Subjugation and Rakain (5)
“If this assumption is actually true…… It’ll be up to me to finish it—from the perspective of the blood of the same Suin tribe.”
A bitter smile began to spread across Kergel’s mouth. Heinez then looked at him with a stiffened expression.
If this was truly what had been said just now, it might prove to be difficult to predict how the situation would eventually develop in the future.
An ancient Suin tribe with abilities that were far more superior than that of man.
It had already been just a forgotten existence, but they were still aware of how great the power of the Suin tribe truly was.
Just like the power of the Emperor who was right in front of him.
To prevent it all, there had been a ‘companion’ and ‘magic tools’ were necessary as well.
However, there was not a single trace of the ancient Suin tribe who had actually formed a group.
It was utterly terrible just to imagine it. After seeing Heinez’s expression had hardened coldly, Kergel smirked and simply opened his mouth again.
“So, I’ll go there myself. I will have to see it with my own two eyes.”
“……All right then, Your Majesty. I will get everything ready right away.”
Heinez could no longer object to what he had said and eventually answered with a gentle bow.

“Empress, please take some rest.”
Even after Roelin had returned to her bedroom with Lucy, she just couldn’t sit comfortably and relax as she began to roam around the room before someone else had opened their mouth to her. Then, Roelin paused as she finally realized that she was still pacing around, so she slowly approached the sofa next to her and took a seat.
As if she had been waiting, Silloa right away offered a cup of fragrant tea to Roelin. Perhaps both of them had been keeping their eyes on her out of concern.
“Thank you, Silloa. And I’m sorry to the both of you.”
“No, Empress.”
“How can you say that, Your Majesty? We’re just doing what we have to do. However, I’m still worried about Your Majesty because you seemed so nervous.”
Silloa chattered on as if to compensate for all the time when she had kept her mouth shut. Knowing the fact that they were all words of concern for her own self, Roelin did not bother to stop Silloa’s incessant chatter.
In fact, listening to her going on and on also helped in easing her nervousness.
‘It shouldn’t be a very big deal.’
Roelin muttered to herself and immediately opened her mouth to Lucy when Silloa’s chatters had finally stopped.
“I’d like you to find out what’s going on in the frontier, Lucy.”
“What? Are you talking about near the Samalta Mountains?”
Lucy opened her eyes wide and asked Roelin. Roelin nodded to her question, then continued once more.
“I heard that the damage was great earlier, but I need to understand the situation in detail and provide help accordingly. Of course, the Imperial Family will also issue some support.”
“Is Your Majesty going to help them separately?”
“Yes, I’m going to use the budget that has been allocated to the Empress.”
Roelin answered Lucy’s question with a nod as if it was all very natural. But it was actually never something to take for granted.
The support for those who got affected was originally to be provided by the Imperial Palace anyway. It meant that the Empress had no specific obligation to take care of it all separately.
However, Roelin said that she would not hesitate to help them at all. She hadn’t even spent much of the Empress’s budget for herself so far too.
‘How could Her Majesty be so kind?’
Lucy bowed deeply in admiration to show her courtesy.
“We will find out about the status of the changes in a short while.”
“Please, Lucy.”
After repeatedly imploring Lucy, Roelin took a sip of the tea that Silloa had just provided.
Perhaps due to the fragrant smell of the tea, her mind became much more comfortable. Of course, that didn’t mean that the woes or worries had disappeared at all.
Nevertheless, she thought that she wouldn’t have to just be weakly worried. She was no longer a cover Princess that had been trapped within the Separate Palace in an abandoned state.
Empress of the Seroif Empire.
Kergel’s companion.
That had been who she was right now.
She wanted to be of some help to Kergel, even if it was going to be a very small thing. She wanted to be the right person for him.
So, she pressed down her nervousness and gathered up all her courage.
First of all, she would do what she truly could.
“Whoa…”
After taking a deep breath, she deliberately straightened her back. And the moment she tried to lift the tea cup once more, she heard a maid speaking out from outside the bedroom.
“His Majesty is here, Empress.”
“……!”
Roelin put down her teacup and hurriedly stood up. Then, she approached the door almost at the same time as it had opened.
“Kergel, is everything okay……”
She approached Kergel and asked, but when she saw him, she couldn’t speak any more.
Kergel’s outfit was absolutely different from usual. He was all armed up as if he was leaving to go to war somewhere.
“Sorry, Roelin. I couldn’t keep with what I promised you tonight.”
When Kergel saw her face stiffened, he opened his mouth with an apologetic face. Roelin shook her head at his apology.
“No, you don’t have to apologize like that. By any chance, are you going there? I heard that a bunch of monsters had just emerged……”
“Yes. I thought that I’d better go there myself.”
“……”
It might be dangerous. Roelin swallowed the words that she was trying to speak out without even realizing it and bit her lips instead.
