Chapter 217: Plan Set In Motion

To prepare for this, numerous expensive merchandise were brought and prepared. The item that had the most care and value were the accessories and clothing that the queen would be wearing at the birthday banduqet, but there were also numerous carts filled with carpets with highest quality silk that changes color according to the light it catches, as well as tapestries and yarn used for knitting all the way from Chrichten prepared specially for the queen.

However, before all of them could be put inside the palace, it must first go through strict process.

“I am Chris, from Orban Merchants.”

After the merchant discloses their affiliation as well as their name, a full body search is done immediately after. The items that they’ve brought would also go through strict search as well. Everyone looked annoyed seeing how it was going to be tougher to get inside there than to enter the palace front gates. It looked like they were willing to search even a single ant among their merchandise.

“Please go inside.”

After the long search is complete, they are given the permission to go inside the queen’s palace. Once inside, they would follow the maid’s instruction to move to the reception room and then they would meet the queen directly.

Leticia was mixed in among them. She dyed her hair black and changed her skin color with make up, as well as made changes to her facial features. After donning the merchantile clothing, she looked quite the part. Although at first she was very skeptical that she will be able to sneak into the palace at the first place, but the words that ‘the man’ had said to her turned out to be quite true.

He informed her that no one will suspect that a wanted criminal on the chase would walk into the palace themselves. On top of that, the guards were more focused on whether the people that arrived have dangerous weapons or anything strange among the merchandise they brought that they didn’t care much about their appearances. Therefore Leticia was extremely nervous as she entered inside the palace grounds, but after coming all the way to the queen’s palace, she felt somewhat more relaxed.

“You all wait here.”

The representative merchants entered the reception room. The lower level employees on the same level as Leticia were ordered to stand by in the designated places while holding onto remaining merchandise. While moving to that location, Leticia sneaked around the gazes of the maids and snuck off to a different place. She then moved to the location that she confirmed beforehand on a map and hid herself there, waiting. As she waited, she pulled out a small knife that was hidden within the ball of yarn that she was holding.

Now, the only thing left was for her to wait for the queen to come by and just stab her with this knife.

The place that Leticia was hiding in was one side of the corridor where one part was a small round recess she can hid herself in. With the curtain covering her, Leticia waited for the queen the pass by. Not long after, she heard footsteps approaching. Leticia saw that the queen and a few maids were walking together down the corrider having a few light laughs.

Seeing the queen, Leticia was once again filled with rage. She was not in a fashionable state. She was wearing boring clothing that looked like everyday wear, and her hair was simply let down without any accessories on it. Even so, she stood out among the numerous maids that surrounded her. Anyone would be able to realize who the queen was among this group of women. It was as if she was exuding an elegant aura around her as if she was a royal family that was born and raised here all along.

That made Leticia become insanely angry. Even though she’s been this broken and left dirty, that woman was still in a noble and beautiful state.

Leticia gripped hard on the knife that she held in her hand. In anycase, everything was going according to plan. She had entered the palace as per plan, and just as the information she received beforehand, the queen was walking down this corridor to get to the reception room.

Leticia waited inside the deep recess off the wall, and once they started to walk by right next to her, she opened up the curtain. And just as she was about to dash into the queen right at that moment, someone came from behind her and grabbed Leticia.
