" Wait! Are you going there? I will call my lawyer-" Darren was interrupted.
" Don't worry about it; I will handle it."
" I am so sorry..." Anne was on the floor apologizing over and over again. She regarded him as her benefactor who finally gave her a chance, but now, his reputation would be ruined because of her.
" Miss Anne, It's nothing to do with you. I did it independently, so don't feel sorry about it. Even if he was the president, I would have done the same thing more discreetly." Samuel joked.
" But-"
" If you are sorry, please calm everyone down and not let them make a big deal about it." He didn't want the news to spread just yet. The opponent was not easy, so a pre-emptive strike could sour the relationship before it even started.
" I-i will trust you." She wiped off the tear and, with a strong resolve, returned to do her best. She was not the only victim, so she could gain some sympathy from her colleagues.
" I should inform Emma-" Rupert was about to barge in, but Samuel stopped him.
" Now is not the time; you must head for London in a few hours. I don't want to foil your plans over this."
" How can you say that? We will go with you!" Darren said what Rupert was about to say.
" No, you also stay here and as soon as Emma comes out, take her and Elise with you to the station but don't come inside; I don't want Elise to go into that place." Samuel was worried it would be traumatic seeing Samuel being questioned; he couldn't risk her progress like this!
They stayed silent for a few seconds, trying to come up with something to oppose his decision.
" Please trust me on this. I have a plan, and you will only be an inconvenience if you accompany me." Seeing him plead like this, they accepted his proposition. He handed his car keys to Darren and strictly told him he would not let it slide if he messed up his baby and walked out.
As he reached the entrance, he saw a crowd gathering beside it. They also noticed his presence but didn't say anything; he could see Anne standing at the front.
" It looks like she held her promise. I like the confident expression more than the meek one." Samuel thought and started walking out.
"Mr Abel, thank you for your generosity!"
" Please visit us again next year!"
"Mr Abel"
People started shouting when he turned his back, but he kept walking. They were showing too much compassion, but with his small deed, it seemed they were truly abused under Jake's management. He could see a gathering outside; it looked like the opponent didn't pull any punches this time.
Samuel pulled out his phone and sent a few things to Abigail before heading outside.
...
...
...I think you should take a look at
" Sir, I don't think you should do it." One of his subordinates urged him to change his mind.
" Shut up! How dare he raise his hand against me? I will ruin his career!" Jake was furious. He was very out of it when he woke up, and when he found out he was knocked out cold in front of his employee, he was prepared to raise hell!
After notifying his family, he went to the police first and reported a complaint. Even if it went to court, he had plenty of witnesses and large capital to sustain the case long enough to win it. Even if it was a beloved actor like Sam, he was certain he could sway the public in his favour.
" But, we didn't have any orders from your father yet. If you act on your own, he will be angry." He again tried to put some sense in Jake's head. It was because the situation was strange; any other time, the family would be furious, but there was not even a peep from them right now. He concluded that Jake's opponent was not as easy as he expected.
" Fuck off! I don't need you to tell me what I should do. Did you contact them?" Jake asked.
" I-i didn't.."
" Useless! I told you, I want his face everywhere! Leave! I will do it on my own; bring me my phone." Jake asked. His subordinate did as he was told, he was reluctant to do it, but he couldn't go against his order.
He left the room and dialled the chief secretary just in case. Although he was responsible for serving Jake, his loyalty lies with his family first. He told him everything that happened, and he was shocked to hear their reply, but it was too late when he went inside to warn Jake.
Jake had already contacted major news outlets and told them to report on the news about how the Harry Potter actor publicly assaulted him.
It was too late, even if he wanted to retract his statement. The bloodhound had already caught a scent, and there was no way they would let their prey go without devouring it to the bone!
Meanwhile, inside the car, Joshua was rushing outside the city to meet Delphine. She was not at the office, so he could only visit her estate on the outskirt of Paris. His secretary also accompanied him, and he just got some bad news.
" Sir, something terrible happened!" He exclaimed after hanging up.
" What! Say it properly!" Joshua asked, but his secretary got another call, he bowed and picked it up, and after listening for a few seconds, his face went pale. He got two disastrous news one by one!
" What? Sorry for raising my voice, but are you sure, sir?" After confirming two more times, he hung up the phone.
" How long are you going to keep me waiting!?" Joshua roared. His heart was restless seeing his secretary's worried face.
" Young master Jake filed a formal complaint and reported to the news outlet about the incident." He said meekly.
" That brat! I told him to stay low.."
" That's not all; I got off the phone with one of our clients in the States. He said Sam revealed his identity during a feud with Saudi Prince a few months ago. He is indeed the heir of the Rothschild family!"
" Shit! How reliable is he?" Joshua didn't fully accept it, but his secretary next words cemented it.
" He was there when it happened in one of the country clubs. It is a well-known secret in top echelons, but because Samuel didn't want extra attention, everyone has kept quiet about it."
" Fuck! Contact the office first and tell them to make preparations. You go and find him first to resolve the matter. I will rush to see the lady." Joshua was not one to tense up under pressure. He gave orders like a veteran and rushed to his destination.
