Didi then finally nodded, realizing only after Ella’s long speech. She did her best compared to the other Invited Guests who listened to this man’s explanation. He knew nothing about women even though he had lived for a very long time.

Glaring at him, Ella asked, “Don’t you have any woman in your team?”

“How did you know? One of my mates hates women, so we’re all men. There’s no one like us. Oh, how unfortunate of us. Why am I stuck with a guy like him…” Didi rambled while remembering his teammate, but Ella let out a sigh. Even though she had made a guess, it was actually true.

“Women are very sensitive. It’s better when I have someone who truly likes me rather than having a lot of people interested in me. We don’t want artificial feelings. We want to be loved genuinely.”

“Hey, men are like that too.”

Didi protested Ella’s words, which she used against him. “Yeah, so do you think it would be nice to hear that buff would be nice for it?”

“Do you not?”

“No. Never.”

“That’s hard.”

“People’s minds are complicated.”

Didi laughed at Ella, who almost looked like she was teaching a young kid. It was quite funny in a way since she was only 38 years old, trying to teach the much older Didi, but what she said was reasonable. Then, he commented, “But I can’t make it go away completely. It’s hard to get it lifted just from you too. Making an exception for one person is actually more expensive.”

“Then how about you reduce the intensity of it on both Clara and me? It would be problematic if I don’t have it, but Clara does. Otherwise, that’ll give her the upper hand,” suggested Ella.

“Wait. Reducing it on both of you… That sounds good.” Didi took out a calculator-like object from his pocket and began tapping on it. After frowning multiple times, he looked up at Ella again and said, “I can’t make it go away, but I think I can decrease it a bit. I can bring it down to a level that’ll make you look friendly. That’s good, right? Or you don’t want that either?”

“Is it really just ‘friendly?’” asked Ella with a suspicious look at Didi. She didn’t want to stand in between men, who fell for her without her expecting it, in their fight for their prize. “You said that it wouldn’t make anyone fall in love with me, but look. Even today, I had two. Do you know how weird it feels to have two men, who I almost never met, suddenly fight over themselves for me?”

“You mean those two over there?” asked Didi.

“Yes, those two.”

Didi looked at Ella, annoyingly looking over the terrace towards the party hall, and grinned, ‘She really hated it.’

However, to her misunderstanding, what happened just now wasn’t only because of the buff. “But what I said was true. If what you’re saying is true, then shouldn’t every man in this party drool over you by now? But look, they aren’t doing that. That was probably the case with other parties as well. No?”

“Huh? You’re actually right.”

Ella became surprised at Didi’s claim and looked back at him. He was right. Today was the third party. She gained much expected attention, but that was expected considering what she symbolized. Those two men were the only ones who reacted differently.

‘Why were they different?’ Ella questioned herself, to which Didi looked at her and brought her attention to him.

“Since I can fix two settings thanks to you, I will give you a hint. It’s a very, very important hint so listen carefully,” said Didi.

“A hint?”

Didi’s smile deepened at Ella, who seemed eager to learn. Before he gave the answer to Ella, he licked his lips to hide his nervousness. After calming himself down, Didi opened his mouth, “Yes. There is a common ground between them. That’s what made them go against each other today.”

“Common ground? What was it?”
