Chapter 111 A Risky Gamble

Chapter 111 A Risky Gamble

As Xiao Chen and Yu Rui stepped out of the alley, they immediately caught the attention of bystanders.

Curious gazes lingered on them, some even lingering too long on Yu Rui.

Xiao Chen glanced at her from the corner of his eye.'By now, she must have sensed that I don't have the Demonic Dao Bones,' he thought, maintaining a calm expression.

He wasn't foolish enough to try to deceive Yu Rui that he possessed the demonic devil dao bones, nor was he planning to.

After all, Yu Rui possessed the legendary Supreme Bone!

With it, she could easily discern whether he had the Demonic Dao Bones or not.

His plan was to prevent Lin Tao from crossing paths with Yu Rui and pretend to be the reincarnation of the Ruler of Physiques and Bloodlines she was searching for.

Admittedly, it was a risky gamble. But if Xiao Chen truly intended to steal the Demonic Dao Bones from the Crimson Fatty, he had no choice but to take that risk.

He understood all too well that Rulers were on an entirely different level compared to Chosen Ones. If he allowed the Crimson Fatty to collect the Demonic Dao Bones through Lin Tao, it would spell disaster for him in the future. The Crimson Fatty would become an unstoppable threat.

'I have to convince her that I am the Ruler's reincarnation,' Xiao Chen decided, a faint smile playing on his lips.

Suddenly, he stopped walking, pulling a large piece of silk cloth from his storage ring.

Under Yu Rui's confused gaze, he draped the cloth over her shoulders, wrapping it carefully around her to shield her from prying eyes.

At the same time, he turned and shot a sharp glare at the onlookers.

"Let's go," he said simply, turning and walking forward.

Yu Rui stood frozen for a moment, stunned by his actions. Slowly, realization dawned on her, and a mixture of emotions flickered across her face.

To be honest, she still had doubts about Xiao Chen.

Was he truly the reincarnation of that man?

She didn't sense the same familiarity from him as before, a sign that he didn't possess the Demonic Dao Bones.

As they entered the private area of the pavilion, Wu Tei was already standing at attention, waiting for orders.

"Prepare a room for this miss," Xiao Chen commanded, gesturing toward Yu Rui, "and another for this old man."

"Yes, Young Master," Wu Tei replied immediately, bowing deeply before stepping away to relay the instructions to his subordinates.

Yu Rui's eyes flickered with interest. Xiao Chen's voice carried an undeniable weight of authority when addressing Wu Tei, a stark contrast to his tone with the disciples earlier.

What's more, Wu Tei had referred to him as Young Master.

Her brows furrowed slightly as she watched him. 'Young Master?' she thought, her curiosity piqued. 'Does he have another background?'

Yu Rui had already suspected Xiao Chen wasn't just a disciple of some lower-realm sect, but this made her curious.

'Could he be an illegitimate child of a middle-realm family?' she speculated.

Her gaze lingered on his handsome face and she couldn't help but reconsider 'Or maybe from an upper-realm force?'

Just then, Xiao Chen's voice pulled her out of her thoughts.

"Miss Yu, it will take some time for them to prepare your room. Only after that can I begin the treatment," he said calmly.

Yu Rui nodded in understanding, but his next words caught her completely off guard.

"So... would you like to freshen up while the room is being prepared?" Xiao Chen asked, his face showing a hint of hesitation.

Yu Rui blushed in anger after hearing his words.

But who told her to go overboard with the disguise?

She really looked like she hadn't taken a bath for days.

"....Fine" She replied with a depressed face.
