Chapter 589: Albahar's trial (1)

The tiger beastman who entered the room had golden eyes filled with ambition.

Her body was muscular, and her hair reached her shoulders.

She wore light armor, knuckle guards, and knee pads, showing she preferred melee combat. Diiscover new stories at nove/lbin(.)c/om

(It's Shea.)

It was the princess of Albahar, and one of Allen's friends.

Without looking at Allen, she rushed straight at Albahar.

Allen tried to greet her, but she just flung her arms to throw something she was carrying.

"Wha-?! Hey!! Why..."

Cecile tried to complain about her violent reaction, but Shea was too ferocious.

"There! I hunted the ghost you asked for. Now give me power you shitty old man!!"

Her voice made the entire room shake, more than the enormous ghost did as it hit the floor.

Her body was covered by the blue blood of ghosts, just like the Ten Heroic Beasts behind her.

'I knew I could count on my descendant. The villagers were unable to defeat it in 1000 years.'

Albahar glanced at the ghost's head, then voiced his thoughts.

(Hmhm, so her trial has been to hunt ghosts.)

Allen had taken away the summons there almost right away, so he did not know what had happened in the last month. Though he remembered something about hunting ghosts.

"You've made me hunt ghosts for a month already! Are you sure this is their leader now!!"

She sounded both angry and overloaded with adrenaline from battle.

Meanwhile Albahar rose a little and sniffed the air.

'Yes...the 10000 ghosts are all gone now. Maybe I should recommend you to other villages as a superior hunter.'

(He can detect ghosts like that? I wish I had a summon that can do that.)

"Wha-?! Are you serious?!!"

Shea was in disbelief hearing that. She had already completed the first task.

'Just kidding, don't worry... I guess my descendants all take things too seriously.'

Shea and Albahar continued talking, almost as if Allen and the rest were not there.

"Stop joking around and give me my Divine Technique already."

'Shea, aren't you forgetting our agreement? I believe I said you have to take it from me.'

"Hm!"

Albahar stood up menacingly, terrifying claws growing out of his front paws.

"That's fun!!"

Shea also formed fists and readied her stance.

"Hey, hold up a second!!"

(Don't leave us behind.)

'Hm?'

Allen shouted loudly, and finally Shea and Albahar remembered he was there.

"Ohh, Allen. Good job getting here."

"It's been a while. I see you've been training hard with the Ten Heroic Beasts here."

Allen checked how much Shea had grown during that month.

[Name] Shea

"I see...I guess that's alright."

Her earlier ferocity was gone, her ears and tail hanging limp. She was quite disappointed.

(Beastmen really show their emotions clearly.)

Allen had been an office worker in his past life, which required him to show no emotions.

He felt jealous of how easily Shea displayed hers, wishing he could have done that as well.

"So you'll get your Divine Technique if you defeat the ghost leader and Albahar?"

"Yeah, pretty much. I have to obtain my father's [Full Beast Mode] from my ancestor. Also here, we picked up some Spirit Stones."

Shea informed Allen of what had happened.

The Paradise of Primordial Beasts had seen an increase in ghosts spawning, which were terrorizing the beastmen. So she and the Ten Heroic Beasts hunted them, including 3 they believed were Demigod Rank ghosts, and surely enough, she had 3 Spirit Crystal Stones.

(Ghah! This means I missed out on 3 Levels.)

Shea gave Allen the bag with the Spirit Stones and Spirit Crystal Stones, ignoring his shocked reaction.

'So, are you done saying your last words, my descendant?'

"Hmph, I'll make you eat those words with my fists."

(Exactly what relationship do they have? I believe Sacred Beasts first become Mythical Beasts, and then Divine Beasts.)

Merus had told Allen about that before. At some points Sacred Beasts became Mythical Beasts, gaining a lot of power in the process. Albahar was already a Mythical Beast.

Shea and Albahar went to a large arena, while Allen and the Ten Heroic Beasts watched.

(I wonder if she can win. I guess a Mythical Beast has around the strength of a Demigod Rank ghost.)

Kuwatoro was with Merle in the Earth Labyrinth, so Allen could not check Albahar's stats.

But a Demigod Rank ghost had stats around 100000.

"Excuse me, could we apply some buffs to Shea before the fight?"

If Allen's assumption was correct, Shea was no match to Albahar even with her Level maxed out.

'Of course, there's no point in trying to become strong alone. We beastmen thrive because we live in packs. Use as many buffs as you desire.'

He was perfectly fine with the idea.

(So those are the beastmen values, huh. I guess they value being a community a lot.)

"Alright, come here Shea. Sophie, bring out your spirits."

"Yes, Master Allen."

Sophie gave the buffs from her Great Spirits to Shea. Allen also used the Special and Awakened Skills from his Fish summons, as well as a Golden Egg.

The leader of the Ten Heroic Beasts, the Astrologist Temi was their leader, who together with Lepe also used their buff Skills.

'Hmm...'

Albahar watched on, squinting a little.

"Thanks for that, I'm ready now."

'Finally? I was about to fall asleep. Alright, come at me then!!'

Albahar did not forget to try riling her up.

"Raaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh!!"

Shea dashed forward, her feet cracking the floor as she ran with her fists ready.

Then she jumped, trying to strike Albahar's face with her orichalcum knuckle guards.

But she never got to hit him. His body became blurry like an after-image, before vanishing and appearing right in front of Shea and catching her fist.

"Ghah!"

At first she thought he was just trying to evade, but then his front arm threw a jab at her.

The hit sent Shea flying away, getting her body lodged into the walls of the arena.
