"Why is he smiling like that?" Samuel thought. Nothing better came to mind than seeing one's gloomy person smiling suddenly; it felt strongly ominous. Luckily, Oscar asked David instead of waiting any longer.
"What are you so happy about?" asked Oscar.
"Why? Can't you stomach my happy face?" He took a jab at Oscar instead of answering the question.
"No, I am also curious about Uncle's 'sudden' happiness, " Samuel intrigued.
"Oh, it's nothing; I am happy because I finally got to go out after so many years. Besides, there was nothing to worry about here, so it became a short vacation for me." David answered, but his later response raised more questions.
"Nothing to worry about? What do you mean?" Samuel asked.
"I will tell you more about it, but we should probably move. It is not good to stand around in the open for a long time." David said and instructed his subordinates to take care of the luggage.
It was taking a lot of time, so Samuel agreed. Everyone moved into several vehicles, ready to head out. Samuel, Adele, Hannah, Iblis, and Karoline took one of the cars with David in the driver seat with Oscar riding shotgun.
It looked like a typical everyday car, but upon opening the door, one would see the heavily modified parts. Luxurious seats with fine leather finishes, amplified with custom driving seats.
"I thought it was normal car, It seems a little bit excessive to me." Adele said to which Samuel also nodded along.
"No, this is perfect. David has good taste. This will blend in traffic perfectly." Karoline is impressed with the attention to detail.
"Well, I have to do something while I am here," David said, but he was too discreet with his words this time too.
Although she left everything about safely to the Rothchild family, she still needed to stay alert and watch out for potential dangers.
"Well, with bigger fish here, I could relax a little." Karoline thought and smiled at Samuel.
We drove out of the Airport exit, where several people were standing. They were waiting for the convoy; David stopped the car and walked out while others watched from the inside.
"Is something wrong ?" asked Iblis, but no one answered. David left abruptly like he was anticipating it.
"Don't worry; David doesn't look tense; there should not be any problem." After analyzing the situation, Oscar concluded just as he predicted, the people in front shook hands with David. They talked for a few seconds before David returned to the driver's seat, starting the engine.
"What was that about?" asked Oscar.
"Oh, nothing. Just some clearance matter. Nothing serious. They were just thanking me about an earlier matter." said David.
"Something definitely happened; you have been avoiding our questions since we landed. You better tell me what you are planning before I kick your ass, " Oscar said, frustrated with David's strange behavior.
"I can't tell you everything, but I could tell you about the people present at the gate. Do you know where we are right now?" asked David, which puzzled everyone except for Oscar, who got even madder.
As the person responsible for overseeing everything, it was the worst-case scenario for him.
He was about to smash the back of his head, but Karoline grabbed him before he did something foolish.
Disturbing the driver while driving is the worst thing you could do while riding in any vehicle.
"David you better start talking before this idiot do some thing drastic." said Karoline.
"Okay, we just left Haneda Airport, none of you paid any attention but it can't be helped." said David.
"Haneda, I thought we were scheduled for Narita International Airport... hold on, I thought there was only one international airport around Tokyo, you dumbass; you changed the whole plan without consulting me," asked Oscar. He is pissed that David didn't consult him before changing plans, but Karoline smacked him on his back to remind him of the children.
Samuel and others were exposed to such language, but Hannah is a particular case; even Iblis carries herself like a lady in public.
Oscar composed himself before David continued.
"Well, don't get mad at me; something happened. a Few days ago, the Imperial family contacted me. They insisted on helping, and I wanted to refuse, but they had already talked to Grandpa Kenneth and Brother Robert. I don't know how but they somehow got wind of our advance party.
They also helped secure a spot for our flight. You know this airport doesn't handle international traffic." said David.
Haneda Airport, sometimes called Tokyo Haneda Airport or Haneda International Airport, is one of two international airports serving the Greater Tokyo Area, the other being Narita International Airport (NRT). It serves as the primary base of Japan's two major domestic airlines, Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways.
Haneda was the primary international airport serving Tokyo until 1978; Haneda handled almost all domestic flights to and from Tokyo as well as "scheduled charter" flights to a small number of major cities in East and Southeast Asia, while Narita International Airport handled the vast majority of international flights from other locations.
David, with the help of the Japanese Government, secured a spot for our flight to land here. It is much nearer to Tokyo city.
"Yesterday, I also met up with Crown Prince, it was a hassle, one thing led to another and I told him about the trip. He insisted that we should stay in the Palace. He wanted to meet Samuel to thank him in person. "He said as everyone else listened.
"Don't tell me we are visiting the Palace. It is too much, they have already sent gifts to thank me." said Samuel, helpless about everything. He just wanted some peace for a few days. He has been running around all day from the introduction party to the book writing and learning acting. Now, suddenly he has more work piled up in front of him.
"It is not as bad as you think, I have visited the Palace, it will be a good change of scenery for everyone. Without this option, we had to book a hotel which sounds great but will never compare to the Palace's environment." said Oscar.
"Yeah, I have also heard about it. They say it is a very popular tourist attraction. Just like Buckingham Palace." said Iblis.
Adele and Hannah were clueless about everything; they only understood it was a big deal and left the decision to Samuel. Everyone stared at him for a couple of seconds, waiting for his judgment.
"Okay, we would be out for most of the week, so, it is not a bad thing to spend night at the Palace." said Samuel cementing his choice.
"Okay, we are moving toward the Palace located at the heart of Tokyo. I have already informed them about our schedule, so it will not be a problem even if it is early in the morning. "David said and focused on driving.
It was early in the morning, so the area had minimal traffic. Tokyo, in the land of the rising sun, is an iconic location.
Adele, Iblis, and Hannah looked around curiously, breathing in the unfamiliar place. Samuel, on the other hand, came prepared for the occasion. He has already absorbed most of the details about the area from the source, thus, he was about to start his explanation but interrupted, trying to show his knowledge.
"Did you know that Japan is called the land of the rising sun?"
"Heh, everyone knows about it? right?" Karoline said, mocking him.
"Not everyone, I am sure some people just started learning, right Hannah?" said Oscar.
"I already knew it. We started learning about maps during our practical classes, which was one of the first things teachers taught us." Hannah said, triumphally deflating Oscar's ego.
Samuel took this chance to explain further. He listed out the whole history of the place in a few minutes.
Tokyo, the capital of Japan. It is the country's largest city and third in global standing.
It is located in east-central Honshu at the head of Tokyo Bay. The site has been inhabited since ancient times.
The small fishing village of Edo existed there for centuries before it became the capital of the Tokugawa shogunate in 1603, at the start of the Edo period.
By the 19th century, it was one of the largest cities in the world, with a population exceeding 1,000,000. Under the Meiji Restoration, in 1868, it replaced Kyōto as the imperial capital, and Edo was renamed Tokyo, which also meant Eastern Capital.
"Wow, how do you know all this?" said Iblis, while others were amazed by my explanation.
"I read sometimes and I have a good memory." said Samuel as he started to list more facts.
The country Japan is prone to regular natural disasters due to its geographical location.
A massive earthquake in the region in 1923 destroyed most of the city and killed at least 100,000 people, but most of it had been rebuilt by 1930. Much of it was again devastated by the U.S. bombing during World War II and had to be reconstructed.
The Summer Olympic Games were held there in 1964.
Tokyo is the administrative, cultural, financial, commercial, and educational center of Japan and the focus of an extensive urban complex that includes Kawasaki and Yokohama. Attractions include the Imperial Palace, encircled by stone-walled moats, broad gardens, and numerous temples and shrines. There are some 150 institutions of higher learning, including the University of Tokyo (1877).
Like a history teacher, he started going on and on about the subject.
"Stop, stop, I get it. Too many details." Adele and Iblis said, simultaneously stopping the information train.
Hannah listened but started getting sleepy, while Karoline and Oscar stayed silent.
"I think we should admire the view and stay silent," suggested Karoline, which made Oscar laugh. Seeing her helpless in the face of Samuel is very amusing to him.
Everyone enjoyed the ride and talked about different plans. Now that they have changed location, they have easier access to most things, so the project needs adjusting. They immersed themselves in the discussion, but the Palace came into view.
