If she could, she wanted to call Didi right now to make him cut the nonsense and stop this insanity at once. It seemed she had to take back the words that she said to her father saying she could take care of herself at this rate. This wasn’t the point of taking care of herself or not. Feelings were moving on their own against everyone’s will. At this rate, she was going to die from being overwhelmed by men before she saved the world.
But as time passed, she felt others watching her. There were eyes filled with jealousy because she had Cladis. Now, there were more because of Vylun.
‘This is a side effect I didn’t expect.’ Maybe she was going to die from the jealousy first.
“What do you mean?” asked Vylun.
Ella glared at him because of his innocent answer that sounded like a lie and turned to look at the front. Then, she responded, “You’ll make a hole in my face. You’re just drawing more attention to me as well.”
After she responded, Vylun quickly scanned the party and saw those who were looking at Ella. Their eyes were filled with adoration and jealousy complicatedly mixed together. He didn’t know that half of that jealousy was caused by him, so he was just worried that this attention was too much for a 17-year-old girl to endure.
“Do you always get this kind of attention?” asked Vylun.
“Yes, so I am used to it. But thanks to you, I am getting more than I’m used to.”
“Me?” questioned Vylun.
“I’m getting attention from women who have a crush on you as well.”
“Oh…” said Vylun.
Vylun moaned with acknowledgment, then nodded in understanding and looked at Ella. There wasn’t even a hint of arrogance that a man might show when his popularity is revealed in front of his romantic interest. But it didn’t feel strange, maybe because he had always been in that state.
‘My brother has an astonishing friend,’ thought Ella. While she was surprised and occupied with complimenting Eric, who wouldn’t know of this, she heard a familiar voice interrupt them.
“Lady Constance. I was waiting for you. How have you been?”
Surprised, Ella looked around. It was Dayson, approaching her and Vylun while looking only at her. She then responded, “Count Willan. Good to see you again.”
Ella was a bit surprised by his unexpected appearance and slightly bowed to greet him. He had a kind face as always and looked at her with amiable brown eyes that made it impossible to know what was hiding behind them. He was a gentle and kind man that any woman would have a crush on.
But today, Ella found him uncomfortable. There was one thing on her mind, ‘Why is he here?’
Although the original novel didn’t have much meaning anymore, Dayson never appeared after that day in the book. He was just the host of a party that Ella first went to after her debutante and the stepson of the empress that Cladis sometimes spoke of. That was it.
That person’s appearance had to be over after a quick greeting. However, that man spoke to Ella, danced with her, even led her to a weird meeting, and offered her a deal.
‘Was Dayson affected by the Invited Guest buff as well?’
Ella found the relief that she had when looking at the knights’ response yesterday after learning that not everyone will fall in love with her, becoming less relevant now. Two important figures suddenly fell in love with her. She truly didn’t need either of them.
‘Damn buff.’
While Ella had a dilemma over the Invited Guest buff, the two men began looking at each other in a silent battle. When Dayson walked closer toward Ella, Vylun naturally changed her position without her noticing. The battle between Vylun, a giant and sleek jaguar-like man, and Dayson, an obedient giant dog who knew nothing about fighting, seemed it would end easily, but it went on for quite a while.
After Ella was moved two times, Dayson stopped and glared at Vylun. Vylun also looked down on him with cold eyes. He truly didn’t like this unwanted guest.
“What is the meaning of this?” demanded Dayson.
