"Facility Expansion"

“Facility Expansion”
A few days after deciding to support the orphanage, I was visiting it again. Over the past few days, I had taught the children how to do their work, and things were beginning to take shape.
In the meantime, I had set up five golems to guard the orphanage, in order to preemptively deal with any possible problems that might arise in the future. These golems were combat-type golems that could move semi-permanently by capturing magic power floating in the air.
This would allow the orphanage to deal to some extent with any thieves who come after the Magic Chamomile or Yarn Mite yarn that we grew at the orphanage. Even if they managed to escape through the golem’s surveillance, they would not be able to escape my pursuit. What awaits them was either the netherworld or hell. …both mean the same thing?
As for the high-end Magic Chamomile and Yarn Mite yarns, I was not able to add any new items to them and was continuing to teach them to become accustomed to the work as it is. As for the vegetable fields, I would like to start with potatoes, radishes, cabbage, and lettuce, which were relatively easy to grow, and then add tomatoes, carrots, and peppers as they became accustomed to them.
In addition to that, I wanted them to be self-sufficient in the production of wheat, which was necessary to make flour, the raw material for bread, their staple food, so they had also started a wheat field in the available space on the property where there was still plenty of room to grow wheat.
“Today, maybe I should do some water enhancements.”
This time, I would be working on building water-related facilities so that water could be secured without me having to use water magic to produce water. The ideal way to manage the orphanage would be to rely on my magic only at the beginning and eventually be able to manage the orphanage without using my power.
As a foothold to achieve this goal, I was thinking of building two facilities first, a well and a bath. The well could be made relatively easily by digging a vein of water underground, but the problem was the bath. In modern times, it was possible to store water in a bathtub and easily turn it into hot water with a convenient machine called a water heater, but if this were to be done without using electronic devices, hot springs would still be necessary.
However, there were no active volcanoes in the vicinity of the capital, and there was no underground water flowing near the lava, so it was impossible to secure hot spring water. If this was the case, what would be done? There was only one answer.
“I guess I’ll have to build a system that turns groundwater into hot water and uses that as hot water for the baths.”
If there were no hot water springs nearby, the only way would be to create a mechanism to raise the temperature of the groundwater to the proper temperature for bathing with a magic stone or something in the process of bringing the groundwater directly to the bathtub and use that as the hot water for the bath.
“Okay, let’s start by creating a well.”
I started digging a well to secure water, but even if I just dug in the dark, I could not reach the underground water vein that runs through the ground. However, it seemed that my Sense Manipulation enabled me to detect not only the presence of living things, but also inorganic objects such as these, and within a few minutes, I found an underground water vein.
However, there was a slight problem: the location of the underground water vein. It seemed that the underground water was located 2,000 meters below the ground, and it was necessary to dig down to that spot.
Normally, it would be too deep to dig by hand, but with my earth magic, I could get there in a matter of minutes. So, let’s get started.
“First, I need to create a place to frame the well, and then I can start digging down from there.”
The first step was to build a frame to form a circular well made of stone, and then dig down to a depth of four meters in the shape of a one-meter fifty-centimeter cylinder. Normally, I would have liked to set the depth to 10 meters or more, but since the people using the well were children and women, I made it as deep as possible so that they would not be injured even if they fell into the well and so that the well would function as a well.
However, since the well would not be pumped directly from the well, but rather a pump would be built to pump the water indirectly, the lid of the well would remain closed at all times.
Once there, I asked all the children present to stay back because it was dangerous, and then I jumped down to the bottom of the well. Once I reached the bottom of the well, I magically dug a hole about 20 centimeters in diameter toward 2,000 meters underground from there.
The hole was blocked in places by solid bedrock, but my magic was so powerful that the digging proceeded smoothly, and at last, I reached the underground water vein.
“Oh, shit, evacuate!”
When we reached the underground water vein, the ground began to shake with a gurgling sound. I knew that this was it, and as soon as I moved out of the well, water began to overflow from the well with great force, like a fountain. The suddenness of the water startled me and the children present, but the force of the water soon subsided and the well filled with water in the blink of an eye.
Once the well was completed, a mechanism was built to draw water from the sides of the bottom portion and pump it up using a hand pump, thus completing the well.
Next was the creation of the bath, which I wanted to set up as close to the orphanage as possible, so I chose a location that was relatively close to the orphanage, even though it was available. Then, we dug an underground water vein from a different location and filled the water into an open-air bathtub made from the rock we had created before digging the second underground water vein. Incidentally, that underground water was brought to the bathtub using a pipe made of wood that looked like it had been split in half lengthwise.
“It’s just, this is just a water bath.”
Since the bathtub was not a bath but a water bath like those found in saunas, a mechanism was created to change the water into hot water using a magic stone on the way to the bathtub. The mechanism was also designed to be semi-permanent by utilizing the magical power in the air.
The final step was to create a drainage channel at the bottom to dispose of the hot water, and the bath was complete. In the meantime, two separate baths for men and women were built for guests and for the children when they grow up, and separate places for changing clothes and so on were also provided.
After filling the bathtub with hot water for a trial, I myself washed my body to make sure, and then got into the bath, an avalanche of children noticed something was wrong and came running in, causing a bit of a commotion. Lelianne and Isha noticed it right away and saved the day, but the children had to take a bath together because they were all soiled from working in the fields and so on.
As a side note, I was in the men’s bath, so I was in a separate bath from Isha, but Isha, who had somehow managed to break into the men’s bath to wash my back as a token of his gratitude for the day’s work. However, she was quickly taken to the women’s bath by Lelianne. That was a close call… By the way, I should add that she was wearing a towel so I didn’t see the whole thing.
