Chapter 258: Preparing In Advance

In the past week that Igor was protecting Rihannan, she had been eating well and sleeping well. Thanks to that, her complexion became better and even her weight increased a bit as well. On the other hand, it was obvious how Igor was becoming more emancipated over time. Seeing as how he was always awake whenever she opened her eyes, she was definitely sure that he hasn’t slept properly for a long time.

“I don’t wish to eat anything right now… More than that, is it okay for you to be here like this?”

Igor tilted his head in confusion hearing Rihannan’s question.

“What do you mean by that?”

“I’m asking if it’s okay for you to stay here like this for so long without taking care of the nation’s problems.”

Hearing her worries, he gave a light laughter.

“Rihannan, this whole time I had put in many effort in order to make sure that nothing will go out of hand if something sudden were to happen to me. I didn’t wish for the past to repeat after all. There is no problem at all even if I don’t take care of those things for a week.”

“What happens when something happens to you?”

“First, it would split into two circ*mstances, whether you still have your child or not.” Igor lowered his eyes as he continued explaining, “I’ve prepared it so that if you didn’t have a child and wanted to, you would be able to leave this country right away. Whether it’s Chrichton or somewhere else, Basil will take you there.”

“And if I were to still have my child in that case?”

“If you have your child, then the moment I can no longer make any decisions for the nation, you shall become the highest arbiter of the country right away. I’ve written a will so that my mother won’t be able to lay her hand on you, and a list of nobles that willa*sist you as well as the child has already been set as well. On top of that, just like how Basil has helped me this whole time, he would also help you out into the future as well. He’s the most talented person out of everyone, as well as the most dependable one after all.”

In the past, the moment Igor lost consciousness, all the political power of the nation was immediately given over to the queen mother. Therefore, Rihannan couldn’t do anything against the queen mother’s scheme to frame her. It seemed that he had done this preparation because of that fact.

“…I see.” Rihannan didn’t think that he would have made preparation this far. She realized that he was looking much further into the future than she had expected him to. “…Did the queen mother say anything about me?”

Rihannan had yelled at the queen mother about numerous things even though the queen mother definitely has no memories of what had happened in the previous life. For the queen mother, she would have certainly confused by what Rihannan was saying. She may even be thinking that Rihannan had gone crazy.

“It seems that she just thinks that you had lost your senses for a moment due to the shock of being kidnapped. Since she thinks that you only said those things while completely confused and deranged, you won’t need to worry about it too much.”

Rihannan then finally realized why he was so angered when he heard about how she had gone to the royal villa without telling him in the past. Since he knew everything that had happened in the previous life, he must have wanted to stop Rihannan from ever getting close to the queen mother ever again.

“And what will happen to Leticia now?”

Igor’s expression became immediately dark. Seeing as how he kept silent, Rihannan spoke up again to Igor.

“It’s fine, just tell me. I need to know about this anyways.”

“While you were regaining your strength, the trial continued.”

Igor found it hard to open his mouth again to continue speaking.

“For the crimes she had committed in the past as well as two attempts at your life, she has been sentenced to death. If Count Clobis had given testimony it would have taken longer to admit evidence, but there had been plenty enough evidence thanks to her being caught previously, and therefore the trial ended quickly. Soon, she will be executed by beheading.”
