Chapter 167 - Father Feng's Angels

Name:Help...My Wife is a Spy Author:Yunyi
After Jackson explained everything that happened at the wharf, Amelie immediately pleaded for Jackson to take her to the hospital. But, he refused and said, "Alexander's identity has been revealed now, and I am about to go speak to the Chief Superintendent with Sean. If you reveal yourself as well, then we will only have Halia. We still need someone to assist Halia tonight. Don't forget, we agreed to go ahead with Father Feng's plan. I think the old man came up with a great idea. If we go as planned, we should get a confession from Mother Wu. Alexander's fine, the doctor already checked him and, apart from drinking a little bit of river water, he is perfectly fine."

"He is watching over Trojan at the moment. As soon as we get permission from the Chief Superintendent to continue with this case and detain Trojan under our rules, Alexander will be able to leave the hospital and I'll send in a team to replace him," Jackson explained.

Amelie calmed down and nodded her head. Jackson was right. She had been too impulsive.

In the end, Jackson drove Amelie and Halia back to the hotel and dropped them off in an inconspicuous corner of the carpark before he went to meet with Sean.

"Because it's late, Mother Wu and Father Wu are staying in the hotel penthouse for the night," Halia smiled cheekily. "Let's have some fun while the boys aren't around."

Amelie smiled enthusiastically and nodded her head. It had been a long time since she teamed up with another female agent. She suddenly felt a little bit like Charlie's Angels. No, to be exact, they were Father Feng's Angels; all they needed was a third female agent to join them.

At that moment, Halia received a phone call from Natalie, "Father Feng is putting Pumpkin to sleep but he handed me a room card before he headed into the bedroom. I'm not sure how he managed to do it, but he stole it from Father Wu when he wasn't looking and told me to bring it to you girls..."

Halia shook her head and sighed. Was her father a pickpocket in another life. Where did all these sneaky ideas come from?

"We'll meet you at Amelie and Jackson's suite in 10 minutes. We are heading upstairs now," Halia instructed.

"OK," Natalie agreed.

After she hung up the phone, Halia looked at Amelie and explained that Natalie was bringing them a room card for the penthouse. Amelie cheered on the inside; Natalie wasn't a qualified agent, but she would do as the third member of their team. Suddenly, she felt a little excited.

While the boys were away, the girls were out to play!

...

Later that evening, Mother Wu and Father Wu climbed into bed and got ready to go to sleep. It had been a long and rough couple of days, but now that the wedding ritual was over, it felt like Father Feng could finally move on and they no longer had to worry about him and Halia. All that was left was a simple funeral procession the next day and they could put everything behind them. Most importantly, Mother Wu could return to her normal life and get away with murder.

While she was lying in bed, Mother Wu suddenly received a phone call from a number she had never contacted before. The number was stored in her phone, but she never expected to use it. She quickly glanced at Father Wu. He was fast asleep. So, she climbed out of bed with her phone in her hand and snuck out to the living room to take the call.

"Why are you calling?" she asked.

This was the number of Trojan's assistant. Trojan had given the number to Mother Wu in case of an emergency, but she had never called the number and the number had never called her. Why was the assistant suddenly calling?

"Trojan's been compromised," a woman's voice said over the phone. "I had to shoot him."

Mother Wu's eyes quickly opened wide in shock. "What do you mean? Is he dead?"

"Just know that the organization will do everything they can to keep everyone's identity a secret. Lay low and don't try to contact Trojan. I will keep you updated," the woman replied before she hung up.

This woman was a professional sniper that was hired to assist and follow Trojan. She had been ordered to kill Trojan if he was ever compromised; it was the rules of the organization. So, when she saw Trojan getting handcuffed and the team of agents running up the pier, she had no choice but to pull the trigger.

Unfortunately, he had survived and was lying unconscious inside the hospital. She knew she had 12 hours to make sure the man was dead before the organization doubted her abilities and sent in someone else to take over. If someone else was sent in, she would be killed too!

But, even though Trojan was heavily guarded, the sniper was confident that she could sneak into the hospital room without any suspicion. All she had to do was dress up like a doctor or a nurse and inject something lethal into the man.

As she sat in the hospital waiting room, she watched as a doctor walked into her office. She had been observing the doctors and nurses for a while and she knew there was no one else in that particular office. So, she walked over, opened the door and quickly snuck inside.

A moment later, she stepped back out in a doctor's cloak and headed for Trojan's hospital room...

...

Back inside the hotel penthouse, Mother Wu's hands trembled as she put down her phone. She had worked with Trojan for many years and never expected the man to get caught.

At that moment, she remembered something that Father Feng said during the ghost wedding: "Come home, Haili. We know you died an innocent death. We will find everyone responsible and make sure justice is served."

Mother Wu felt a cold chill down her spine as she remembered the white-dressed woman she saw at the temple earlier. She then glanced at the clock on the wall; it was 5 minutes to midnight.

She shook her head and quickly went to fetch a glass of water. She had never been the superstitious type, but she had an ominous feeling at the pit of her stomach that she couldn't explain.

"Stop imagining things, Emma," she whispered to herself in frustration as she put the glass away and decided to return to bed.

But, at that very moment, she suddenly saw something flicker from the corner of her eye.

Something white! Like the hem of a dress...

Mother Wu quickly turned her head as her heart raced. What was it? Was someone else in the penthouse? Was it Father Wu?

Mother Wu quickly rubbed her eyes.

Just as she was about to ask who it was, a familiar melody suddenly started echoing through the dark penthouse. It was Beethoven's Fur Elise. Mother Wu looked towards the source of the music and realized it was coming from the clock!

The music meant...it was midnight...
