Chapter 135 - I Miss You

Name:Help...My Wife is a Spy Author:Yunyi
There were a few ways to get between Macau and Hong Kong. One could take a flight, a ferry or they could even drive across the recently opened bridge that connected the two cities.

Back in the days, Emerson would return home via his own private boat every day or just sleep at the hotel when it was too late. But, thanks to the bridge, his driver could now drive him back and forth between the two places within an hour one way.

Amelie sat inside Emerson's car and covered the drunk man with a blanket. A moment ago, the man had vomited all over the front of the casino and caused quite a stir. If it was someone else, they may have been fined for disorderly conduct, but he was the CEO of the casino, so the staff simply watched helplessly as the man got into his car and drove off, leaving behind a mess for them to clean.

"Haili, I've liked you for so long. Why won't you accept my feelings?" the drunk man mumbled as he rolled around in the car.

Amelie glanced at the man and was suddenly reminded of someone she knew: Alexander Dupont.

Alexander had said the same words to her just before she left France.

"Amelie, I've liked you for so long. Why won't you accept my feelings?"

Suddenly, memories of the man popped up in Amelie's head. They had spent an entire year together in the farmhouse in France. Even though every day was practically the same, they often chatted and found activities to do together to keep each other sane. There were even occasions when they slept together.

But, Amelie didn't think much of their relationship until the time that Jackson was unconscious in the hospital for 4 days. During those 4 days, she stayed by Jackson's side, but Alexander stayed by hers. He brought her food, water, he covered her when she slept and wiped her tears when she cried. And when Jackson woke up looking for Halia, Alexander comforted her and reassured her of how great she was. He even helped her accept the truth and move on.

Maybe because he was always around, she didn't notice how great he was and took him for granted. But, now that he wasn't there, she suddenly missed him...

She smiled as she thought about the man and picked up her phone. She then opened up a chat program and clicked on Alexander's name. After a little bit of hesitation, she typed a short message to the man: [Tu Me Manques (I miss you)].

...

Back at the restaurant in Macau, Natalie glanced at her watch once again. Another 20 minutes passed. The restaurant was only 10 minutes from the casino. Even if Sean was stuck in traffic, he would have arrived by then.

Natalie glanced at the little boy beside her. He was quietly reading a book and waiting for their guest to arrive. Natalie had told him that they were meeting a really good friend and he had been excited all day. After all, Natalie worked so hard that it wasn't common for her to make new friends, let alone introduce them to him. In fact, he only ever met Halia and Halia's family.

"Pumpkin, Mommy's friend might not be able to make it today. Why don't you start ordering before you starve," Natalie said.

The little boy picked up a menu. He couldn't read all the words on it yet, but luckily, there were pictures.

"This one looks yummy," he said as he pointed to a pizza with pumpkin, spinach, and ricotta.

This child loved his veggies and often preferred it over meat.

"That's a good choice," Natalie smiled as she turned to look for a waiter.

But, just as she was about to wave down someone, she saw Sean walk in through the front door.

"I'm sorry I'm late," he said apologetically as he ran over to the table. "I was caught up in traffic."

He then sat down opposite Natalie and glanced curiously at the little boy between them. The little boy was super adorable in his blue checkered shirt, blue bowtie, and black pants. His hair was slicked back and he had a little picture book in his hands.

Whose child was this? Was this Natalie's nephew or son?

Natalie patted the little boy on the head lovingly and said, "This is Mommy's friend. Go ahead and introduce yourself."

Sean looked at the little boy in surprise. Mommy?

"Hello, my name is Nathan, I am five and a half! If you are Mommy's friend, you can call me Pumpkin," he said as he spread one hand and curled one little finger on the other to signify five and a half.

Sean's expression softened as he hunched down to the little boy's height. "Why Pumpkin?" he asked.

"Because I love eating pumpkin," the little boy grinned.

Sean then sat up straight and said, "Well, we gotta make sure we pick you something with pumpkin in it."

Natalie was surprised by Sean's indifferent attitude. Didn't he mind that she already had a child? Didn't he have any questions?

Sean picked up the menu and pointed to a pizza on it. It was the exact same one that Nathan picked earlier. "How about this pizza?" he asked.

The little boy quickly nodded his head, "I already picked it!"

"That's a good choice!" Sean smiled.
