Chapter 64 - Inviting in the demon

Feeling her hand on his, he turned around and sat beside her on the bed, with the belief that she needed something.

"What is it?" he asked.

Clara let go of his hand get in a sitting position. She moved closer to him and wrapped her hands around his neck, hugging him tightly and began crying.

Leo blink continuously at the contact, before returning to his senses after hearing her cries. "Are you okay?" he asked.

"Don't hate me please. I.. I  can't live without you either. I really miss you, I miss you so much.

I'm just pretending to be strong, but I'm not strong at all. Everything is just a facade.

Without you I'm nothing, so please don't hate me, forgive me please. What I did was all for your sake Sonya, I didn't want you to get hurt, because you're all I have.

I know I don't have the right to do that to you but I have no choice, I can't let you get hurt because of me." Clara snuggle her head in his neckline and kept pouring out her heart, while crying out loud.

Leo's heart was beating maniacally, feeling like it will flew out of his chest at any moment from now.

Those words were not meant for him in the end, but the beginning of it has made him nearly lost his sense of reasoning.

He pulled her back slowly and cupped her chin in his hands and gaze intensely into her teary eyes, that only make them more alluring as the green hue seem to add some glow to them, thanks to the tears.

For that brief moment, Clara manage to see that the person in front of her isn't Sonya, "it's you." she said, but before she could say another word, Leo leaned and closed in on her lips.

...

A rumbling sound from above, makes Gregory look up at the sky that has suddenly changes. The clouds turned gloomy as lightning line emerge and disappear.

Within a few minutes of the changes, it started to rain. The rain falling hard, making everyone walking on the road took to their heels, surprised by the sudden pour.

"She's sad," Gregory muttered, but find it unlikely, as it's rare for the guardians to show their full emotions, as they always seem calm as if they got everything under wraps.

The last time this happened was the day before Clara mother summon him.

Gregory has no idea, but it was when Clara's mother killed a demon who killed her other piece, and it turns out to be her husband.

"Well, that makes the two of us," Gregory said as he watched the rain got heavier and heavier, without any intention of stopping anytime soon.

He would have mocked Clara right now, but couldn't, as he just suffered a loss and not in the mood for mockery. He had no idea what saddened the guardian when she just killed someone precious to him, but didn't care either.

Then all of a sudden, the door opened and Sonya poke out her head out, "just get the hell inside, or you might catch a cold." she said.

Sonya has been feeling restless since the thunder began playing its soundtrack. She didn't have the heart to let a fellow human being stay outside, under such weather condition.

Gregory was stunned. He felt that this woman's soul would be delicious, he was tempted to suck it out of her, but where's the the fun if this gem get dispose of so fast?

He was also surprised by how Clara seem to be making everything easy for him.

Sonya seem determined not to let him in, and Clara sadness change her mind, it was Clara would foolishly led him to Sonya in the first place as well.

Gregory smiled and walked inside the house, while Sonya was shocked and couldn't believe her eyes.

"What the heck! you are not wet? aren't you in the rain just now?" Sonya in surprise, as she stares at Gregory from head to toe.

She was putting on a pink pajamas, hair tied in a bun, with a fashion head band around her head to keep her bang up.

"It's not normal rain, and her sadness has nothing to do with me love," Gregory replied, smiling brightly at her.
