Chapter 580 "Know when you are beaten."-2
Joon Woo returned to his office along with his secretary. He thought about how to resolve the issue with LVHM, he could play a long game but that's never been his style.
" Sir, it's time for your medicine." The secretary unlocked the small cupboard to pull out few stashes of different pills and handed it to him.
" It's that late already?"
" Is it getting worse? You were yelling a lot earlier."
" Don't worry about it." He popped out few tablet and gulped them down with a glass of water. He knew his time was running out but he had to stand firm for his legacy.
" You should head back home, Madam has been clamoring for you take few days off-"
" I said I am fine. I will not kick the bucket right now, I still have few years." Despite him saying it, the recent medical results were not positive. It showed his cancer being running rampant, growing at exponential rate. If he didn't go into surgery in few months, he could lose his life.
The only reason for him powering through it was him not wanting to give outside forces any chance to capitalize on his illness to devour his company. Staying at the top of the food chain was a tricky matter, if he made any mistakes he would be hunted down and that would be his downfall.
He wanted his corporation to be stable so that he could disappear for few months hopefully recovering from his surgery out of public's eye. That was the best case scenario because the success rate that the best doctors in the country had given him was fifty percent at most.
" Sir-"
" Leave now! I want to be alone for time being. Don't let anyone come inside alright?"
" Yes sir." The secretary knew how stubborn the old man was and did as he was told. He was the only other person that knew about his illness other than his wife and doctors.
Joon Woo, leaned back experiencing some pain in his chest. He calmed himself down waiting for the pain to reside first. Lately pain had been flaring up at odd hours of the day and he knew it was getting close. Soon, he wouldn't be able to hide it.n(/0velbIn
He immediately stopped thinking about those dire situation and opened his cabinet to pull out his work phone. SK and LVHM had a half decade long relationship at this point which meant he had met the chairman of the group several times during parties and get together.
He searched his contacts and finally landed on the familiar name. He dialed the number hoping that other party still had his number.

...
" Sir, it's him. What are you going to do?" the person said asking the man that was busy peering through the window watching the people going to work.
" I thought he would call yesterday, I guess his illness is taking a toll on his body. Give me the phone." The man took the phone from his subordinate and answered the call.
" Hello, Mr. Ajors?"
" Yes, I been expecting your call Mr. Joon." Hearing him speak camly Joon was little relieved. It was completely normal if his call was ignored.
" Then you know why I called right?"
" That's right." The man didn't say anything else, Joon took it as an insult. Did he want him to say it out loud?
" When we first partnered, I know we were an emerging business but same couldn't be said now. So, you shouldn't expect me to beg for it."
" I don't like it when people beg. It was a purely a business decision, in all honesty, I liked out partnership but sometimes, you have to made some decision without emotions."
Joon Woo knew how cunning Harvey Ajors was. A man who build a billion dollar empire with his bare hands was not a simple person. The saying that 'keep your friends close but your enemies closer' was a perfect fit for his personality.
But unlike what people normally do, like relying on flattery or benefits, he treated everyone the same. Whether a friend or a foe, they were treated with dignity and respect not knowing which camp they fell under inside his mind.
But one other thing stayed consistent with him, the profit. He would never go into any deal without raking in much more than his previous deal. The reason was simple, it compounded his money at a staggering pace.
It was one of the reason why they made deals with SK in the first place, it was to capture it's full potential and make money along the way. If that type of man was opting out and even paying penalties, there was only one possibility- he got a better deal from someone else.
" Alright, but just do me one favour as a parting gift. Tell me who I am up against? Is someone holding a grudge against my company or it was a pure coincidence?" Joon asked bluntly. If there was someone gunning for his company, he had to know about it to make preparations.
" Since we had a great partnership I will tell you this. It's connected to your oldest son."
" What? Did he offend you-"
" Take it as you wish but I will advise you not to lose yourself caring for your lackluster offspring and don't even try to look for anymore trouble. It's much more dangerous than you or I. Just keep your head down and recognize when you are beaten." He hung up the phone leaving Joon unable to say anything.
Joon Woo didn't understand what he was about to tell him but he knew from his serious tone that it was something serious. For now, he could only hope for the best and be much more vigilant in the future.
" Will it be fine sir? From my analysis, SK had much more potential." The person who handed him the phone said.
" Maybe, but who my daughter teamed up with might be more daring than we imagine."
" He is a Rothschild afterall, they are a- unusual bunch."
" Who do you think going to win, my son or my daughter?"
" I can't answer Sir."
" Looking at your face, I already know who you are waiting for. But for me, I hope my son inherits my business." Saying it he turned away from him.
His subordinate knew that his boss was done talking. He promptly said goodbye leaving the old man to drown in his thoughts again.
