Matchmaking
Shen Yin backed away and refused without thinking. “I can feed myself.”
“Cut the crap.” Lian Jing waved aside her hand when she reached out to take the spoon, and put it resolutely by her mouth.
Shen Yin closed her eyes and took a bite from his hand.
She could have continued to reject him, but after all this time and only having had some porridge for lunch, her stomach was growling with hunger as the fragrance of the meat filled her nostrils. Seeing that he was determined, she miraculously went along with him.
After finally finishing the meal, Shen Yin’s drip bag was finally empty.
The nurse came over and gently pulled out the needles. She also reminded her to rest when she got home. Before she left, she looked at Lian Jing enviously. “Your husband is so good to you. All of us saw it. You’re so blessed.”
Shen Yin smiled awkwardly and turned around to glare at Lian Jing, who was looking smug about something.
“Let’s go.” Lian Jing threw away the takeout boxes and walked over to take Shen Yin’s hand.
“I can walk on my own.” Shen Yin turned her back. She had almost recovered after the two bottles of medicine had been intravenously delivered into her body. Now, she had regained her usual composure. She glanced at Lian Jing, who was rooted to the spot, and said sarcastically, “Do you really think of yourself as my husband?”
This woman was really ruthless!
Lian Jing turned around, displeased. He was not afraid that Shen Yin would secretly run away. Even if she dared to run, he would definitely capture her!
“Grandpa, I’ve brought her.” Lian Jing knocked on the door of the ward and looked at his grandfather, who was lying in bed, his complexion now rosy. He pointed to the stubborn woman behind him.
“Oh it’s you.” Old Master waved an affable hand. “Good girl, come here. I have you to thank for my life.”
“It’s nothing. Old Master, you don’t have to place so much importance on it.” Shen Yin obediently stepped forward. Judging by the Old Master’s complexion, she knew that he was out of danger and would be discharged soon.
The old man smiled and held her hand. He said apologetically, “I heard that Little Jing made things difficult for you. I’m really sorry. Ah Jing was rash and offended my benefactor. Feel free to make any requests. I’ll promise to fulfill them.”
“I’m not asking for anything.” Shen Yin looked up at him seriously. “I saved you for the sake of my own conscience, not for any reward. As for Lian Jing…”
She looked back at him thoughtfully, then turned back to smile at him again. “He took care of me today when I was sick. And he has already apologized to me. We’re even. I won’t pursue the matter.”
Took care? Apologized?
The old man looked incredulously at Lian Jing, who was standing at the doorway. His Little Jing had always been arrogant. When had he ever taken care of anyone? He had even learned to apologize to others?
His gaze that was directed at Shen Yin grew even kinder. The more he looked at her, the more he liked her.
This girl was beautiful, kind-hearted, and could control Lian Jing. She was really the best candidate for a granddaughter-in-law.
“Oh, what a coincidence. This is the female celebrity that Lian Jing brought home to spend the night? Have you brought her to meet the Old Master?” Lian’e sized up Shen Yin with a smile. Lian’e grew even more disdainful when she saw how seductive the other woman looked.
Wanton women like her relied on climbing into men’s beds to succeed. A woman like that, whose future was in a man’s bed, actually wanted to marry into the Lian family? Was she even worthy?
The Old Master had been thinking of match-making Lian Jing and Shen Yin. But now his heart sank.
Lian’e’s words were really inopportune. If Shen Yin found out about Lian Jing’s mess, his dream of an ideal granddaughter-in-law would be ruined.
“Don’t talk nonsense. What female celebrity?” Old Master denied it on Lian Jing’s behalf, then hurriedly prevented Lian’e from speaking anymore. “This is the benefactor who saved me!”
Instead, Shen Yin looked at Lian Jing playfully. He had denied any relationship with Yun Shan, but he had actually brought her home to spend the night?
Seeing Shen Yin looking at him like that, Lian Jing knew that she believed his aunt. He said angrily, “What’s with that look? I’ve explained to you that there’s nothing going on between me and that woman.”
Explain?
Lian’e’s eyes widened as she looked back and forth between Shen Yin and Lian Jing. Lian Jing had actually explained to someone?
Could this be Lian Jing’s real girlfriend? Why did she not know about it?
“I’ve also said that whatever relationship you have with her is none of my business.” Shen Yin turned her head away from him angrily. “Old Master, I’ve already said that I don’t expect anything in return. Can I leave now?”
