Max's luck was pretty good today. Rather, he was pretty lucky in anything but a ranked matchmaking since he regained his past memories.
Even now, he managed to breach through the last door in just one try. The red layer around his body disappeared once he passed the last wall. However, that wasn't a problem, as the finish was within reach.
"Yahoo!" He jumped into the finish line while throwing his hands up.
— It's no surprise
— Yahoo!
— It seems he's pretty happy because he didn't need to act like a cat
— I would be happy too lolol
— Congrats for the first place, Breeze!
Once he passed through the black and white checkered line, he was teleported to a floating platform above where he could see the entire race obstacle and the players.
The chat congratulated him. Also...
— Flexy! We trust you! Win this game!
— Don't lose, Flexy!
— We believe in you, dude! Beat Evelyn!
— Evelyn, please lose! I beg you, please trip down!
... For obvious reasons, they cheered for Flexy. While their desire was questionable, it was pretty surprising to see that the orange-haired streamer wasn't clowned by the chat.
Max understood it too, so he watched intensely as both of them arrived at the last obstacle. Flexy ran faster than Evelyn, most certainly because he had a good posture and running technique.
It was just a straight path ahead. Whoever was faster would win. Both of them did their best until they reached the last one.
Max left a path with no yellow orbs. Any intelligent people, both of them would definitely choose that. However, as a joker, Flexy did it with a twist.
"Touch!" He said as he touched a yellow orb on his right.
At that moment, lightning struck from above. The target was... Evelyn.
"Noo!"
Bam!
Having been charred and had an electric current run through her body, she was unable to move and flopped to the ground. Flexy used this chance to pass through the fifth door. He stopped before the finish line and turned back.
"Heh, I win."
With that, he stepped past the checkered lines, and the game was finished.
— WOOOO
— FLEXYY!!!
— YOU DID IT!
— Catvelyn! Catvelyn!
'Please, continue the podcast!' It was what she wanted to convey.
Max also noticed that. He smiled softly at her and responded.
"Should we continue the chat, Miss Evelyn? Ah, our bet lasts until the end of the podcast. So please keep meowing." He said, "Please don't worry, though. I am a professional cat translator. I will get what you mean."
"Meaw!" Evelyn meowed like before, her face was still red from embarrassment. However, to look better in the camera, she still added a hand movement, which made her look cute.
"I guess that's a yes." He nodded after getting a reply. "Now then, it's sudden, but I will take care of the host role because our Miss Evelyn is now a cat. Production team, there is no problem, right?" He looked at the production crew with invisible avatars.
Johnson lit the green light, which meant that it was okay to proceed. There was only the last game introduction left and the closing. Leaving it to Max and Flexy, a funny duo, wouldn't be a problem at all.
"Good, good." Max nodded, trying his best to look like a professional host. He crossed his legs and changed his clothes to that of a suit. It was time to act.
Looking at Flexy, he asked a question. Experience adventures on m _v _lempy _r.
"Mr. Flexy, what do you think about the third game? I've guessed the first game correctly, so you better have it correct too!"
"Hmm, make sense." Flexy nodded with a serious face. "I will guess that it's a collection game! Where players collect some items to bring back to the base. Or it could also be a fantasy MMORPG game with magic as the main theme."
"Hoo... That's interesting." Max said, turning to Evelyn. "Is that guess correct, Miss Evelyn?"
Everyone was waiting for her to respond. Some were curious, while some were waiting to have an addition to their 'Catvelyn's Collection'.
And she responded in a low voice, sounding shy.
"Myaa..."
That would mean, 'no.' Max nodded repeatedly and turned to Flexy. He shrugged his shoulders.
"Apparently, you're incorrect. As a punishment, you will act like a dog for the rest of the podcast!"
"Excuse me?" Flexy asked, eyes widened in surprise. "We never talked about punishment!"
"We don't, indeed. But you disappoint me, my buddy. I got it correct while you got it wrong." He shook his head in disappointment. "It's normal if you take a punishment, right? Just like Miss Evelyn, you can act like a dog for the rest of the podcast."
"Ugh..."
The orange-haired streamer had nothing to say. This would indeed make things interesting. But...
"Why a dog and not a cat?"
At his question, Max shrugged his shoulders.
"Just because."
There was no need to tell his friend that he looked like a golden retriever, both in appearance and personality. That would make him cocky.
Besides, looking at him suffer like this was fun.
'Hehe, I won.' Max thought. He smirked as he glanced at Flexy, who put on an orange dog's ears.
'You might try to outsmart me. Unfortunately, I have seen that and use your outsmarting to outsmart you.'
The podcast continued, with only Max speaking a human language. A meow and a bark were the only response he got, but he miraculously always got what they were trying to say.
After the third game preview, which turned out to be a slice of life sandbox game, ended, many viewers began to call Max the animal translator.
