104 Ella & Kyle
Kyle was a protective man, he couldn't let the women return home in such a state considering the time. It was well past midnight and that was a dangerous time for women to be outside.
Kyle wasn't about to take any risk and also was looking for an excuse to get out of there.
He witnessed the opening and knew it would be a grand success, there was no limitation to what he could achieve.
This place was going to be big but Nate had shown he was more than capable of handling himself and this club.
If need be, Nate could act as the face but he didn't want him to drop out of college.
That was one thing he wasn't going to allow him to do because he still regretted taking that path.
There was one thing he knew all too well and that was the consequence of one's action.
Kyle drove with great skills, Jane was in the backseat because she needed to lie down.
Ella sat in the passenger seat and there was silence, Jane was already asleep at the back with music blasting through the window.
Kyle's eyes were focused on the road, the road barely had any cars on them because it was the time when dangerous things tend to happen.
This was why Kyle knew he had to be vigilant, he wasn't going to risk anything.
"Ella, how was your experience?" Kyle finally spoke but this wasn't because he was uncomfortable with the silence.
"I-I didn't expect the place to be this intense..." Ella admitted. n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
"I'm sorry for putting you on the spot but I heard your demo and knew I just had to have you there. You're an incredible singer, I'm glad I found you first," Kyle said and there it was again, a simple compliment but Ella was glad that her talents were being recognized by someone who didn't want to sleep with her so she knew it was a genuine compliment with no ulterior motive involved.
Then again, men weren't so straight forward but she truly believed that Kyle was different.
Kyle sat on the couch to unwind, he needed to rest up a bit because he too had a busy night and getting back on the road immediately would have more disadvantages than advantages.
Kyle looked at her legs, it was an involuntary action upon hearing her statement.
"Your leg looks just fine to me," Kyle responded with a reassuring smile.
"Looks are deceiving! I'm sure you are aware of that," Ella fired back.
"True, I thought you were a vampire that was after my blood when we first met," Kyle responded with a tease.
"Haha! Come on! I wasn't that bad!" Ella couldn't hold in her laughter.
"I bet that was what Vlad the Impaler said too..." Kyle said, joining his fingers together to form a cross as he slowly raised it.
Ella kept on laughing. This was what made Kyle stand out, his sense of humor and ability to engage in any type of conversation.
"Do you want anything to drink? Maybe water?" Ella asked to which Kyle nodded.
"Sure thing, a glass wouldn't do before I go on my way," Kyle said.
Ella stood up to retrieve a glass of water and returned in a little over 20 seconds.
Kyle gulped down the glass and got on his feet, he was ready to go.
"Are you sure you can go back home tonight? You can spend the night here if you want to," Ella suggested but Kyle was already headed towards the door.
"Nice try Dracula," These were his final words before walking out the door leaving Ella with a wide smile on her face.
