Li Zi frowned and looked at him unhappily. She blurted out, “Disgusting.”

She had often heard about this man from Shen Yin, but she had only seen photos of him.

When she was with Shen Yin in the past, Shen Yin could not stop talking about Lu Chen. Her heart was filled with this man.

However, Li Zi did not have a good impression of Lu Chen. Once, they had a gathering, and the people sitting at their table were very curious about the man Shen Yin kept talking about, so they urged her to call him and ask him to come over to have fun with them.

But after the man answered the call, he coldly reprimanded Shen Yin for calling him so late at night and affecting his rest. Then, he hung up the phone, not caring that he had embarrassed Shen Yin.

Shen Yin had been very embarrassed at that gathering. After that, people who were close to her mocked her behind her back, causing Li Zi to look down on Lu Chen.

When Lu Chen later forced Shen Yin to get a divorce, she grew to hate this man from the bottom of her heart.

Yin Yin was such a wonderful person. It was bad enough that he did not cherish her, but he even got the shameless Yun Shan to humiliate Shen Yin, and plotted to get her pregnant with a stranger’s child. She had suffered alone overseas for so many years.

When Lu Chen heard her say that about him, his expression instantly turned extremely ugly. However, he wanted to achieve his goal so he held in his temper and said, “Don’t be a busybody. I only want to ask you, is Shen Yin also in the hospital?”

Li Zi raised her eyebrows in disgust. “It’s none of your business. I advise you not to bother Shen Yin anymore. Her current boyfriend is powerful and influential. Killing you would be as easy as crushing an ant.”

“She has a boyfriend?” Lu Chen suddenly asked through gritted teeth.

Li Zi raised her head proudly. “Of course. He’s much more outstanding than you! You’d better know your limits and not go asking for trouble!”

With that, Li Zi pulled Fang Cheng into the car and left without looking back.

The reason why she did not say Lian Jing’s name was because she could tell that Lian Jing and Shen Yin were not officially in a relationship. If that shameless Lu Chen really went to confront Lian Jing, it would be a slap to Shen Yin’s face if Lian Jing did not acknowledge her.

In the car, Li Zi was in a good mood after scolding the scumbag. She even said generously, “I’m in a good mood now. I’ll treat you to dinner tonight.”

Fang Cheng tactfully did not ask any questions. He smiled and said, “Okay, what shall we eat?”

Li Zi’s eyes lit up. “Let’s go have hotpot!”

“Why do I smell hotpot?”

In the ward, Shen Yin wrinkled her nose and sniffed around in surprise.

“I know. Mommy must want to eat hotpot!” Shen Nian opened the thermos mischievously. It was still the standard three dishes and one soup.

“Sick people can’t eat spicy food.” Lian Jing placed today’s plain porridge in front of her sternly.

He was about to raise his hand to feed her when Shen Yin hurriedly picked up the bowl. “My wrist is much better today. I can feed myself.”

Lian Jing grunted heavily and pulled Shen Nian up. “Then we’re leaving.”

Shen Yin was stunned. “Nian Nian, aren’t you eating with me?”

Shen Nian smiled and said, “This was specially made for Mommy. I’ll go home and eat. Mommy has to be good. I’ll come and see you tomorrow.”

Shen Yin reluctantly watched the two men leave. Suddenly, she could not taste the food anymore. The food was so fragrant, but she had lost her appetite.

She ate just to fill her stomach then curled up and lay down. Her eyes were unfocused as she looked ahead, secretly reflecting on whether she was too dependent on Nian Nian.

She sighed and her mood suddenly plummeted.

In other families, the sons relied on their mothers, but she was so disappointing. If she could not bear to part with Nian Nian, it meant that she might have to stay with Nian Nian in the Lian residence forever.

However, she had no legitimate reason to be there. If Lian Jing did not want to marry her, she would just be asking for trouble.

This would not do.

Shen Yin’s gaze gradually became resolute. Even if Lian Jing treated her well now, as long as she had no status in the Lian family, she would always be an outsider. She had to be prepared to leave at any time.
