This Mung Bean Soup Is Too Delicious
Xia Bohe turned around to grab her phone and finally found the changing room.
She opened the door of the changing room as she answered the phone call.
Lights lit up all around her. The pearlescent lighting filled the room to reveal a wall full of branded handbags, a wall full of shoes, and a wall full of dresses arranged according to their lengths. Meanwhile, a pastel pink chaise lounge sat in the center of the changing room with a transparent glass jewelry display counter beside it. It seemed to be arranged that way so that one could lie on the chaise lounge and spend some time thinking about what bedazzling accessories to wear before going out.
“Oh my goodness,” she gasped.
Xia Bohe turned starry-eyed.
Luckily, her phone’s vibration pulled her attention away from the luxurious decadence of the room just in time.
“Hey there, Bohe.”
A kind and familiar voice that also sounded distant at the same time called out from the phone. It immediately woke her up from the luxurious fever dream she was immersed in.
It took some time for Xia Bohe to register the identity of the person talking to her on the phone. “Dean Zheng?” she asked.
Zheng Qingshan, the dean of the Performing Arts Faculty?
“Yes, Bohe. Teacher Chen is here as well.”
Teacher Chen Jianbang, the teacher in charge of the annual play rehearsal just now? Her first-year lines teacher?
Xia Bohe’s initial thought was that the teachers had discovered that she did not clean up the hall.
However, Chen Jianbang’s kind voice rang out joyously.
“Student Xia, your performance in the annual play was marvelous. A few talent management companies are keen to discuss signing a contract with you,” he said.
Xia Bohe was dumbfounded.
So soon?
She had only been back for a few hours.
Thinking about it again, she was not surprised. The original host was beyond gorgeous and very much capable of outshining even a group of amorous girls from the film industry.
Furthermore, she had used all possible means to portray the terminally-ill role as best as she could, among them being the Beauty System’s skills and the effect of the Pain Experience Pill. There was no doubt that her acting would have gained some recognition.
Theoretically, the agency representatives on-site should have thought of signing a contract with her.
They should have approached her straight away after the play had ended.
It was considered late that they were coming now!
“The rules state that an agency must approach and gain the school’s approval first if they intend to sign a contract with a student.”
Xia Bohe had a better understanding after listening to Chen Jianbang’s explanation.
“We have shortlisted a few agencies that match up to our standards and took down their contacts. I will forward the list to you later,” he added.
“Alright. Thank you, Teacher Chen.”
Xia Bohe thanked him.
She almost leaped up into the air on the spot in the changing room.
As a lowly extra in her past life, she had not received any responses despite proactively seeking opportunities with talent management companies. Being scouted or having caught the eye of a talent agent or company was next to impossible.
She had finally succeeded in taking the first step toward her dream in this life!
The pleasure that came with being surrounded by countless contracts was so immensely satisfying!
She had not even had the time to put on something. Holding her phone in her hand, she started dancing the moonwalk in the changing room joyfully.
As she pranced around happily, she felt a sharp gaze land on her back.
She instantly stiffened and raised her head to look at the full-body mirror in the corner. The image of Luo Tianlin, who had his arms crossed and brows raised while looking straight at her, was reflected through the mirror.
“...”
She remained frozen in a cheering stance.
How awkward!
Xia Bohe coughed lightly and put on a jacket embroidered with a Chanel logo. She lowered her head at once and sat down obediently on the sofa by the side of the bedroom.
She acted nonchalantly as if nothing had happened at all.
Nevertheless, Zheng Qingshan’s next words caused her to almost lose her composure again.
“The holidays are coming up soon and everyone will be interning in filming crews. Bohe, I have an old friend who is looking for someone to take on a minor role in a film. The audition is tomorrow. You should go try out,” she said.
She would be acting in a film soon?
Xia Bohe held up the phone, her arm trembling slightly.
“Teacher, do you have, have the script?” she asked, her voice wavering.
In her past life, she had always been waiting and standing by on-site at shooting locations for every opportunity to act as an extra.
Nonetheless, the most she had gotten every month was three to four roles with one to two lines each!
“Yes… After looking at the script, you will know that there are a good amount of scenes. You won’t have much time to prepare for tomorrow’s audition, but I understood from Teacher Chen that your impromptu performance is pretty good.”
Zheng Qingshan’s voice was kind and friendly, much unlike her usual stern self.
Xia Bohe’s hearing felt slightly muffled. The voice coming from the phone sounded distant but close at the same time. Despite only being able to vaguely register what was being told to her, she could tell that it was the best thing that had ever happened to her.
“I will send you the overview of the character and audition script. Prepare well if you decide to go for it. This is a very good opportunity,” Zheng Qingshan continued.
“Alright, alright…”
Xia Bohe’s hand trembled uncontrollably. Her voice wavered slightly as well.
She would be acting in a good amount of scenes!
...
There would even be an audition just for the role!
She could not stop herself from trembling.
She gulped forcefully and tried her best to look calm. She then took a big scoop of the chilled mung bean soup on the small side table and swallowed it.
Luo Tianlin stared at her while seated on a leather sofa. Her eyes shone whereas her flushed face beamed ecstatically.
He looked at her questionably.
Xia Bohe noticed his gaze and took in a deep breath. She attempted to say something.
“It is because this mung bean soup...is way too delicious…”
She was about to fly high up!!!
“Uh...It is my first time drinking something like this...There are even lily buds in it…” she stuttered.
She felt like crying.
