「Oh, no, if you’re fine, then it’s nothing…」
Rofas-san sighed a breath of relief and staggered over to an empty seat at the table.
「Still, if an S-ranked adventurer like Rofas-san was out of breath, then something scary must’ve happened.」
「Well, when I got to the intermediate dungeon, I heard that there was a lot of smoke coming from the potion field, so…」
Eh? So he rushed back because he was worried about us?
Rofas-san combed up the hair hanging off of his forehead and attempted to fix his disheveled hair.
His facial expression showed how relieved he was. He started smiling as he tried to catch his breath.
「You’re amazing, Rofas-san! We’re a few hours away from the intermediate dungeon, but you ran all the way here!」
Kurtz-kun’s eyes glittered in respect.
「I’m quite tired now, as expected.」
Although Rofas-san said he was tired, he didn’t try to shoot down Kurtz-kun’s compliment.
「Sorry for making you worry. We had been smoking some meat, so that’s where all the smoke came from.」
Bryce-kun lowered his head in apology.
「Smoking? Actually, what’s going on here?」
Now that Rofas-san had calmed down, he looked at all the dishes lined up on the table.
「Um, you see, Yuuri-oneechan is cooking for us!」
Kirika-chan said. Rofas-san looked over at me.
I served a piece of the kakuni onto a plate and handed it to Rofas-san.
「To be correct, everyone is cooking with me. Please try some, if you’d like.」
「Oh, uhh, thank you. I’ve never seen any of these dishes before. I see, everyone made it together.」
Rofas-san pierced the pork kakuni with a fork.
「Uwah, is this really meat? It’s so soft!」
The fork pierced through the kakuni and clashed against the plate.
「Pft, Kurtz-kun said the same thing.」
Rofas-san’s actions were the same, down to the fork hitting the plate. It wouldn’t be strange if they were parent and child.
「It’s tasty.」
The moment he put the entire chunk of kakuni into his mouth, he looked delighted.
That made me happy.
「Can I have some more?」
「Of course.」
「Rofas-san, please try it together with the “bad wheat”, instead of bread.」
Bryce-kun scooped some rice into a bowl and handed it to Rofas-san.
「Bad wheat? Don’t tell me you guys ran out of stock for bread and potatoes? Sorry, I’ll replenish it as soon as I can.」
Rofas-san looked sorry.
「No, we still have a lot, but the bad wheat tastes better.」
Kurtz-kun explained, causing Rofas-san to look down at the bowl of rice.
「Isn’t this a strange way of eating it? Does the wheat taste better if you don’t turn them into bread?」
Rofas-san scooped some rice with his fork and ate it.
「I see now. The appearance is strange, but it certainly doesn’t taste bad. No, it actually tastes quite good if you mix it with the broth!」
Rofas-san poured the sauce that the kakuni simmered in on top of the rice and ate it that way. If he was at a beef bowl restaurant, he’d be the type to order a beef bowl with more sauce!
Ah, I might be able to make beef bowls now too. Okay, if I get my hands on some beef-like meat, I’ll make it. I wonder if I could get some wine? I could make it with cooking sake, but I wanted to make it with wine.
Meanwhile, Rofas-san silently stood up, refilled his bowl of rice, poured some broth on top, and then devoured all of it together with the kakuni.
「Ahh!! Rofas-san is eating everything! Kirika was planning to have seconds!」
「Oh, sorry, it’s just that it tastes so good, so… Huh?」
Rofas-san began shaking his head slightly.
「Um, is something the matter?」
「I didn’t drink any potions, but for some reason I feel like my energy’s returning.」
Ah, so he noticed too.
「There are potions in this, you know? They were used to season the dish.」
「What?!」
Rofas-san slammed his hands against the table and stood up.
「How much did you guys put in?! Everyone, stop eating now. Yuuri, you probably don’t know this, but drinking too much potion can poison you.」
「Eh, really? I-I’m sorry, I really didn’t know…」
What have I done?!
