CH 115

Name:Heroine On Strike Author:Sharino
“What? How?” asked Ella.

“Not sure. But I’ll take care of it. You focus on the upcoming drought. And don’t make conclusions on your residential problem too hastily. There are still too many variables ahead.”

There was still a lot to talk about, but Xyle stood up from the seat as if he wasn’t interested in any of it. He seemed to leave at once. It was hard to believe that he was too focused on private matters, acted on his feelings and forgot that they were talking about important matters that people’s lives depended on.

“Oh! Do you have the shopping list from that pipsqueak?”

Fortunately, he didn’t seem to throw away all of his consciousness. Ella hurriedly reached in and took out the list she got from Didi and handed it over to him. Xyle scanned through it quickly and marked a few items.

“I’ll prepare these. Use the money from Constance to take care of the rest. And we’ll think about the unidentified list below. We still have time for that. So, what now? Are you not done eating yet?”

Was he always this quick-tempered? Ella couldn’t adjust to Xyle’s change. She became silent and looked at him astonished, causing him to call her name.

“Ella?”

“Oh, no. I’m done. You’re going to leave. Right? We’ll… come back again next time.”

Somehow, the mealtime always ended so abruptly when Ella visited a delicious place. She was on the verge of being left alone, so she could not stop being frustrated.

‘I don’t even have Joanne with me.’

Even though Ella was wearing clothes that commoners wear, it still felt frustrating to even think of trying to find her a rental carriage all by herself.

“That’s good. Let’s leave.”

Xyle left Ella, who was worried about the future ahead, behind. She then took a long stride out of the diner.

‘Wait. He’s not going to leave me behind. Is he?’ Ella became startled and hurried out. Fortunately, Xylem was waiting for her outside.

“I’ll send you to the front of the estate. Don’t wander around alone like last time. Go home.”

With that, Ella was sent to the front of the estate at once. She was sent without being given the time to say goodbye. Now she was standing in front of the Constance estate’s giant gate, standing and blinking dumbfoundedly.

Who am I? Where is this place?

Ella stood there with a dazed look when a knight appeared from inside the gate and woke her up.

“Milady! What are you doing out there all alone? Where’s your maid and the carriage… Wait. Was there an incident?”

The knight poured all kinds of questions out as he walked over to Ella. After checking her clothing, he concluded that something had happened. He couldn’t lay his hands on her, so he just looked around her. His frustration called Ella back to her senses.

“No, it’s fine, Sir Beed. Joanne and the carriage will return soon. I was in a hurry, so I asked the Tower Master to send me back first. It’s my first time moving like this, so I was just a bit dizzy. Please don’t mind me.”

With the kind and warm lady of the marquis mask on, Ella made a smile that was enough to be considered the pinnacle of a lady. Touched, the knight Beed nodded, took out a small whistle, and blew it. It was a sound to call other people over. He checked his fellow knights coming over and told Ella to wait. Then, he ran up to them and came back.

“I’ve sent a message to the mansion. The butler will send a carriage. Please wait inside the outpost. It’s not comfortable, but it’ll be better than standing here.”

His face blushed, almost like it was burning, and sweat ran down his face. It almost seemed like he would die from a heart attack if only the two of them waited inside the outpost.

‘Is he acting like that because of the buff too?’
