"Because of you, countless monsters have crossed over here. If the heroes hadn't shown up in time to stop them, there would have been many civilian casualties."

Approaching the monster slowly, I saw it step back, maybe realizing that fighting back would only make things worse.

I chuckled as I introduced myself.

The monster clicked its tongue and glared at me.

Its eyes were filled with such murderous intent that I wondered if it could kill me with just a glance. If I let my guard down even a little, it might pounce and kill me.

Lee Hye-Yung's insistence on being close to me was actually an interrogation to determine if I was a monster. She didn't come to me because she liked me in the first place.

I was just a pawn in her game all along.

"I see. You didn't really want to be with me."

One of them checked on the magical girl's condition, while the other two looked at me warily and curiously.

They scrutinized every aspect of my appearance—my horns, my eyes, every part that marked me as a monster.

It felt like being scrutinized in a zoo, like an exotic animal on display.

"So, what do you think we should do with this monster? Should we kill it right away?"

"Well, we don't know what kind of powers it might have, so maybe that's the safest option for now. It's our duty as heroes to deal with monsters, isn't it?"

"Ms. Hye-Rim, what do you think we should do?"

The three people who had followed me were heroes, unlike the magical girl. Their immediate reaction was to kill me on the spot.

They're heroes, and it's their duty to slay monsters. It's only natural that they see me as something that needs to be destroyed.
