Chapter 342 - The Black Pearl

Name:Help...My Wife is a Spy Author:Yunyi
Over in Korea, Avaleigh's mother was also in the arms of a man. But...she was with a very different kind of man - a man that wanted to kill her!

She wanted to break free, but she was already in her fifties, while her captor was a strong and energetic young man in his mid to late twenties. She stood no chance against him.

Perhaps, from the moment she first met her ex-husband, this was a fate she could never escape. When she realized his identity, she had tried to break ties with him, but as it seemed, she had simply bought a bit of time for what was inevitable. At least, her daughter had grown up into a beautiful and successful young woman. But, what did the man mean earlier when he said her death was going to be more pleasant than her daughter's?

"Don't worry, this will all be over soon. At least, you won't be making a bloody mess like your daughter when I killed her..."

Mrs. Song's opened her eyes wide in shock. A bloody mess? Killed? Did this man kill her daughter? But...she had just spoken to her a few days ago! Plus, why hadn't she been notified of her daughter's death?

Shocked by the news of her daughter's death, Mrs. Song froze and a tear rolled down her cheek. She then closed her eyes in despair. Her poor daughter. She was in the prime of her life. She hadn't even fallen in love and started her own family yet. How could she be dead?

Mrs. Song stopped struggling. If her daughter was dead, then she had no reason to continue living. She might as well join her in the afterlife so she wouldn't be lonely.

But, just as she gave up hope...she suddenly felt the man release her mouth and neck.

She stumbled forward weakly and coughed a few times to catch her breath as she held her neck in surprise. The man let her go. Why?

Her head was a little dizzy from a lack of oxygen, but she shook it a few times and quickly regained her full consciousness. That was when she heard some tussling behind her.

In confusion, she turned around to see where the noise was coming from. To her surprise, another young man had entered the tent at some point and he was now fighting the man that almost killed her.

Both of them looked like professionally trained fighters, but her savior clearly looked like he had the upper hand as he predicted and dodged the killer's every move with ease.

Mrs. Song quickly retreated a few steps in shock as the men moved further into the tent. The father and daughter were camping in the park on their own, but they had brought a 10-person family tent to occupy as much space as possible. That was how they managed to take up the entire patch of grass under the bridge that was a little isolated from everyone else. This man had planned everything properly. He knew Mrs. Song went for a stroll in the park after dinner every day, so he set up early and waited there for her. Moreover, he knew she loved her daughter, so he brought his own daughter as bait. He was determined to take her life that day.

Killing a person was second nature to him and the black pearl tattooed to his arm was proof of this.

"Don't worry, Mrs. Song, I'm Sean. You're safe now," Sean said as he finally flipped the man onto his chest and restrained his arms behind his back. As he did so, he pulled down the man's sleeve to double-check the tattoo on his arm. A dragon that looked exactly the same as Herman Song's stared back at him, and in its mouth, was a black pearl. This was the competitor that Herman mentioned. He did not lie.

He had found Mrs. Song just in time.

Fortunately, he was passing by a moment ago, when he heard a muffled scream coming from the tent. A couple of other people thought they heard it too, but when they saw the little innocent girl sitting outside the tent, they simply thought her parents were 'having fun' inside the tent and dismissed it. After all, Korea was a relatively safe country. Who would expect a murder to be taking place in the middle of a public park?

But, Sean instinctively sensed something wasn't right.

He immediately picked up his phone and tried to call Mrs. Song again.

That was when he heard the faint sound of her phone ringing from inside the tent. He hung up, walked closer, and called again. The phone rang once again.

Mrs. Song was definitely inside. He was certain of it!

Without a second thought, he rushed into the tent just in time to see a man strangling a middle-aged woman. The woman had a teal tracksuit and matching teal sneakers. He found her.

That was how she was saved.

However, she did not look happy. Instead, she broke down in tears, "My daughter's dead, what's the point of living...?"

The killer sneered and deliberately tried to provoke the woman further, "We had some fun before she died. If her father wasn't Herman Song, you could have been Evie's new grandmother..."

Mrs. Song looked at the man in horror. What did he do to her daughter before she died?

But, just before she broke down further, Sean said to Mrs. Song, "Don't worry, Avaleigh's alive and well."

The killer laughed, "Alive? Impossible! I stabbed that little sl*t in the chest until she stopped breathing."

Sean looked down at the man and furrowed his brows, "Haven't you seen the news?" Clearly, this man had been so occupied with hunting down Mrs. Song that he didn't pay attention to the news. "You killed the wrong person. The woman you killed was called, Mimi Chan. She was Avaleigh's bandmate..."

Mrs. Song quickly looked at Sean with hope in her eyes, "That's right! Avaleigh called me a few days ago and told me Mimi died. Was this man the one that killed her?"
