Staying around the clearing with 5 slates was a bad idea, so Max and Lily quickly went inside the forest. Of course, they didn't forget to recover her 5 arrows. They could still be useful.
They hid behind a large tree and crouched.
"Based on what the tutorial said, once we get 5 slates, we need to put them on top of each other. That will allow our GPS to get a certain signal that shows where the exit to the next map is. Am I right this far?"

Previously, the GPS screen only showed marks and lines indicating how far it was. But now, a door mark appeared with the number 628 written under it.
"That must be the exit," Max said as he pointed at the map. "Based on its position, it was located at the end of this map, 628 meters away from here. It's pretty close. We can reach it in under 2 minutes if we run. Or we can walk leisurely and enjoy our time."
"Let's just run. We don't want to meet other players again, no?"
"That's true." Max rose to his feet and put all the slates inside his backpack again.
When he did that, the GPS display reverted back to the usual. That didn't matter, though, as he roughly knew the door's location.
He began to run, with Lily following closely behind him. They followed animal trails and arrived at a dense forest with vines growing from the branches. The surrounding area was clearly different from the forest from earlier.
However, there was nothing that indicated a door in the surrounding area. He could also hear footsteps from the surroundings, although he couldn't see their sources.

"The door is hidden, and there are people here. It's more dangerous than I thought." Max whispered as he began to arrange the slate one by one. He wanted to make sure they were in the right spot.
"Why?" Lily asked.
Just from that one word, he knew that she asked why there were people here. When one thought about it, there was only one possibility.
"They are waiting for a pair who have 5 slates to arrive. And based on them walking away from us, they probably only have a rough idea that the door is here. It's just a guess, but because this biome is different from the forest we came from, they must think the door is located in this area."
"I see. So they are trying to ambush people but can't find the door yet."
"It seems so." He smiled at her.

At that moment, hasty footsteps could be heard approaching their area. Max looked at their direction briefly before turning to Lily.
"Our guests are here. Let's exit this place."
"Un. Let's go."
And they walked through the gate, arriving at the desert biome. The gate behind them couldn't be seen.
