Chapter 10 - A Defiant Letter

"T-the hell are you doing you bastard!" Yelled Malfoy while clutching his nose. "Wait till my father hears about this!"

Arth took out another book.

"Hey Daphne, is the game still going? I have a book here that wants to give Malfoy a kiss on his big flappy lips."

"O-Oi! Greengrass! Call of your boyfriend right now!"

"Wow, he really doesn't know how to ask for favors does he. Two hundred points for his crotch?"

Malfoy's face went pale. "G-Greengrass! We are both in Slytherin! Are you truly going to side with a filthy book brain-"

A book flew over and landed right between Malfoy's thighs, a centimeter below his crotch causing Malfoy's already pale face to become even paler.

"Tch, I missed," said Arth while clicking his tongue. "Now if you don't shut the hell up Malfoy, I won't miss next time."

"D-don't order me around Cowardscrown! I'm not your servant!"

Arth whipped out his wand with a dangerous look, "You are really testing my patience Malfoy, you really are."

"T-try me!"

Malfoy pulled himself up and the Slytherins took out their wands and pointed them at Arth causing the Gryffindors to draw their wands towards Malfoy as well.

The Ravenclaws watched on in silence while the Hufflepuffs seemed to be anxious.

Malfoy glared at the Gryffindors. "Stay out of it Weasley. This is none of your business."

Ron let out a smirk. "An enemy of my enemy is my friend. Plus, I also wish to participate in Arthur's little game of throwing. Except, instead of books, I suggest we throw hexes."

Daphne hesitated on which side to choose when Malfoy barked at her.

"Greengrass, come over here before I tell my father that you are a blood traitor just like the Weasleys."

Daphne bit her lips in a frustrated manner before giving Arth a worried glance. He gave her a smile before gesturing her leave, which she did reluctantly.

They two sides faced each other with increasing tension and were about to start fighting when Madam Hooch reappeared.

"What is going on here! Put down your wands! I said put them down at once!"

Everyone slowly lowered their wands, however, they continued to glare at each other with hate.

"I've never seen anything like this in all my years of teaching! If anyone points their wand at someone again, they will be the first to be expelled! Class is dismissed!"

The Slytherins were the first to leave, Malfoy sent a particularly nasty look at Arth before heading off. When Daphne tried to say something to Arth, he frowned and glared at her, causing her to go silent.

After the Slytherins were the Ravenclaws, followed by the Hufflepuffs. The Gryffindors, especially Ron, started to compliment Arth.

"Nice throw man!"

"Fifty points? I would've given it five hundred."

"That was nice to see, left me refreshed."

Arth gave each of them a small smile.

Ron clapped Arth on the back before giving him a wide grin. "Arthur right? You ain't too bad of a person, my name is Ron, Ronald Weasley. You are in group A with me, right? That was a bloody good throw back there."

"Thanks."

"You know, I'm starting to really like you. Wanna hang out with me and Harry sometimes? I feel like you are a cool person to hang out with."

"That sounds nice."

"Well, I guess I'll see you later. We can always work on Homework together since we have the same classes. Just a friendly warning though, me and Harry aren't that prepared when it comes to homework or studying. Bye!"

"Bye!"

Arth bid the Gryffindors farewell and waited for all of them to leave before sighing. It was pitiful how the Gryffindors treated him better than his own house. Just how egotistical were the Ravenclaw boys for them to hold a grudge over something so small?

Arth picked up his book and started to head up towards the castle. He was worried for Daphne. She had taken his side, maybe a little too much, and was afraid that she would suffer the consequences for it. Malfoy seemed like the type of guy who would not let the tiniest thing slide. Especially if he had been embarrassed due to it.

Arth headed up to his dormitory and walked towards his bed. It had been pushed to the furthest corner of the room, away from al the other boys. Corvus's basket was covered in a blanket, squirming as if something inside was trying to get out. Arth lifted it and immediately, a fluffy ball of black fell to the table top with a small peep.

Arth grinned as the Corvus got back up to his two feet, stretched its wings before letting out a loud peep. It then hopped it's way towards Arth happily.

Arth patted Corvus on the head gently before picking him up. He let Corvus settle on his head and made his way to dinner.

Instead of sitting at the Slytherin table, Arth sat down at the Ravenclaw table. Nobody gave him a seconds glance, which Arth was perfectly fine with.

He took out a book and started to read while he listened onto the conversations around him.

"Seeker? But first years never! You must be the youngest house player in about-"

"A century. Wood told me."

Apparently Harry had avoided getting in trouble and instead became the Seeker to the Gryffindor Quidditch team. Good for him.

"What an idiot, can't believe he is in Ravenclaw with us-"

Micheal was once again insulting Arth, something he did constantly when he thought that Arth wasn't paying attention.

Little did Micheal know that Arth was always listening. Something about hearing someone insult you behind your back was interesting to Arth. It was even comical at times.

Arth was about to take a sip of his soup when a letter was dropped right besides him. It was clearly addressed to him. He raised an eyebrow before opening it.

Dear Arth,

Sorry Arth, I need to avoid you for a bit. This stupid arrogant mama's boy is threatening to call me a traitor if I talk to you again.

Arth glanced at the Slytherin table and saw Malfoy with a smug look. Arth rolled his eyes before continuing to read the letter.

But it's ok. I won't let him completely control me. We can talk in ways other than speech. Just get an owl and send me a letter ok? Mail me.

Sincerely,

Daphne.

Arth let out a smirk. What a defiant girl.
