~ Fahren’s POV ~

“Fuu, we’ve finally arrived.”

After a long journey of ten days, we finally arrived at the royal capital. The purpose of our visit was to meet an adventurer. His name was Rolando, and he looked like an ordinary boy, but he had a mysterious air of elegance about him.

The first time I met him was when I was attacked by bandits. There were more bandits than guards and I was prepared to die because I was outnumbered. But just when it looked like it was going to end badly, he appeared.

Then one day, an unprecedented crisis occurred: demons attacked Orargrand. While the people were in fear and despair, the demons were repelled by a single adventurer. That adventurer was him.

I tried to guide him to the royal capital, where an adventurer he knew also came forward to guide him, but there was a dangerous woman there. I felt intuitive that this was a woman who could eventually become my obstacle.

While I was doing this, before I knew it, he had left for the royal capital. I had to go after him, but I could not leave immediately because the journey would be dangerous on the way.

So I sent a request for an escort to the adventurer party to which the woman belongs. According to what I had heard, they were A-rank adventurers, so their abilities were impeccable. They were planning to follow Rolando-sama to the royal capital, so they accepted my request as a good fit.

On the way to the capital, I got information about the woman and learned that she was his disciple. After listening to various stories, I realized that she was a woman not to be underestimated.

So I finally arrived at the royal capital and came here to meet him.

My name’s Kukko Laurier, and I served the glorious Duke of Rosenberg as a knight.

My role was to protect Lady Fahren, the daughter of the Rosenberg family, from those who would seek to harm her.

I realized that I had developed an attraction to him as a member of the opposite sex, and my heart beat faster and I felt suffocated when I thought about him. But strangely enough, it felt good, and just between you and me, I did things in bed at night while thinking about him.

However, it seemed that Fahren-sama was having the same thoughts as me, and I noticed that her eyes were filled with melancholy as she muttered the boy’s name.

As her escort knight, I wanted to support her in her love affair with the man of her dreams, but as a woman who loves the same man, I was torn between two conflicting feelings: I could not honestly support her in her love.

Then suddenly, Orargrand was attacked by a demon race and was on the verge of a crisis, but only one adventurer was able to save the day. When I learned that it was the boy, Rolando, I was more pleased than surprised.

As a person who had been in a battle to find out if the man I liked was such a man, and above all as a woman, I was happy that someone had achieved so much as if I had taken the credit for it.

When Fahren-sama heard that the boy had been invited to visit the royal capital in recognition of his achievements, she decided to help guide the boy to the capital, but other adventurers who knew the boy thought the same thing as well.

One of them was an ugly female adventurer, but there was no doubt in my mind that she had a face with extraordinary feelings for the boy. As soon as our eyes met, she and I must have thought to ourselves, “This person is an enemy.”

While we were arguing like that, before we knew it, the boy was heading for the royal capital. Naturally, I had to chase after him, but I alone would not be able to hold him off if I was attacked with violence in numbers as before. I heard that the adventurer party she belonged to was ranked A, so Fahren-sama decided to ask them to escort us to the royal capital.

And I investigated the woman on the road, but she was still an enemy. Every word she said and every action she took indicated that she was planning to do something nefarious with the boy, so much so that even I, a person of the same sex, was taken aback.

I concluded that I had to keep a close watch on her, and finally, we arrived at the royal capital ten days later.

My name is Maylene. I considered myself a first-class adventurer, currently active as a rank-A adventurer.
