Chapter 221 - There's nothing to forgive

Leo has friends as well, and they always respect each other's decisions.

If they make this kind of decision Clara made on behalf of Sonya for him, he will never be able to get over the hurt, and might even stay far away from them.

If a friend couldn't share their pains and worries with each other, then he sees no reason why they are friends. He believed that everything in life is not just about the happy moments we share, there are bound to be sad ones too.

"I'm sorry." Clara said as she cried louder, while Leo patted her back. He stroked it soothingly, yet his words were not soothing but reality.

"Make her understand that when she wakes up." Leo said he does not plan to be biased because Clara is his woman.

He believes that Clara needed to learn from her mistake. If he makes her believe she wasn't that wrong, she might try something like that in the future when a situation like that arose again.

"You got yourself a good man." Sonya's voice was heard. She has been listening to them for quite a while now, she just didn't open her eyes.

Clara's entire being froze for a second, "Sonya!" She called and quickly turned around towards her.

She moved closer and held Sonya's arm

"You are awake." She said in a low tone.

Leo felt like the third wheel, but he felt like Clara needed him there, because Sonya did not even open her eyes to look at Clara.

Sonya slowly moved her hand away from Clara's own. "You know what? Aside from the fact that I begged you not to take those memories, which you cruelly did, you actually lied to me for almost twenty years of our knowing each other.

Why do you friend me when you do not trust me? You know I'd do anything for you." She said, with tears dropping at the corner of her eyes.

Everything rushed back. The memories of how she took her memories were clear now.

"I'm so sorry. I thought it's best not to drag you in my mess then. That was why I did it to keep you safe." Clara replied in a low tone, as she tried to hold back from crying again.

"What? Mess? Your f.u.c.k.i.n.g life has always been a mess. My damn life has always been a mess. Have we ever fought or complained to each other about it?

We helped each other pull through it, and you suddenly felt like making such a decision for me? how friendly of you!" Sonya growled and Clara's heart skipped.

She choked up in tears again and began whimpering, while Leo's heart tightened. He clenched his fist, knowing now is not the right time to pull Clara into a hug and sooth her pain.

The one in pain right now is Sonya and Clara's part was regret.

Hearing Clara burst loudly into tears, Sonya got angry and finally opened her eyes. "You don't get to f.u.c.k.i.n.g cry, so shut….." her eyes widened when she saw Clara's head, looking all smooth and as white as her skin.

"What happened to your hair?" She asked and quickly got up into a sitting position. She reached out her hand and touched her scalp to make sure she's not imagining things.

To make sure the demon blood in her wasn't making her hallucinating.

Clara looked up at her worried expression and felt her heart melt. She decided to take advantage of the situation and hopefully get to hold her.

"Can I hug you?" She asked shamelessly.

"How did this happen to you?" Sonya asked, ignoring her question.

A deep frown marred her expression and the protective friend mode was activated. She's someone that would do anything for Clara and if someone did this one purpose, she's ready to put aside the whole dispute between them and go get revenge for her.

Leo breathed a sigh of relief as he saw the expression on Sonya's face. He was scared for Clara because he could see that Sonya does have some kind of hot temper, but now he could see the love and care she has for her friend through her expression.

Even though she was so hurt, it was obvious that Clara meant the world to her.

"It's related to this guardian stuff." Clara said.

"Are you hurt?" Sonya asked.

"I'm fine, it's just the hair." Clara replied.

Sonya heaved a sigh of relief, "it's good to hear." She said, standing up from the bed.

"Have you forgiven me?" Clara asked.

Leo felt his head hurt at her question. 'His woman is so so dumb.' He thought. If forgiveness was that easy, what's the point of getting angry in the first place?

Especially someone with Sonya's personality. It's obvious that she's someone that will still love you but still wouldn't let the matter go so easily because she felt so hurt from it.

"There is nothing to forgive." Sonya replied. She got down from the bed and couldn't wait to leave.

She didn't hate her but seeing her right now, her chest hurt so much.

She looked around and realized that she was under the roof that they spent their childhood and even half their teen.

She bit down on her lower lip and started making her say to the door.

"Where are you going?" Clara asked as Sonya was making her way out of the house.

"Do I have to stay? I'm all good now, thanks for your concern." Sonya said, turning back to look at her and finally get to see Leo.

Her eyes brightened. "Wow! You got yourself a big catch." She added, while staring at Leo for a while, before turning to leave again.

She recalled seeing Leo on the television when working for Gregory and how she felt weird when she saw Clara. She couldn't help but scoffed.

Leo is super wealthy and also her former boss.

Clara ran after her and held her arm," are you still angry with me?" She asked.
