Chapter 626: Is That…Compass Carburettor?
Slayer began the auction by selling a cheap item. The item, though useful, wasn’t of any significance to the True System Slayers. And those that wished to purchase it didn’t have enough financial power to spend on it.
Therefore, eighty Silver Minda was a paltry sum. But aware of that, Slayer had only put it up to start the auction on a lighter note and also as a means to help the weaker System Slayers.
He then snapped his finger, causing a tiny coin to fall out from the space where the auction items were kept. He observed it, eyes lighting up as he said, “This is a System Fragment originating from the Mechanical Keyboard System at Level 36.”
He looked at others, shaking his head, “It’s not a Core Skill though. You’ll only be able to use this System Fragment once. But, the ability works the best in scientific and showbiz worlds.”
“Starting price is 1 Silver Minda.”
Quite a few expressed their intention to buy it as the price shot up automatically. Soon, it reached a high enough price and was sold. Slayer brought out items one after another, observing the actions of everyone, ‘I should sell the information of some Systems I’ve been collecting. A little push and more will cross Level 50.’
“28 Gold Minda…sold!”
The price of the item reached a high level already as the item was a Pseudo-Relic. Even though it was the most basic among Pseudo-Relics, it was still useful, hence fetching such a high price. Had it been more useful, the veterans would have participated too, causing the price to balloon up even further.
Slayer was just about to bring out one of the highlight items for the auction, something put up by a Level 70 System Slayer when suddenly, he stood up in shock, “What the…?”
After all, the System he had placed in Tehela’s body vanished mysteriously. Only then did he realise what was up, recalling Regriel’s smirk during the final moments of his life. ‘You…were counting on the Main Character all along?’
It was absurd since Slayer had ensured the possibility was nil. After all, just to avoid such a fate, Slayer had purposefully named the Shaman King’s human form Regriel, the first System Host that Compass Carburettor had killed.
This was to take advantage of the Main Character’s fate, luck, etc. and ensure that he wouldn’t come across Gehera or take part in the scheme he had concocted.
He had done the same many times in the past while dealing with the other Main Characters. And hence, he was assured that Compass Carburettor wouldn’t be interfering with his plans. He had been confident in it.
Unfortunately, he hadn’t predicted that Compass Carburettor alone wasn’t the Main Character, but just one of the four that existed. Moreover, unlike the other Main Characters that had active Core Skills, his Core Skill was the power of Lore.
Meaning, Compass Carburettor had the power to dictate and shape his fate as he pleases. This was why Slayer’s subtle preparations didn’t even affect him, causing him to blatantly stumble upon Gehera and become involved in her affairs.
The other Main Characters might have not chanced upon her at all. Or even if they did, Gehera might have been killed by that thug.
And now, he understood that Regriel had been counting on Compass Carburettor all along to save his daughter. After all, if there existed a chance, then only the Main Character had the possibility to go against Slayer.
And this was a fact that Slayer didn’t like. For, going against a tremendously overpowered foe to survive and win eventually was the essence of being the Main Character. Now, he was pushed into becoming that overpowered foe.
Taking this side meant that his defeat was imminent. And hence, he didn’t even hesitate to raise his hand and point at Stencil, unleashing a mystical power that intended to capture her.
‘Since you dare interfere with my plans, don’t blame me for being impolite. You care about your daughter more than everything, right?’ Slayer thought as the mystical power slammed into Stencil, shocking everyone, for they couldn’t understand why Slayer was behaving strangely all of a sudden, attacking one of their own.
But, the thought hadn’t even resounded in their minds fully when the situation changed.
The Dragon Bullet hiding inside Stencil manifested into reality, suddenly covering itself with the same mystical power that Slayer had unleashed.
“What the…? Isn’t that my power?” Slayer was shocked.
The appearance of the Dragon Bullet stunned everyone, for it emerged from Stencil, a newbie System Slayer.
As it had defended her, Stencil got the time to take action, immediately transforming into the Happy-Go-Lucky System to protect herself with all her Luck. This way, she was capable of affecting cause and effect to survive an all-out attack from Slayer.
Boom!
The Dragon Bullet suddenly grew stronger as it transformed into the silhouette of a man who glared at everyone.
“W-What is this?” Wayna was stunned as she sensed her Personal Fragment crying from within in excitement, trembling as it wished to leave her and head to the silhouette.
“This feeling…” Aronaut frowned as he stared at Stencil, eyes widening as he slowly muttered, “I see, it makes sense now.”
“Yaka is actually Stencil in disguise.”
“She’s Stencil?” Faluda exclaimed in surprise, unable to recognise her. He had met Stencil on Earth and as the one that had turned Compass Carburettor into a System Slayer, he felt like he should have been able to recognise her.
But now, he observed Stencil transforming into a System, a Luck System at that, exhibiting its power in its entirety.
Happy-Go-Lucky System—Level 88!
Stencil erupted with tremendous power, suffocating most in the room as Faluda was shocked, ‘How did she become this strong in such a short interval?’
Simultaneously, everyone gazed at the silhouette that had manifested itself around Stencil as the same thought resounded in all their minds, causing them to gulp nervously as their gazes alternated between Slayer and the silhouette, wondering what was happening.
“Is that…Compass Carburettor?”
“He was alive?”
