Chapter 407: There’s an Evil Spirit Here
Boom!
Screee!
The bird screeched as countless attacks trailed after it, landing on it from time to time. The bird’s injuries were slowly accumulating as Velcorn used his Healing Artifact to the limit, constantly healing it while replenishing his Origin Essence.
This was the reason it was still alive.
“He’s escaping towards the Folkan Secret Realm!” Two Martial Origin Stage experts shouted as they rode their flying type Martial Spirits, chasing after him, unleashing attributed attacks towards him.
The attacks streaked across the air, creating resounding booms while the bird used its Martial Providence Stage power to constantly ward off all attacks, preventing any Martial Origin Stage experts from approaching them.
“It’s here…” Velcorn muttered, noticing the Secret Realm’s entrance nearby, causing the bird to accelerate towards when suddenly, the air around him seared, paling his face.
“Dammit!” He hurriedly took out a priceless Artifact that he had obtained in a chance encounter before, condensing a barrier on his body, noticing his surroundings resemble a sea of flames now, rapidly melting the bird’s body.
Even a Martial Providence Stage Origin Beast died with a single attack. But coincidentally, it seemed to have absorbed most of the power behind the attack, suddenly causing a minor explosion that sent him flying into the Secret Realm entrance.
As his protective barrier shattered, Velcorn gazed at the figure of the red-haired man that had attacked him, “I remember you now. Wash your neck and wait. I’ll slaughter everyone when I return!”
Boom!
A firebird slammed into him, failing to touch him as he had entered the Secret Realm that prevented anyone or anything beyond the Origin Refinement Stage from entering, thereby thwarting the terrifying attack.
“Haah…hah…fuck!” Velcorn lay down on the ground after he had been teleported to a random location within the Folkan Secret Realm, sighing as noticed the severe burn marks on his body, relying on his healing Artifact to heal himself.
“Dammit, I wasted a lot of life saving treasures because of this.” He cursed in anger, slamming the ground, “This is all Compass Carburettor’s fault!”
“When I find you, I’ll kill you first!” He gritted his teeth, taking out Essence Stones to replenish his expended Origin Essence, slowly gathering his bearings. He began to move out once he completed his preparations, resting a little until his condition reached an optimal level.
He slowly made his way through the region, eventually noticing some cultivators walking further before him, observing a massive cylindrical building farther into the distance.
And it was at this moment, when he joined the crowd to enter the building to reap some benefits did he hear about a couple of nearby cultivators talk about an idiot that had attempted a breakthrough prematurely.
And upon hearing their discussion, he was curious about this fool, following the direction they were pointing towards to see a certain individual riding atop a Claw Wolf.
His skin was jet-black, riddled with what resembled stars that blinked as he moved. Covering atop it were a set of normal cultivator clothes that covered most of his body. And finally, the most unnerving feeling originated from the deer mask work on his face.
To others, a deer mask wasn’t anything worth concerning about with. But for System Hosts like him, it meant otherwise. After all, the Luck based Systems resembled a deer in appearance. And the fact that someone was wearing a deer mask in this situation only meant one thing to him.
Provocation!
And, there was just one entity capable of doing this as Velcorn’s expression was immediately riddled with wrath, “Compass Carburettor…!”
“So…what kind of Luck are you now?” Compass Carburettor muttered, causing the other party’s expression to resemble a scowl.
But, just when Velcorn planned to target him, Compass Carburettor’s body suddenly began to tremble in fear, pointing at him as his voice resounded with tremendous fluster, “Y-Y-You…You’re an Evil Spirit! EVIL SPIRIT!”
“Evil Spirit?” The cultivators among the crowd immediately heard his shouts, turning around to gaze in the direction Compass Carburettor was pointing towards, noticing the figure of Velcorn.
A certain young master hailing from a prestigious Clan observed Velcorn, having seen the scroll before, eyes widening as he shouted in alarm, “That’s Velcorn, the World Decaying Evil Spirit!”
“The Evil Spirits weren’t just legends?”
“They are real?”
“The World Decaying Evil Spirit…? Why is it here?”
The cultivators clamoured as they hurriedly distanced themselves from Velcorn, encircling him as they gazed at him nervously.
A cultivator tugged the bowstring of his bow-type Artifact, loading an energy arrow on it that he launched towards Velcorn, “Let me test it.”
Swish!
The arrow slammed into the figure of Velcorn that was caught unawares. But in an instant, the arrow simply melted after crashing into the barrier he had erected, surprising everyone.
A lot of cultivators were struggling to even breathe. As everyone here were more or less at the peak of the Origin Refinement Stage, it meant his Heaven Martial Spirit was able to wholly supress them.
Cultivators with Trash Martial Spirits were on the ground, their limbs shivering in fear while Human Martial Spirit cultivators weren’t that better off either.
Only the scant few geniuses with Earth Martial Spirits were fine, enduring the level of suppression Velcorn was emitting.
But surprisingly, Velcorn had been focusing on Compass Carburettor all along, ‘What the heck is this guy planning now?’
He was feeling a bit tense because Compass Carburettor hadn’t attacked even once until now, as if he was waiting for the opportune moment. And for some reason, Velcorn didn’t wish to be the one to strike first, feeling as if he would fall into the trap the moment he did that.
‘I’ll have to grow stronger first.’ He gazed at the tower entrance, rushing into it immediately, enduring the attacks launched by a couple of quick-witted Earth Martial Spirit cultivators that were within striking range.
‘Hmm, I am unable to determine which System is in him yet.’ Compass Carburettor thought, unwilling to waste any time as he rushed into the tower, ‘We’ll decide it inside.’
“I don’t plan on allowing you to grow any further.”
