“How dare you! How dare you offend us!” The man with the taser glared fiercely and smacked the scar-faced man’s cheek. “How much were you going to extort from him?”

The scar-faced man endured the humiliation and turned his face away. He said angrily, “What does it have to do with you?”

“Hey, you guys borrowed my place and still dare to be so arrogant?” A few hooligans tied the four kidnappers together with ropes and glanced smugly at Shen Yin, who was tied to the chair beside them. “Little girl, tell me, how much money did they extort from your family?”

Shen Yin was not naive enough to think that these people were here to avenge her. They were probably here to take advantage of her and kill anyone who had seen the white powder!

She gritted her teeth and said calmly, “My family is not rich and can’t pay the ransom. However, that person over there is the family’s favorite. You can ask her.”

Shen Luo glared at her resentfully. She had not expected Shen Yin to do this to her. These criminals were obviously more vicious than those stupid kidnappers, but Shen Yin actually told them that Shen Luo could afford the ransom!

The hooligan grew interested. He walked closer to Shen Luo and stared at her face lecherously. His big hand stroked her face repeatedly. “Little girl, is what she said true?”

The scar-faced man smiled bitterly as blood flowed from his lips. “Yes, she fooled us. We didn’t know her identity. Let us go quickly. If we join forces now, we might be able to escape.”

The hooligan suddenly let go of his collar and looked at his watch. Only then did he realize that the appointed time to meet his boss had long passed. He was afraid that things were not looking good over there.

In a moment of desperation, the hooligan suddenly pulled out a dagger and placed it at Shen Yin’s neck. “You can only blame yourself for being too good at causing trouble. You police have captured so many of our brothers. If we can’t escape, we’ll perish together today!”

“Who’s there?” The hooligan held the knife in his hand and stuffed a rag into Shen Yin’s mouth. Then, he hid behind the door and closed his eyes to steady his breathing.

The noise outside the door was not obvious, but it was exceptionally clear in this office which was so quiet that one could hear a pin drop.

Shen Yin suddenly blinked as if she had sensed something. Her intuition told her that the person who would suddenly appear to save her was Lian Jing.
