Chapter 113: Clash (2)

Enduring the pain, Lin Shuhao put Lin Xin into Wang Changding’s hand.

“My sister is in poor health. If she feels tired, you will come back early. Call me if you need anything.”

Wang Changding smiled, took Lin Xin from his hand and helped her into the car. After the two got in, Lin Xin received a text message from Lin Shuhao: [You twisted my arm too hard. I’ll tell Mother when she comes back at night.]

Lin Xin: [Sure. I’ll tell mom I saw something 18+ on your computer.]

Lin Shuhao: [orz.]

Lin Xin: [Huh~]

Wang Changding smiled happily at her and asked, “What are you laughing at?”

It is disrespectful to check one’s phone when in the company of someone. Lin Xin put away her cell phone and sheepishly said, “Nothing, a joke.”

Wang Changding asked, “A joke? Can I see it too? ”

“It’s very ordinary,” Lin said. “It’s nothing.”

After an ‘Oh’ Wang Changding stopped asking.

Along the way, in a measured way, the two talked about the economy. It was not pleasant to talk about each other, but it was comfortable to discuss the economy.

Having arrived at the theatre, Wang Changding thoughtfully helped Lin Xin out of the car. The concert had not yet begun. Everyone was waiting for entry.

They’d booked special seats in the VIP area. They took another aisle, went around the crowd and walked through the secluded corridor.

The receptionist at the door was receiving the VIP audience. Wang Changding was about to hand in his ticket when Lin Xin heard someone call out to her.

“What a coincidence, Miss Lin!”

Lin Xin looked up and saw Lin Xinyu walking towards them with Wu Anan on his arm. She’d met him twice, but it was only this time that Lin Xin looked at him carefully. He was taller than before, about 1.8 meters tall… purple shirt black suit, slender figure. The boyishness had faded, the teenager had grown into a man. Flashing his unique pristine light, his eyes sparkled like the stars. Just like the child she remembered, what he should look like as a grown up.

“What a coincidence, Miss Lin,”  he said, politely and gently.

Lin Xin too thought it was a coincidence and nodded.

In a domineering tone, Wu Anan said,  “How come I meet you everywhere?”

The last time Wu Anan took it out on Lin Shuhao, Lin Xin avenged him. She didn’t want to bother talking to her and pretended not to hear. Taking Wang Changding’s arm, Lin Xin prepared to enter. It didn’t sit well with Wu Anan. Looking just like a broiled hen, she felt that Lin Xin insulted her.

“Miss Lin, be careful on the road. You never know what kind of accident could happen.”

Last time, she’d threatened Han Keman the same way. Like human life was a joke! How did she become like this? Lin Xin couldn’t help thinking of the former Wu Anan. Though she was not a good person, she was never as cocky as she was now. I wonder what’s transpired this past decade.

Thoroughly dispirited, Lin Xin didn’t want to talk to her. Wu Anan wouldn’t kill her… right? She held back her panic within.

“You can try,” she said. “I’ll wait. Do you think everyone’s scared of you? S City isn’t surnamed Wu.”

Wu Anan wanted to retort but was held back by Lin Xinyu.

Looking at them coldly, Lin Xin said to Lin Xinyu, “Take care of the people around you and make her less sick of me.”

Lin Xinyu froze and responded. “Mm-hmm.” Like a big Teddy.

Lin Xin took Wang Changding’s arm and entered the concert hall with satisfaction.

After the two sat down, Wang Changding asked Lin Xin, “You know Lin Xinyu?”
