"Alright. Once we get teleported, get in position. Sikoga, you go to the main building's hall. Darkki, go to the second floor and report any strange NPC behavior to us. I will be standing outside the main building and laying down traps. Once the target gets stolen, I will give out further instructions."
There was no need to stop them from stealing the target. Their goal was to win the match and to keep the thieves from escaping.
"Let's go!"
As he shouted that, the countdown hit zero and the police officers were deployed in the Underground Cave map.
The tournament version of the Underground Cave map was vast and dark. The main building stood with its back facing the large wall, making it possible for the thieves to only escape from three directions.
Max was teleported to the main hall, Sikoga's post, and immediately activated his communication device.
"Move to the determined location immediately. Sikoga, I will watch the main hall until you arrive. If you find any suspicious individuals, report them to me. Save your handcuff until they steal the target!"
(Got it!)
(I am on my way to the second floor, leader!)
(I am already on my post, setting up one trap. I am also ready to set the other traps once I can do that.) Mo3kyun reported.
(Lopez here, I also set up a trap near the hovercar's entrance. I am currently hiding behind a rock, please tell me if they head in my direction.)
Max looked around with a serious gaze as he listened to their report. The NPCs on this map were security guards, making it a little harder to distinguish from each other because they wore the same uniform. This map might be the worst for the police, but the same could be said for thieves.
'Once they are inside the building, they are like rats in a cat's house.' He thought as he squinted his gaze. 'Although they look the same, making it harder to report to our teammates, finding the disguised thief is easier here.'
To find something suspicious among those guards was pretty easy. He just needed to compare their way of walking or their way of holding the baton strapped on their waist. Unfortunately, their movements were random, so he couldn't judge from where they were going.
'There is nothing suspicious here.' He thought silently as he compared all the guards to one another. 'Either they are really good at acting or weren't in this main hall.'
At that moment, a voice rang from his communication device. It was a report from Sikoga.
(Breeze, I am outside the hall now and find something suspicious. You may want to look at this.)
"Just outside the hall? Alright." He responded to the unusual report and moved.
"Darkki, change of plan. Go guard the East entrance that they can use to escape through the boat. We need to make sure they will try to escape using a hovercar."
(Really? Got it. I saw nothing suspicious here, so I will move to the East gate!)
"Great." Max responded with a calm tone.
"Sikoga, place one trap near that entrance and the open ventilation. It will serve as your alarm. Go outside the main building and guard the main entrance. I think the thieves are trying to make us tired and waste our traps. We won't play their game and just wait."
(Are you sure?) Sikoga asked back through the communication device.
"I am positive. I am in a vantage position and can't even see suspicious people. At least we can confirm the thieves are all inside the main building. We will make them regret this."
(Alright then. You're the boss!)
"You heard me, Mo3kyun. Just leave the trap there and help Darkki and Sikoga. The path to hovercar escape is narrower due to the extra terrain that's on our side. Try to set many traps while returning. Make them easier to spot and flashy so the thieves won't try to get close to that area."
(Instruction clear. I am moving now.)
No matter how many times he heard Mo3kyun's voice, Max still wasn't used to it. His name, personality, and his voice didn't really match at all! The name was cute, but the voice was so deep like the most manly person out there.
'Focus, Max!'
Anyway, that wasn't important. He had to focus on the game now.
The waiting game had started. Whoever moved first would lose. But, if the thieves were late, they would also lose in default when the timer reached zero. So this waiting game really benefit the police players if they realized the thieves' plan.
Max observed everything to ensure everything was fine. Once the alarm rang, he would get a weapon he could use from where he sat down.
And that didn't require a long wait.
Beep! Beep! Beep!
An energy rifle appeared in his hand, and he put on a sniping position without hesitating. While there was no scope, he had a good aim and eyes, so that wasn't a problem. He could see a shadow moving inside the main building through the windows.
"Ladies and gentlemen, lay down all your traps. Here come the thieves." He announced to his teammates and grinned, "Let's apprehend them all."
