Confrontation
Lian Jing deliberately emphasized the words, ‘little boyfriend’.
He looked at Meng Heng. His viper-like gaze made one shiver.
However, Meng Heng looked back at him fearlessly and ignored him completely. He sat on Shen Yin’s right and personally unscrewed a bottle of fruit juice. “Sister, drink some of this. It will take away the bitterness in your mouth.”
“How do you know her mouth is bitter?” Lian Jing’s hands were on his lap and he cracked his knuckles. His eyes darkened when he thought of her soft lips.
“Of course I know.” Meng Heng said it very naturally. Shen Yin hurriedly nudged him, but it made it seem like she was flirting.
Lian Jing leaned back in his chair and heaved a sigh of relief. He no longer felt worried when he heard Meng Heng’s words.
These words were meant to provoke him. Of course he could see through this trick.
He was just a kid.
“I didn’t realize that you liked younger ones.” Lian Jing gave Shen Yin a sideways glance, his eyes secretly warning her that if she said anything that did not suit him, he would immediately shut her up.
In his favorite way.
“Don’t talk nonsense. Meng Heng is just my colleague.” Shen Yin ignored Lian Jing’s implied meaning. She had a terrible headache now and did not want to be sandwiched between the two of them. She simply responded to Lian Jing’s words.
When Meng Heng heard this, disappointment flashed across his eyes. Then, he composed himself and stuffed a piece of candy into Shen Yin’s mouth. “Sister, try this.”
Shen Yin did not know whether to laugh or cry as she sucked on the candy. The more difficulties this child faced, the more resilient he grew.
Lian Jing suddenly sat up straight. When he saw Shen Yin’s cheeks bulge as she chewed on the candy, he said viciously, “Miss Shen, you’ve found a good man. Your son will have a considerate stepfather.”
“Son?” Meng Heng looked at Shen Yin in surprise. He could not believe that Shen Yin had a son at such a young age.
“That’s right. I do have a six-year-old son, so Meng Heng, don’t waste your energy on me.” Shen Yin knew that she would have to say this sooner or later, but she had never found the right opportunity. Now that Lian Jing had said it, she might as well seize the opportunity.
Meng Heng looked at Shen Yin in a daze. Then, he placed the bag of snacks next to her legs and said softly, “I’m sorry, Sister. I have to think about it. Can you give me some time?”
“You should go back.” Shen Yin sighed. She was used to men distancing themselves from her when they found out she had a child. She did not mind.
After Meng Heng left, Lian Jing placed his palm in front of Shen Yin’s mouth and ordered sternly, “Spit it out.”
“Where?” Shen Yin looked at him in disbelief.
Lian Jing said nothing. Instead, he looked at his palm. His meaning was self-evident.
Shen Yin tentatively spat the entire chewed up candy into Lian Jing’s hand. Her eyes widened with curiosity as she waited for his reaction.
To her surprise, Lian Jing did not even frown. His mood had improved after seeing how obedient she was, and successfully chasing away his rival.
He stood up and calmly walked into the bathroom. A moment later, he sat back down with a calm expression. He looked at the snacks by her legs and said unhappily, “Children are children. What are you eating these for? I’ll get the secretary to send a meal over.”
Shen Yin was stunned by his actions. She estimated that the drip would take at least another hour, so she did not refuse.
“You’re quite obedient when you’re sick.” Lian Jing leaned lazily back in his chair and looked at the woman beside him with an unreadable expression.
Shen Yin looked back at him curiously. “Don’t tell me you came down specially when you saw Meng Heng and I?”
“How is that possible? Are you saying I’m jealous?” Lian Jing denied it and quickly found another excuse. “It’s Grandpa who wants to see you.”
Shen Yin nodded in understanding. She was about to speak when she was interrupted by the ringing of Lian Jing’s cell phone.
Lian Jing picked up the phone, and a woman’s cooing and coquettish voice immediately rang out between them.
“President Lian, why won’t Director Mo let me play the female lead anymore? I’ve been preparing for this role for a long time. Why was it suddenly changed?” Yun Shan complained pitifully. She knew very well that the only person who could touch her was Lian Jing.
Lian Jing, who had always protected her, must have suddenly attacked because she had angered him over the incident with the reporters.
