hovercar. He immediately entered and pressed the escape button without hesitation. The car started, and it ran off into the distance, leaving the beach house.
Inside the car, he trembled in excitement as he threw his arms above.
"I DID IT!" He shouted loudly, a large smile formed under his mask, "Wooohoo, Tier 3! I finally reached it!"
— Congratulations!
— HE DID IT!
— I WAS HERE
— I was here
— Hello, Punchtube!
— We only need to grind to Tier 2 now
— No one stops him! He did it!
— Heh, he can do it if he tries

[Congratulations! Hehe, I am happy to see you succeed!]
Many donations poured in as Max managed to achieve his goal. However, his excitement didn't die down yet.
He thanked his teammates, who got teleported after the game ended. Then, when he was transferred into the Lobby, he immediately looked at his Tier above the match button.
The number 4 glowed brightly before it shattered into pieces.
Then, the scattered bits gathered together and created a bronze 3, standing on fire beside the words 'Tier.' It was the proof that he had reached Tier 3, something insignificant for the others but an achievement for him in the truest sense.
"Aaaah! Thank god! I did it!"
