Chapter 225: Forgiveness?

If there was one thing that changed the most in this life, that was her father’s death, thought Rihannan. Since the man who had been alive and healthy up to the moment she died was now dead ahead of her. She believed that he would stubbornly try to live as long as he could, but had only died because Rihannan had changed the past.

But what if, his death was also something that happened in the previous life as well?

“…He wasn’t.”

He lowered his gaze as he avoided her eyes.

“Not long after you died, your father had passed away as well.”

“Why…”

Rihannan stood up from her seat. If she is to leave tomorrow immediately, there were a lot of things to prepare.

“Then as you said, I will be leaving tomor…”

Igor grabbed Rihannan’s wrist. As Rihannan stared at him with surprised eyes, he slowly let go of her hand. Every time she saw him do this kind of thing, she became even more confused.

Even though she learned that the Igor of the past and the current Igor was the same person, the two still seemed extremely different to each other. Just where did that man who’d gaze at her with contempt in his eyes every time he looked at her and spat poisonous words go?

“… What I said last time wasn’t sincere.”

“What are you…”

“I do not wish for you to leave this nation while leaving your child behind. What I wish for is for both you and the baby to stay by my side. The reason why I made that statement previously was because I thought I had to stop you from leaving my side in any way possible.”

Hearing his sudden confession hit her, Rihannan couldn’t find any retort to form in her mind. In her mind she thought about how she didn’t want to be by his side at all, and that the very moments that she is together with him in any situation sickens her to her stomach, but in the end she couldn’t get any of those thoughts out of her mind.

As Rihannan kept her mouth shut, Igor nodded slightly and stood up from his chair.

“Please don’t mind what I said just then. We’ll talk again once you return from the royal villa.”

He then quickly left the room. Staring at the door that was tightly closed, she felt her strength leaving her body as she slumped onto the chair. Just what is his true feelings about her? If the reason why he had been treating her so nicely this whole time wasn’t because he had a different ulterior motive, then is he truly wishing to be pardoned for what he had done, even though it was completely late? Was that why he had done all these things?

But that would be true deceit and selfines from his part if that was the truth. There was nothing that he could ever do to be forgiven for what he had done in the past. There’s no way he could fix the completely ruined relationship they have had.

“I will never forgive you.”
