Chapter 3: Orphanage and starter pack

After being left alone for half an hour the woman finally returned with a new set of clothes for Nick that she had an officer have his wife bring up to the station that were hand downs but should fit Nick. He didn't mind wearing second hand clothes since he had an older brother before he had found himself in his current situation so he had worn them before. It was a simple set of clothes made of jeans , a t-shirt , underwear , socks and shoes that was slightly too big but otherwise fit just fine.-

Despite the wounds on his head the woman said that Nick was a pretty cute kid and was sure to grow up into a real heartbreaker. He thought she was merely trying to make him feel better and nodded without really agreeing which seemed to make her happy enough. An actual doctor came in eventually and tested Nick a bit with several specially designed test after which he declared Nick to truly have amnesia. The cause was obviously the multiple blunt force injuries on his head and the after checking all of the other wounds on Nick stated that it was likely some older children around thirteen who probably did it from the fact none of his bones were broken.- L1tLagoon witnessed the first publication of this chapter on Ñøv€l--B1n.

Nick had to stay the night at the police office as they looked for his parents or any other place for him to stay. The next day when no public records of Nick came up they started the process of moving Nick into an orphanage as a ward of the state. The nearest orphanage willing to take him in was saint Mathews home for the lost. It was a well funded place that obviously took good care of the children there as they were well fed and each had laugh lines from smiling.

The rules for the orphanage weren't particularly hard to follow as it was basic stuff like no fighting or stealing so Nick was a very well behaved individual if a bit quiet since he didn't talk much. The care takers merely thought that it was because of his head injury and didn't push him to interact with the other kids. It was only after a week that Nick finally got enough privacy in his room to accept the starter pack from the system safely in his opinion.-

He was very excited about it but double checked the makeshift lock on the door to insure secrecy. 'Lets see if this is worth the wait' Nick thought while mentally hitting the Y option.
