Chapter 292 - Emerson's First Concert

Name:Help...My Wife is a Spy Author:Yunyi
In less than no time, Emerson's car pulled up outside the large AsiaWorld-Expo building. At the front of the building, a line of excited ticketholders were already forming and there were also some ticket scalpers. Macaron was very popular in Hong Kong so they were holding 3 shows in total this time and each show was almost sold out, so it was a good opportunity for scalpers even though it was illegal.

Emerson scanned his eyes across the busy entrance and realized he couldn't enter through the front door. So, he instructed the driver to drive around to the back where security guards were watching the backdoor. Outside the backdoor, some fans were gathered with flashing signs and handmade banners but it wasn't as busy as the entrance.

After their rehearsal earlier, the girls had returned to their hotel for a little bit of rest and were due to return again soon, so their fans were hoping to catch a glance of them before they entered the venue.

Sure enough, just as Emerson stepped out of his luxurious Mercedes, a black van pulled up and the fans began to scream and cheer.

"Macaron! Macaron!" they chanted.

The security guards quickly ran forward and cleared a path between the van and the door.

Emerson continued to watch from afar. He had never been interested in the entertainment industry, so a scene like this was quite surprising to him. Did so many people like Macaron? He had never even heard of them before this.

Soon, the van door slid open and a professional-looking woman with glasses stepped out. Emerson immediately recognized her. It was Sue.

Sue smiled at the fans and gestured for them to calm down a little and the fans quickly quietened down a little.

A moment later, a pair of long legs poked out from the van and a beautiful young woman wearing black jean shorts and a white off-shoulder top stepped out. Her long milk-tea colored hair was tied into a high ponytail and her pretty pink eye makeup made her eyes glow as she looked around at the excited fans.

"Avaleigh, you look beautiful!" her fans screamed.

From a distance, Emerson smiled. Avaleigh looked strong and confident as she placed one hand on her hip and waved with her other hand, allowing for her fans to take some photos.

Behind her, the other girls stepped out and also paused for a photo.

"Mimi, look over here."

"Chu, show us your signature wink!"

"Ray, smile!"

After a brief 5 minutes, Sue clapped her hands together thankfully and led the 7 women into the venue.

"We love you," a fan screamed.

"Wishing you a good show!" another called out sincerely.

Emerson didn't know why, but he felt a sense of proudness. Avaleigh had achieved so much and it made him feel impressed. When they first met on the metro, he honestly thought she was just a normal person because she was so kind and down-to-earth. Who knew she was such a big celebrity?

As soon as the girls disappeared through the backdoor, the fans slowly left and walked around to join the queue at the front. Quickly, the area fell into silence like the fans were never there.

Emerson glanced at his driver and said, "I'll be back out when the concert is over."

The driver was a little surprised. Wasn't he just here to give a message? Why was he staying for the entire concert?

Seeing the confused look on his driver's face, Emerson smirked and said, "I've never been to a concert before. Why not take advantage of this opportunity, right?"

The young man scratched his head and nodded. "I guess..." he said with slight doubt in his voice.

Ignoring the man's doubt, Emerson walked towards the backdoor and presented a backstage pass to the security guards. The guard immediately opened the door and let him in.

As soon as Emerson stepped inside, he was surprised by how busy and chaotic the backstage was. It was nothing like what he saw earlier that day; this was the real thing and there was no time for mistakes. So, people were running around screaming instructions and pushing props and equipment around.

"One hour until showtime!" a woman screamed down the corridor.

Emerson quickly looked around for Avaleigh when he heard this. Would he be able to speak to her before she headed on stage?

Soon, he located the change room and knocked on the door. At first, the people inside ignored him. After all, it was quite noisy in the backstage. So, when Emerson realized no one was answering the door, he knocked again. This time he knocked a bit louder.

A moment later, the door finally opened and Sue looked at him in surprise. "President Wu," she gasped. She didn't know he would be there for the concert, especially not in the backstage. Danson's secretary was already in the auditorium greeting the invited press and media.

Unsure of what to say, she immediately stepped aside and welcomed the man into the room.

Inside the room, the girls had already changed into their opening costumes and were seated in front of a row of dressing tables.

Some of the girls were getting their hair styled, while others were getting their makeup done.

Avaleigh had her eyes closed at that moment as one of the makeup artists applied powder to her face.

Emerson glanced at her and felt his heart rate increase. He had finally found her. She looked beautiful underneath the lighting of the change room.

With a smile, he slowly approached her from behind.

But, just before he reached her, he felt an arm suddenly wrap around his.

"President Wu, did you come to watch the concert?" Mimi asked with a huge smile. The red lipstick on her lips made her smile look bigger than it was.

Emerson furrowed his brows and looked at the woman. He then glanced back at Avaleigh and noticed her eyes were open now and she was looking at him and Mimi through the reflection in the mirror. She also furrowed her brows when she saw that their arms were linked together.

"Close your eyes, Ava. I'm going to apply your eye makeup now," the makeup artist beside her said.

Avaleigh bit her lip with frustration and closed her eyes. She had been waiting 3 hours for the man to reply to her message earlier. But not only did he not reply, he even turned up and was being affectionate with Mimi.

Emerson saw Avaleigh close her eyes again and could sense that she was upset, so he quickly tried to brush Mimi aside and explain himself, but the woman held onto him with all her might. She saw the way he looked at Avaleigh earlier and she was not letting Avaleigh steal this man away from her.

Emerson Wu belonged to her!
