Elias inserted the syringe into the young woman's arm and she tilted her head back with satisfaction. The initial rush was the best. She couldn't imagine living another day without it. How did she live through so many years without experiencing this?
"Come to truck," Elias said as he opened the office door and grabbed Jaclyn's arm. "You stay until 8pm tonight. I bring you food later."
Jaclyn nodded her head obediently and followed the man out to the loading dock where the truck she had gotten out of earlier was still waiting. The truck driver that opened the club door for Jaclyn, immediately ran over and opened the back of the truck. Inside, there were three other women. Jaclyn looked at the three women with confusion. She remembered leaving Cologne with 5 other women, but they were dropped off at different locations along the way and she was the only one left in the truck when it pulled up at Muller that morning. Where did these three women come from?
The three women had their hands and legs tied and they were m.o.a.ning and groaning in discomfort as they rolled around on the floor. As light flowed in, they squinted their eyes in pain and looked at Jaclyn. Jaclyn could see the fear in their eyes. Only a few days ago, this was how she felt as well. She had almost forgotten what had happened to her.
That was right, she was heading out for a date when she was kidnapped and now she was all the way in Germany, heading for Italy. What were these people planning to do to her? What had they been injecting into her? Why did she feel like she had lost all logic? This wasn't her, she wasn't like this. Why did she return when she had already escaped?
As the truck door closed and she fell into darkness, she suddenly realized that she had done the wrong thing.
Just as she thought this, she suddenly heard a loud bang from outside.
"Open the door," a voice yelled.
Jaclyn lifted her head in surprise; she recognized the voice. It was her brother, Jackson.
How did he find her so quickly? Actually, now that she thought about it, how did he find her at John's place?
Jaclyn sat in the darkness and heard the other girls in the truck cry, "Help! Help!"
A moment later, the truck door opened and the light from outside quickly dispersed the darkness.
A dark male figure stood at the end of the truck as the light glowed from behind him like an angel. He then walked slowly over to Jaclyn, gently kneeled down in front of her and patted her on the head.
"Let me get you home. You need help," he said softly.
Jaclyn felt tears stream from her eyes as she leaned forward and hugged her brother. He was right, she needed help. Otherwise, why did she run away from safety straight into the arms of danger again? There was something very wrong with her. She had never been close to Jackson - they barely even saw each other - but in this foreign environment and in this confusing situation, she suddenly felt glad to see him. After all, he had flown halfway around the world to look for her and saved her twice: once from Mia and now from Mia's brother.
Of course, she had no idea that Mia was only trying to help her.
As Jaclyn stood up and stepped out of the truck, she glanced around and noticed that Elias and his men were all being arrested.
Jaclyn glanced worriedly at her brother. He was a gangster, were they going to arrest him too?
At that moment, one of the officers approached Jackson and saluted him, "Captain Wu, these men will be all taken back to the German branch of Interpol for questioning. Agent Roux and Agent Dupont from French Interpol have already arrested Jean Louis as well as the other traffickers that brought Miss Wu to Munich. Miss Wu will need to stay around to write a report and identify the traffickers. This is a huge case involving a few countries so it may take a while."
Jaclyn looked at her brother as the officer handed him some doc.u.ments and he began to flip through them with seriousness. Captain? Wasn't her brother a gangster?
Jackson saw the confusion in his sister's eyes and realized that she was kidnapped before Auntie Lily got the chance to update her on everything that had been happening back in Hong Kong and Macau.
"I guess we'll be staying in Munich for a bit," he replied to the officer. He then turned to his sister and said, "Let me take you back to the hotel and I'll explain everything to you."
Just as he said this, Jaclyn felt a warm jacket wrap around her shoulders. She subconsciously glanced back and saw a familiar face looking at her. She had only met this woman once, but she left quite an impression, "Haili? What are you doing here?"
The last time she saw Halia, Emerson had declared that she was his future girlfriend and that he was pursuing her. Had he succeeded? If he did, why was his girlfriend in Munich with Jackson?
Jackson wrapped his arm around Halia's shoulder and smiled at his sister. "This is your future sister-in-law," he announced.
Jaclyn glanced down at Halia's hand and saw the diamond ring on her finger. "Did Emerson propose already?" she asked in shock.
Jackson sighed. "Aren't you a university student?" he asked. "Why are you so dopey?"
He then intertwined his fingers with Halia's and placed a kiss on her forehead, "Halia is my fiancee."
Jaclyn looked at the two in shock as Halia giggled, "We'll explain everything to you later."
Meanwhile, not too far away, Trisha was also staring at the couple in shock. "Did you hear that?" she asked as she looked at Oliver. "The Captain said Halia's his fiancee..."
Oliver looked at Trisha indifferently, "I knew that ages ago."
Trisha frowned and threw a punch at the man's arm, "How did you know? Why didn't you tell me earlier?"
Oliver held onto his arm in pain. Trisha was a black belt in karate so her every punch was solid. "It was so obvious! Can't you see the ring on her finger and the bracelet around her wrist?" he asked.
Trisha stopped punching the man and glanced over at Halia again. That was when she saw the sparkling diamond ring and the little heart pendant dangling from her wrist. "J&H," she whispered as she read the Morse Code on the back.
She gasped in surprise and held her hand to her mouth. Why hadn't she noticed earlier? She must have looked like an idiot in front of Jackson.
Oliver saw the woman's cute reaction and felt his heart melt. But, at the same time, he felt slightly jealous. "Are you disappointed that your man's been taken?" he asked.
"No. I'm just disappointed that I can't be my idol's sidekick..." the woman sighed as she shook her head and looked at the couple. She then revealed a smile. "Now that I look at it, they look quite good together," she said with admiration.
Oliver glanced at Trisha and felt his heart light up with hope. "Idol? I thought you liked Captain Wu."
Trisha burst into laughter, "What are you talking about? He's not my type..."
