Allen was brought inside the workshop by Larappa.
(So she saw I was coming because she was up here.)
The beastman commander Rath was getting something like a bracelet from the dwarves.
As Allen looked around, Cecile, Peromus, and Fiona came up .
"Hello, Commandant. Did you come to watch the experiment?"
"Experiment? Did the thing I asked for last month get done then?"
Allen had asked Larappa for many things to help with strengthening Allen's Army.
They were conducting an experiment relating to one of them now.
Allen was the Commandant of Allen's Army, so he tried to be more authoritative when talking.
He only spoke really casually with his party members.
"Yeah!!"
Larappa pointed up as she answered.
"Does that bracelet do what I requested then?"
"Yes. The prototypes were a success, but today we're testing the finished product!"
Cecile and the dwarves listened to their conversation.
Allen wanted to solve one of the issues with Allen's Army with magic devices.
"Let's hope it goes well, then. Thank you for your continuous work as well, Commander Rath."
Rath wore the bracelet and held his adamantite spear, angled slightly above horizontal.
His entire body was covered in a heat haze, he had activated his Extra Skill.
"Let's hope it works. Brave Lance!!"
He aimed in the opposite direction from the mountain with the temple and threw his spear.
It flew at incredible speed and vanished beyond the horizon in an instant.
Larappa squinted trying to follow the spear, before giving Rath new indications.
"Focus on the bracelet and give it the order to return."
"Alright, return, my spear."
Swhoop
Multiple geometric shapes lit up on the bracelet.
The spear that had traveled more than a kilometer returned to his hand.
"It worked!! Did you see? The experiment was a success!!"
Larappa climbed on the rooftop's edge, raising her hands in a grandiose pose.
"""Our boss is the best!!"""
The dwarves revered her like a queen.
Fiona looked confused by it all, but Peromus would explain later.
Cecile thought of something then.
"Allen, is this the thing you mentioned to recover thrown weapons?"
"Yeah. Habarak is putting everything he has into these weapons, so I want them to last."
Allen had asked Larappa if she could find a way to recover thrown weapons.
The Demon King's Army had put up a good fight in Prostia, so he wanted everyone to be stronger.
One way was with equipment.
Thanks to Habarak and the dwarves, Allen's Army could get powerful weapons.
One way was through [Forging] the adamantite ingots from the S Rank Dungeon.
[Tempering] and [Alchemy] could bring them to the level of orichalcum weapons.
Such throwing weapons could allow them to defeat Demon Generals with ease.
But each weapon cost a lot of money, and preparing spares would take too long.
It was hard for the soldiers to use the weapons without reservations.
(I algo got a merman army, so I need to make them stronger too.)
He had obtained 2000 mermen with mostly 2 Star Talents.
He wanted them to have better equipment.
Seeing the spear that had been thrown and returned, Allen noticed something.
"I get that it can return if thrown, but what happens when it pierces a monster? Or if it gets stuck on a cliffside?"
"We tried with a weapon stuck on bedrock and it worked. It might be tricky against really tough enemies though. I'll keep enhancing the device's power for that, I won't lose to the Demon King's Army!"
Larappa was ready to defeat the Demon King's Army.
"So spears are a success, but I believe you said living beings will take a bit longer?"
Allen had also requested a magic device to transport people.
"That's still in progress. For now it's only enough to transport one weapon. But Mayor Peromus' assistance has been very valuable to reach this point."
Peromus had told them what he experienced in Sinorom's laboratory.
He had been taken to somewhere different from Patlanta.
It seemed like the Demon King's Army had more technology than them.
But Peromus' experience had laid the groundwork for some experiments.
Thanks to that, they had created the magic device to return a thrown weapon.
But it could not handle anything bigger than that.
"I heard the Talent Change Dungeon is being upgraded too. Maybe that'll open more paths."
"Right! I want to have a Talent Change too!!"
There was more good news.
Cecile reacted hearing the words Talent Change Dungeon.
"The Talent Change Dungeon, huh. Let's hope they hurry, I want to have a 5 Star Talent!"
"Let's not be hasty. We still don't know if a 5 Star Talent is possible yet."
The Spirit God Rosen had returned from the Divine Realm with that news.
But there was not much information disclosed, other than more would be told through an oracle during the Five Continents Alliance later on.
[The Talent Change Dungeon's schedule]:
-January last year, announcement through an oracle
-April last year, the dungeon was opened
-January this year, another announcement during the meeting
-April this year, the renewed dungeon would be opened
Cecile was excited, hoping to earn even more power.
Maybe she would even get a 5 Star Talent.
(This brings me back. Level caps being increased, updates, and more dungeons with bosses. Maybe it's all an effect of the Evil God's resurrection?)
Updates would always get him excited in his past life too.
It was hard to tell exactly what would happen, but he had high expectations.
Considering the desperate messages he got in Patlanta, he could tell the Divine Realm was taking this seriously.
"Do you have a moment too? I've finally figured out how to make Heavy User Island move!!"
"Really? Did you really do that?!"
The shock made Allen forget how he decided to talk with her.
"Heheheh, for real. Could you come with me to the temple?"
"Of course. Come out Griffs, take us to the temple!!"
'''Growl!!'''
Larappa had more announcements other than the bracelet's completion.
She had figured out how to move Heavy User Island.
Fiona could not follow at all, and Peromus had to console her.
She was here on a tour of Heavy User Island, which included meeting all the important people.
Everyone headed to the temple in the center of the island.
Haku, who had grown to 15 meters long, flew to Allen.
Fiona went pale seeing the White Dragon.
The pink haired Kurena rode on top of Haku.
"Ah, it's Allen!!"
'Gahhhh! It's Allen! It's Allen!!'
Haku repeated Kurena's words.
"Oh, Kurena. I see Haku has grown a lot. Also, he can speak now."
Kurena had been flying on Haku around the mountain.
Haku had started being able to produce words.
"Mhm, and we can fly together too now. Are you going to the temple?"
"Yeah, apparently they found out how to move the island."
"Ohh! I'll go too!!"
'Mama, I want see too!!'
"Umm, you can't Haku. You can't enter the temple."
'Mamaaa, noooo, gyahhhh!!'
(Hmm, he's throwing a tantrum while flying. It also feels weird seeing Kurena as a reasonable person by comparison.)
Haku began flying in circles, annoyed that he could not go with them.
Eventually Kurena gave up on going with Allen.
She went with Haku, gently petting his neck.
Meanwhile Fiona stared blankly, feeling like common sense had vanished everywhere.
Inside the temple, Larappa led the group downstairs.
There were multiple dwarves there too.
Cables of magic devices formed a thick net there.
"Hello Boss, and Commandant Allen too."
One of the dwarves greeted them.
"I heard you can move the island now?"
"Yes. We managed to decode the magic device's instruction set."
The dwarf in charge explained.
There had always been what looked like a magic device underneath the temple.
They had assumed that the magic device would allow them to move the island.
Larappa's dwarves had been able to reverse engineer it.
As a result, they could move the island now.
"Could you show me?"
Allen sent a Bird E summon to watch how the island moved.
"Alright, I'll move it then."
Many dwarves gathered around touch panels to control the magic device.
"Ohh, it moved. It's a decent speed too, maybe like a magic ship?"
He could tell through the Bird E summon's eyes that the island was moving.
There was a mountain range in the continent with the Confederation.
Heavy User Island was slowly moving towards it.
"Are you sure Allen? Magic ships always rattle a lot."
Cecile could not feel the island moving.
"The island is so big that you can't feel it."
(I heard cruisers and luxury ships feel different too. At least the people won't get motion sick.)
Allen had never been on a cruiser or a luxury ship before.
But he could tell that the people on the island could not feel the movement.
"Bring up a map magic device to check the island's position."
Larappa ordered one of her dwarves.
"This is the island's position relative to the world map. You can check the speed too."
Their current location was displayed on a map magic device.
"I see. And this is at max power, right? Are you satisfied, Commandant?"
This meant this would be a control room for the island.
Larappa asked what Allen thought of their results.
(Hmm, we can't see the outside from here, we'll have to renew this place. Also…)
"It'll take us some days to leave the continent at this speed, can't we go any faster?"
Allen felt like speed was essential to any vehicle.
He remembered always wanting faster ways to travel to complete quests all over the game map.
"This is the limit even if we chuck a lot of Magic Stones at it."
A dwarf explained that even if they used more Magic Stones the speed would not go up.
"What if you link various Magic Cores then? Maybe ten could make it go faster?"
"I see. We could use Magic Cores to get more power. Everyone, get to work!"
Gordino would sometimes drop Magic Cores, which could be linked and output more power.
The magic device they had taken to Prostia had 3 of them.
Gordino could only be fought once every day, and dropped 3 or 4 of them.
They had continued defeating Gordino after returning from Prostia, so Allen had 17 stored.
Linking 10 of those could allow the island to move faster.
Allen brought the Magic Cores to the temple and they were linked.
"It looks like the speed went up. Why do you want to travel so fast though?"
Cecile looked at the map and noticed the island was moving faster.
"There's never enough speed to travel. And I also want to see the edge of the world."
"Huh? The edge of the world?"
Cecile was confused hearing that.
"Yes, according to the Academy lessons this world is square. I want to check that for myself."
This world was not a globe like earth.
All its landmass combined was greater than earth, and the sea was way deeper too.
Allen had been taught that this world was shaped like a square, supported by Gaia.
He asked the teacher if he had seen it himself, and he just showed Allen an old drawing.
The old drawing depicted Gaia, telling everyone to live on without worry.
(Maybe I can learn something by seeing the edge of the world too.)
Heavy User Island sped up, heading to the edge of the world.
