When Kang Haon arrived on Earth, the first magic he used was to find his wife through the hair.

Instead of Han Binna, the owner of the hair, he discovered Narae, who was the most genetically similar.

Narae is currently living in an orphanage. That meant Han Binna had left the world. It had been 50 years on Gea, but only 5 years on Earth.

He had imagined many other scenarios that could happen to her, but nothing like this.

He wanted to know what had happened to Han Binna, but when he went to find her, Narae was the one who appeared in front of him. Narae was in the orphanage because her mother, Han Binna, had disappeared.

However, Kang Haon could not ask Narae about it.

Just as Han Binna had been everything to Kang Haon, Narae probably felt the same thing towards her.

“So, how did Narae end up here, and what happened to her mother?”

Kang Haon inquired about Han Binna now that Narae was no longer beside him.

“May I ask you a question first?”

Kang Haon nodded in response to Sister Margaret’s words.

“I heard you went missing shortly after your wedding, but why are you showing up now?”

“Can’t I be with Narae if I don’t respond?”

“I already confirmed that you are Narae’s biological father, so there is nothing I can do.”

Sister Margaret shrugged.

“However, I will do everything in my power to stop it; if someone who ran away irresponsibly turns out to be Narae’s biological father, I cannot simply let it go.”

Sister Margaret’s expression, which had been patient until now, became resolute.

‘She is very fond of Narae.’

Kang Haon was relieved to see that. He could tell Sister Margaret had taken good care of Narae while he and Han Binna were away.

“Could you please tell me?”

Kang Haon wished he could tell her everything, but he couldn’t do it immediately.

‘Will she think I’m insane if I just say it? ‘

It was a subject that would only appear in dimensional travel or fantasy novels.

If he said he had experienced such a thing himself, they would think he was crazy. He would feel the same way if he were in Sister Margaret’s shoes.

“I went to another world.”

However, Kang Haon stated the truth. He recalled what he had told Narae.

‘I promise that a dad does not lie.’ Kang Haon thought simply. He wanted to keep his promise to Narae, so he told her everything.

“On the first night of our honeymoon, I was summoned to another dimension called Gea, which was a place without science; it was like something out of a fantasy movie, using magic, and there were even actual orcs there.”

Kang Haon began to open up to Sister Margaret about his experiences. He continued speaking despite her expressions of surprise.

He told her that he had lived in Gea for 50 years and had traveled through dimensions just to see his beloved wife, Han Binna.

“You might find it difficult to believe?” Kang Haon asked Sister Margaret after he finished telling his story.

“You’ve been through a lot,” Sister Margaret said, wiping her teary eyes and offering words of comfort.

“Do you really believe me?” Kang Haon inquired, taken aback by her actions. He didn’t sense any falsehood in her actions.

“Yes, I do,” Sister Margaret nodded. She understood why Kang Haon had no knowledge of the awakened concept or the paternity test kit.

His knowledge was still stuck in the time before the concept of gates and abilities emerged.

“I don’t understand why you believe my story so easily,” Kang Haon said.

“Not only me, but anyone else who hears your story will believe everything you say, though some details may vary from person to person,” Sister Margaret said, wiping away her tears and explaining everything that had happened on Earth during Kang Haon’s five-year disappearance, including everything about gates, abilities, and hunters.

“Ah…” After hearing her words, Kang Haon began to understand everything that had previously seemed strange to him.

“That’s why Narae mistook the magic I used to clean her clothes for a type of ability, believing I was an awakened.”

‘So the nuns were all awakened too. Before, I found it strange that an ordinary woman from Earth can have the power of an intermediate knight, especially the fact that they can have the power of a superior knight like a nun in front of us. Now it just makes all sense.’

He finally knew that all the nuns he had seen here were awakened.

After that, he was able to learn about Han Binna and Narae.

“First and foremost, let us discuss Narae’s mother, Han Binna, who, as you may know, has passed away.”

Kang Haon had expected it, but he was still taken aback, and his heart sank. That was because Han Binna was the most important person in his life.

“Can you tell me exactly what happened?”

“Of course,” she says.

Sister Margaret nodded at him with sympathetic eyes.

Thus, Kang Haon was able to hear about his wife, Han Binna.

Han Binna was an awakened. Despite being the lowest-ranked F-class awakened, she and Narae were able to survive.

However, an accident happened.

It happened two years ago.

The Gate Boom.

The exact cause was not known, but it was a sudden phenomenon where many gates appeared consecutively.

Unfortunately, Han Binna was stationed where the Gate Boom occurred.

As a result of the accident, Han Binna’s body was lost, and Narae was left alone and ended up in an orphanage.

“Are you all right, Mr. Kang Haon?”

“Yes, I’m fine.”

Kang Haon calmly responded after hearing everything.

Sister Margaret, who was speaking, was taken aback by the sight.

Kang Haon realized from her words that her body had not been found. Also, he believed in his intuition.

Kang Haon had exceptional intuition, occasionally predicting the future.

“Excuse me, but do you know where I can learn more about Binna?”

“Well, you can go to the Awakened Management Office and hear all about the accident if you’re family.”

“Thank you.”

Kang Haon planned to find traces of Han Binna himself.

“He thinks she’s still alive.”

Sister Margaret saw right through Kang Haon’s thoughts. And while she was relieved, she also felt sorry for him.

She’d seen many cases where people couldn’t accept the deaths of their loved ones, and the outcomes were always the same.

“I hope she’s alive.”

But this time, she silently prayed that it would be different.

“By the way, there’s something you should do in preparation for Narae’s custody.”

“Preparation?”

“Why are you surprised? Of course, you need to be prepared before raising a child. Check what you have and don’t have here. I’ve prepared what you need before you can get Narae.”

Sister Margaret passed a piece of paper to Kang Haon.

“Changing the missing status, finding a place to live with Narae, and being financially capable of raising a child.”

Kang Haon’s responsibilities were outlined in the paper.

“Ah…”

Kang Haon went over everything and understood it all. They were all necessities for raising a child.

He was gradually adjusting to Earth’s common sense.

“I’ll have everything taken care of by today.”

Kang Haon replied enthusiastically.

He wanted to settle everything as soon as possible and live with Narae.

“I’ll be waiting.”

It wouldn’t be possible in a single day, but Sister Margaret was confident that Kang Haon would keep his word. Although she hadn’t known Kang Haon for long, she could tell that he was an exceptional person.

“Oh, Mr. Kang Haon, may I ask you something?” Sister Margaret stopped Kang Haon as he was about to leave the office.

“Yes, you may.”

“Why did you tell the truth earlier? You could have gotten into trouble.”

Sister Margaret didn’t quite understand. Kang Haon hadn’t known about the events of the past five years, and if he had spoken the truth in that state, he would have sounded crazy.

“Oh, that? I saw it on TV once. Kids can’t tell the difference between truth and lies. So when adults say something as they pass by, kids think of it as a promise.”

“I see.”

“But I promised Narae that I wouldn’t lie to her.”

“It seems like you could be a good father, Kang Haon.”

“Do you think so? Thank you.”

Kang Haon opened the door to leave, but stopped.

“Can I just see Narae’s face once before I go?”

He felt too regretful to leave without seeing her.

“Of course.”

“Thank you!”

Kang Haon looked at Narae sleeping for a while before leaving the orphanage to prepare to become a full-fledged father.
