I scooped up a mouthful of soup and drank it.
Mm, it’s not chicken, but the flavors are good.
Bryce-kun’s eyes went wide once he tasted the soup.
「This is amazing.」
Then, the door swung open, making a loud noise.
「I’m home! I’m starving, food please!」
It was Rofas-san.
He said that as soon as he came home. It felt a little strange, since he sounded like a high school boy coming home, like the ones in Japanese drama.
「You didn’t help though.」
Kirika-chan pointed out to Rofas-san without a moment’s delay.
「No, see, I did help. Look at this. I caught some ingredients for you all.」
Rofas-san unloaded the luggage he was carrying on his back.
「Gyah!」
I accidentally let out an ugly scream.
The bundle that I had thought was luggage was actually a small wild boar.
「Rofas-san! We are eating right now! Please take it outside!」
I have no interest in looking at a corpse while eating! Now to mention, there’s probably a ton of things floating around the fur, and those could get into the food. Geez!
Rofas-san then went outside, dejectedly.
「I’ll take care of it after dinner. It’s probably still a little difficult for the three of you to do it, right?」
Bryce-kun said. I nodded in agreement.
「Thank you. Oh, I know, maybe I’ll try making pork bone soup next time.」
「Pork bone soup?」
It should be possible to make soup from wild boar bones as well. I saw it at some festival back in Japan. They weren’t selling pork bone broth ramen, but boar bone broth ramen.
It should be fine to assume that it’s made the same way as the chicken soup, right?
Ahh, but there’s still a lot of chicken soup left, so if we make pork bone soup, we’ll never finish it all. There’s no fridge here either, so we can’t refrigerate them.
Also, once tomorrow comes, it’ll only be me, Kurtz-kun, and Kirika-chan left here…
「No, nevermind. I’ll tell you about it another time.」
「Ahh, I’m so hungry.」
Rofas-san came back.
I hurriedly scooped out some soup for Rofas-san and placed the dish on the table. The soup was still quite warm, so I didn’t have to reheat it yet.
「Here you go. Kurtz-kun helped me make this soup. That’s why it came out so well.」
The moment I placed the dish down, Rofas-san grabbed it with both hands and drank the soup in one go.
「Delicious! More please!」
「Eh? Ah, okay.」
I ended up taking the plate from him, but he drank while standing. I have to warn him not to do that, since it’s considered bad manners.
「Kurtz, you helped make this, huh? It’s great. You’re amazing, Kurtz.」
Rofas-san said with a big smile, and began patting Kurtz-kun’s head. But Rofas-san, your manners… well, it’s okay. I’ll let it go for today.
「Hehe. All I did was help out a little. Yuuri-neechan is the amazing one.」
Contrary to what he said, Kurtz-kun looked delighted.
「Kirika helped too. Look, Kirika made those! Rofas-san, try them!」
Kirika-chan held out the yaki-onigiri she made towards Rofas-san.
The yaki-onigiri were shaped weirdly, but Kirkia-chan put a lot of effort into making them with her small hands.
「Wow, that’s great, Kirika. These look delicious.」
Ah.
「Wait!」
Rofas-san grabbed one and was about to eat it, but I stopped him.
That’s right, I completely forgot about it.
We used soy sauce in the yaki-onigiri.
Soy sauce gives out a defense buff, if I remember correctly.
The chicken soup that Rofas-san drank first didn’t use any soy sauce, luckily.
「We have to confirm the effects of the potions. We need to see if there’s a difference between the ones Kirika-chan made and the ones I made.」
「Oh, I see. Status open. Oh, the effects from the soup appeared already. There’s a buff on my HP. Man, the recovery speed is so fast.」
Those are the effects from the cooking sake and the ginger ale.
「Okay, I’m going to try Kirika’s.」
Rofas-san ate Kirika-chan’s yaki-onigiri in one bite. What a big mouth.
No, maybe the yaki-onigiri that Kirika-chan made was too small?
「It tastes so good. Kirika, you’re a genius. Can I have another one?」
「Ehehe. There’s a lot, so you can keep eating them.」
Kirika-chan held out more yaki-onigiri towards Rofas-san.
Fufu.
Joy, delight, and happiness. There were all sorts of expressions here.
Food by itself can bring out this sort of wonderful moment. How mysterious. Ehehe. I also felt joy, delight, and happiness.
