The second day of his apprenticeship wasn't that much different from the first day. However, Chef Rush was prepared and limited to one menu per person to accommodate everyone.
At least the restaurant could serve around 500 to 600 servings on a normal day. But on June 5th, the second day, they managed to serve around 900 servings and pumped the sales. Everyone was tired, and Chef Rush gave both Anna and Kevin a rest day on June 6th.
Unlike the first day, the restaurant finished rather late, at 3 PM. Max immediately returned to his apartment to clean himself. Then, he met up with Lily at a café to talk about tomorrow's event.
"Max, are you sure you won't just rest? You look tired." She asked worriedly after they sat on the chair in the corner of the café.
Facing her, he gave a smile.
"It's okay. I can handle this much."
"You sure? Don't push yourself, okay. What if you get sick?"

"At that time, you will take care of me, right?" He teased and grinned, taking her hand.
Yes, he was still scared of getting sick and being in a hospital. But having someone next to him just made that fear trivial.
Hearing his teasing, Lily's cheek blushed slightly, and she looked away from him.
"Please don't joke around." She said, pulling her turtleneck's collar to hide her lower face.
Both of them enjoyed the atmosphere between them for a while until the waitress brought their order. She had calmed down considerably and changed the topic.
"Still..." She said, looking at him strangely. "Isn't $3,000 too much for our guests' appearance fee? I mean, I am not that great of a cook. And I am not that famous, with only 3-4K average viewers..."
"I think it's pretty reasonable." Max answered as he nibbled on a croissant he ordered, "I mean when you're in my channel, it boosts the view up to 2K. With both of our views combined, it's more than 16K. Not to mention, I have close to 900K followers now and keep going. 3K is reasonable for our fee."
He wanted to say that they probably would earn more once White Lily's real identity was announced, but he kept that to himself because his girlfriend still couldn't accept the fact they got $3K for just attending an event.
'I was like that at the start too. I guess I have gotten used to it.' He thought. 'Still, I thought 3K would be nothing for her. But she looked happy about it.'
Maybe it was the sense of accomplishment of getting paid for her own effort. He was happy for her.
└ Yeah, this will be wholesome.
└ Agree!
└ I will definitely watch it.
— With Bamboo Talent, eh? Nice. They are pretty good
└ Yes, I know some talents there and have a good relationship with them (Breeze)
— Aaaah! This is why he learned to cook under Chef Rush.
└ Now I understand it
└ Will he bring that skill to the talent show?
└ Now, we will see Breeze shout at those guys, saying they aren't good enough.
└ I can imagine Breeze shouting, "Do it, boy!" in Chef Rush's voice.
└ I won't do that, you know? (Breeze)
The post was immediately filled with comments from his followers. He replied to some comments.
Lily also read the comments she got, but she didn't reply to anyone.
After a while, they decided to move to Max's apartment. It was time to show off her cooking skills!
Didn't need to say it, but Max had no expectations. He only watched her making fried eggs with judging eyes. If it was about cooking, he would be strict with it! That was what Chef Rush had taught him in the past 2 days.
When Lily was done, she gave him the simple fried egg with a proud expression. Max couldn't be more disappointed, but he tried it nonetheless. He ate a quarter of it and had to admit it.
'Yeah, this is a disaster.'
"It's good." He tried his best to give her a thumbs-up in appreciation.
Some talents were indeed meant to be buried. This was one of them.
