Chapter 48: Stain
Lin Xin took advantage when the Dean had his guard down, and now she was able to successfully remove him from his position. The girl laid within the mistress’ embrace and pretended to be pitiful for a while; inside however, she couldn’t help but cheer for joy. She had the urge to look for Lin Xinyu as soon as possible, take his hand and tell him that the villain was punished as deserved, and that no one will bully him in the future.
However, she knew that now wasn’t the time to do that; for now she needed to play the whole act. After cutting of the Dean’s most important private part, she had to rely on the mistress’ care. Lin Xin listened as the lady sang a lullaby to her and comforted her to not be afraid. The woman’s soft voice resounded in her ears over and over again. Lin Xin felt tired. Her consciousness drifted away, but she wasn’t sure whether she had really fallen asleep.
When the mistress saw that Lin Xin was sleeping soundly, she tucked the girl into bed and left the room to check on the other two children who were waiting outside.
The mistress looked around but couldn’t find Lin Bo’s figure. Just when she was about to ask, the young master said, “Mom, the police took Li Ya, the Dean. Such a person should stay in prison for a lifetime right?”
The mistress nodded and replied, “I never expected Li’s nephew to be such a person. Ah…” The reason why she and her son had visited this orphanage was because of Li Ya’s uncle, Li Ming Shun. He said that his nephew was a very charitable young man. After graduating from a famous university, Li Ya had turned down an invitation from a prominent company and chose instead to come to this suburban orphanage as a dean. Who would have thought that his care for more than ten children was merely a cover up for his crimes. Here in the outskirts outside the city, where communication was underdeveloped and the children were too young to resist his authority; in such a place, he acted worse than an animal and kept it hidden.
Upon seeing the girl’s serious condition, it can be assumed that it wasn’t just a matter of one or two days that she fell into this state. The fact that she was able to drag her ill body to meet the mistress and her son on their visit was not accidental; in order to leave this dark place as soon as possible, she revealed her own talents. Unfortunately, she was unable to escape her final humiliation under the Dean.
At the tender of ten, such a child had to experience this kind of suffering. Who knows when she’ll be waking up. It’s a pity–with her talents, she could fly into the sky and become a phoenix in any family.
The mistress sighed with regret and said, “Look after her.”
The time was no longer early, around 4 pm and Li Ya was dragged away by the police. And what of the children here? With the girl’s innocence being soiled, which family would want to adopt her? This was truly a problem. The mistress asked her son, “Do you think we should still adopt her?”
The teenager looked up at her strangely and replied, “Why not?”
The mistress whispered, “I want to find a sister for you. In the future, I want you to marry someone who is accepted by our family. She, she…” the lady couldn’t say more to her fifteen-year-old son.
But the Young Master already understood what she was implying. Lin Xin’s life has a heavy stain, especially for girls. It’s a stain that can’t be erased for a lifetime. With this, she could not be worthy of becoming a member of the Xiao family.
His heart was truly unwilling, but not because of his mother’s hypocrisy or Lin Xin’s stain. The girl’s confident face appeared in his mind; he couldn’t associate such a bright girl to the shivering Lin Xin in that room. It was as if they were two completely different people. The young master felt as if he had neglected something, but he couldn’t point out what he had missed.
Perhaps, it’s really just because she suffered too much torture .
