" Three more companies had been listed on the New york stock exchange this past month. There was some fluctuation in the beginning but after few weeks, their stock prices have stabilize. The projection is somewhere around..." Manan started listing off key points.
Samuel thought about keeping all his subsidiaries private but after some thought it wasn't fair to eat up the market alone. It would only cause more jealousy from other big sharks. He went through several rounds of funding to appease these entity.
He still had full control of these companies but some profit shares would go the investors. They were just tip of the iceberg under his business conglomerate as he would never list any crucial industry on the market.
Manan then listed off recent performances of their fund accounts. The Achilles firm built their reputation as an investment firm so it was only normal to give these funds their full support even if they made several folds profit in recent years and didn't need any outside funding for it.
" Our profits have already peaked following the financial crisis when we leveraged the downtrend to maximum raking in insane amount of profits. We were providing around twenty percent return which made us target for criticism because it is not a sustainable number but we did deliver on it." Manan paused and looked at Samuel who didn't seem to be paying much attention on his report.
" But now that it is over we have lowered the expectation to our original margins which made many customers angry at our service. Despite it's clearly stated in our terms and condition they demanded we revert it back to twenty percent."
" Did you?" Samuel asked. Experience the excitement on m_vl_em_p_yr
" We can't. We won't be left with any profit if we continued to give it away. Even if we set the margin at ten or twelve at first, they wouldn't have queued in to invest. That's why-"
" It's fine. I only did that as a publicity stunt. It's their fault for not reading the conditions clearly."
" That's true, many people decided to withdraw their funds which made us lose about forty percent of our customer base." Manan thought Samuel would be angry but he only smiled.
" Yes, we won't be short on the funds for quite a while now. You might want to talk to other department to see how they were doing but I have complied a short version report for you." Abigail handed him some documents. He would read it with leisure because there didn't seem to be anything important that needed his urgent attention.
" Good."
" Alright, the reason why I called you is that we were able to close the deal on the WMG group. You are now the proud owner of the label company, you just have to sign here."
" Already?" It's hadn't be that long since he acquired the ZY recordings, with this deal he would be able to unleash the next phase of his plan merging the two companies under a single umbrella.
" After the pressure you put on the Newhouse, he was itching to get you off his back. He already intended to sell the company and having a good deal fall into his lap was his blessing."
" I don't think he would think it as a blessing. He could have gotten about three billion for it on open market but we were able to drop down the price to two and half." He knew for a fact that it sold for more than three billion if he didn't interfere.
" Either way, it was a full payment deal. In this economy having that amount of liquid asset is best for a entertainment conglomerate." Abigail was right. She started telling him more about it as they began discussing about the merger.
It would take several more months of hiring new people also acquiring existing talent so that the company could run smoothly during transfer.
" Right, since we are on the topic of music. I want you to rent a good studio after the Christmas."
" Studio? Recording Studio? Didn't we already have one?"
" ZY is too public. I want a secluded place without any disturbance. Also I don't want anyone finding out what I am going to do inside so make sure it remains anonymous." Samuel was planning a surprise for Adele.
