Shen Yin only smiled faintly at her question. “Liang Wei, we police officers are just doing our job to understand the situation. I hope you can understand and cooperate with us.”

“We didn’t really have any feelings for each other. At least, that’s how I felt about him.” Liang Wei leaned back in her chair and shrugged her shoulders casually. “If he wasn’t so generous and willing to give me money, I wouldn’t have agreed to be with a boring man like him.”

Shen Yin raised her eyebrows without surprise. “He liked you very much, right?”

Liang Wei nodded. “He pursued me for more than a year. I only entertained him because I pitied him.”

Zou Sheng did not seem to like a girl like Liang Wei. He frowned and could not help but interrupt, “Then do you know what emotional entanglements he has? Has he told you about his family?”

“His family?” Liang Wei suddenly laughed and said, “Who cares about his family matters? I’ve never seen a university student whose family won’t allow him to go out with his girlfriend. Who knows what his family’s situation is like? Perhaps his family is poor. I’m not sure. Anyway, all I wanted was his money.”

Shen Yin and Zou Sheng looked at each other and saw the suspicion in each other’s eyes.

She could not get anything else from Liang Wei. Shen Yin got up, thanked the teacher, and left the school with Zou Sheng.

After getting into the car, Zou Sheng fastened his seatbelt and asked in confusion, “Sister, are children so strictly governed these days? My mother would be overjoyed if knew that I had gone out with my girlfriend.”

Shen Yin teased him with a smile. “Then when will you bring a daughter-in-law back for Auntie?”

“It’s not that easy. In our line of work, you have to be on call. You don’t have time to keep your girlfriend company at all.” Zou Sheng complained as he drove. Then, he blinked curiously. “Sister, do you have anyone you like?”

Shen Yin suddenly thought of Lian Jing. She instantly blushed when she thought of the brief kiss in the car that morning. She lowered her eyes and hurriedly shook her head. “No.”

Zou Sheng was focused on driving and did not have the time to study her expression.

When he heard this, he hurriedly began recommend his good friend Meng Heng, but Shen Yin interrupted him. “How’s the investigation going on the captain’s side?”

Since the conversation had turned to official matters, Zou Sheng immediately said seriously, “The results of the DNA comparison are out. We’ve confirmed that the deceased is Lu Feng. We’ll just go back to the police station and wait for the news. The captain and Meng Heng will come back to meet us after they find out about the situation at the victim’s house.”

Shen Yin nodded. No wonder Team Three had the best record of solving cases in the entire bureau. They were organized and did not miss anything.

When Shen Yin and Zou Sheng returned to the office, a few criminal police officers were gathered at the door.

“What are you all doing here?” Zou Sheng walked over curiously.

When the police officers saw them return, they immediately made way for them. Their eyes were filled with envy. “Dr. Shen, your boyfriend is too good to you. He sent you so much food and even bought food for your colleagues in the police station.”

“Boyfriend?” Zou Sheng walked into the office in confusion. He was completely shocked by the various snacks piled up on the desk in front of him. “What’s going on? Sister, this is Zixiang Pavilion’s signature dim sum! I can’t even bear to buy a box. Who’s so generous to give you so many boxes!”

“And these? They’re worth at least five digits, right?” Zou Sheng turned around in disbelief and looked at Shen Yin, who was standing at the door and refusing to come in. “Sister, is this from the man who drove the Maserati?”

Shen Yin wordlessly held her forehead and walked over to the cardboard box in the corner. She reached out to pick up the letter on it. She thought she would see something that would make her blush and her heart race, to her surprise there were only a few large characters. “Little Meng Heng this is for you, from Shen Yin’s boyfriend.”

“This is blatant provocation! Little Meng will be furious if he sees this!” Zou Sheng quickly snatched the note and was about to tear it up when he heard a soft cough from the door.

Meng Heng walked in with a calm expression. He glanced at the words on the note and looked at Shen Yin with a bright smile. “He sent things to the police station with such fanfare. Sister must be very troubled, right? Don’t worry, I’ll help Sister get rid of these irritating things.”
