Zhao Mei glared at him and said hatefully, “That bastard brought Tan Li to a cocktail party for school leaders, then behaved inappropriately towards her.”
Meng Heng asked doubtfully, “How do you know all this?”
Zhao Mei grew agitated. She put down her cup and said angrily, “Xiao Li was afraid and called me that night!”
It was midsummer and the weather was hot. Tan Li often liked to wear white dresses. The long skirt swirled around her ankles as she walked, rippling with every graceful step that she took.
Wang Gang followed the rules and patrolled the corridor to check on each class. When he passed Class Five, he saw Tan Li gently writing on the blackboard. His heart skipped a beat.
Tan Li noticed him from the corner of her eye and nodded at him with a smile.
Wang Gang was overjoyed. When the bell rang, he called Tan Li into the office and enthusiastically asked her to sit down.
Tan Li nervously sat opposite Wang Gang and asked carefully, “Dean, what’s the matter? I have to go to Class Two for the next class.”
“I know. Don’t worry, it’s good news.” Wang Gang smiled as he looked at Tan Li’s beautiful face. He liked her even more, and his voice was filled with infatuation. “Little Li, among the new teachers in our school, you have the most potential. I think you shouldn’t be limited to teaching.”
Tan Li asked in confusion, “You mean you want to transfer me out of my teaching post?”
Tan Li could tell that something was amiss. She grew a little anxious. “Dean, I don’t want to leave. I really like teaching languages.”
“Calm down.” Wang Gang smiled comfortingly. “What I mean is that I want to add to your responsibilities. This will be beneficial to your promotion and evaluation in the future.”
When Tan Li heard her superior’s affirmation, she immediately said happily, “Really? Thank you, Dean.”
Seeing that his prey had taken the bait, Wang Gang relaxed and leaned back in his chair. He smiled and said alluringly, “Don’t thank me. You still have to fight for the opportunity yourself.”
Seeing Tan Li’s puzzled expression, Wang Gang knew that this young lady who had just graduated was inexperienced in the ways of the world. As long as he was generous and gave her more benefits, she would become his sooner or later.
He smiled confidently and said, “There’s an exchange for teachers from the various schools tonight. Come with me. It will be a learning experience.”
“Alright, thank you, Dean.” Tan Li agreed immediately. She was in a good mood all day because of her superior’s high regard for her.
That night, Tan Li dressed carefully and got into Wang Gang’s car. She followed Wang Gang to the so-called event and then realized that something was wrong.
The exchange was actually held in a private room in a hotel. The male teachers at the table had drunk too much and had lost all inhibition. They looked greedily at Tan Li, who was the only female in the room.
Tan Li was about to get up and leave in fear, but Wang Gang pushed her back into her chair and comforted her in a low voice, “Don’t worry, you’re here with me. They won’t dare to do anything to you.”
Although he said that, he refused to let go of Tan Li’s hand.
Tan Li struggled slightly but failed to break free. She looked at Wang Gang pleadingly. “Dean, I’m not feeling well. Why don’t you let me go home?”
“Home?” Wang Gang’s kind expression changed. His jowls jiggled and he looked rather aggressive. “I brought you here to drink. If you finish the wine, that will please the school leaders. You will naturally have a bright future.”
Tan Li still felt that it was inappropriate and shyly refused, “But I don’t know how to drink.”
Wang Gang ignored her resistance and poured a glass of wine for Tan Li. “Drink it. There’s nothing wrong with drinking a little wine. If you finish it, I’ll promote you tomorrow.”
Tan Li struggled a little. Seeing that the commotion was gradually attracting the attention of the others, Wang Gang immediately lowered his voice. He spoke into her ear, warning her in a displeased tone, “If you don’t listen to me, I’ll abandon you here. Then you’ll have to bear the consequences of whatever happens to you!”
Tan Li bit her lower lip in humiliation. She looked fearfully at the men at her table who were staring at her. She steeled her heart and drank her first glass of wine.
But when it comes to drinking, one is never allowed to just have one drink.
When Wang Gang saw Tan Li’s face turn red and her wits gradually grow hazy, he impatiently hugged her around her waist and kissed her on the cheek, causing the other men to laugh.
Wang Gang was no longer in the mood to care about those people. He placed one of Tan Li’s arms around his shoulder and held her waist with his other hand. Then, he carried her to the private room on the third floor.
He threw Tan Li onto the bed and anxiously pulled off his tie. He straddled her and reached out to pull down the zipper on Tan Li’s skirt. However, his cell phone rang.
Seeing that it was a call from his superior, Wang Gang was furious and rushed to the bathroom to answer the call.
The ringtone shocked Tan Li into consciousness. It took her a while to react. She was lying on a hotel bed, and the zipper at her waist was half undone.
