Chapter 630: We’ve Underestimated Him
“Ahh!” Stencil gasped for breath, flinching as she reeled from the attack Slayer had launched upon her.
“Are you okay? Unhurt?” Compass Carburettor grabbed hold of Stencil the moment the Dragon Bullet brought her by riding on the Mental Energy stream.
“Y-Yeah, it was scary though.” Stencil said, observing her luck to see that she hadn’t expended much, only then noticing the Dragon Bullet that had saved up collapse to the ground, wheezing in response before beginning to rot.
“What’s happening to it?” She was alarmed.
“To counter his attack, I harnessed his power. But despite that, my Dragon Bullet wasn’t able to handle the intensity.” Compass Carburettor said, patting his chest to calm his thumping heart.
The reason he was able to harness Slayer’s power was by turning the fragment of Slayer growing in Tehela’s mind into a Bullet Template. Even though its potency was low, it was still enough to thwart his opponent’s attacks just long enough to escape by riding a Mental Energy stream.
Currently, all six Bullet Templates had been condensed. The first was Stencil’s thoughts related to the Happy-Go-Lucky System, allowing him to shoot bullets containing the Happy-Go-Lucky Luck that acted as a panacea for Stencil.
The second was from a Grandmaster Metal Mage that allowed him to act as such by shooting bullets of Metal Mana. The third was Horan’s thoughts related to a Lightning Mage, allowing him to shoot lightning bullets. The fourth was Sahar Khara’s thoughts, allowing him to shoot fire bullets whose potency was on a Saint’s Level, the strongest he could attack with.
Fifth was Tehela’s thoughts regarding her Immortality. The bullets shot using this allowed him to instantly heal anyone from the brink of death. Moreover, as these thoughts were reinforced by her Pseudo-Relic with the same ability, it was almost on the level of a Saint.
The final Bullet Template was from Slayer. The thoughts forming it originated from when Slayer acted as a Demon, and hence, the power revolved around him being a Principal Arbiter.
This allowed him to shoot bullets that destroyed any restriction or were able to impose one too, the powers of the Principal Arbiter. The best thing about this was that when he infused the power of Lore into these bullets, they were capable of affecting reality on a grander scale.
And now that they had become enemies, Compass Carburettor planned to steal more memories regarding Sayer’s powers as a Principal Arbiter. It perfectly complemented his power of Lore, allowing him to grow stronger, faster.
“Where…did she come from?” Horan was shocked, failing to sense any traces of Space Mana when Stencil appeared suddenly. As he wasn’t able to see the Dragon Bullet, he didn’t know what was up.
In contrast, Gehera was stunned, for even though it was blurry, she was able to see traces of the writhing Dragon Bullet, flinching in response.
“There’s no time left.” Compass Carburettor muttered, sensing a Mental Energy stream directed at him by the Dragon Bullet near Tehela when suddenly, it was cut off.
He frowned in response, recalling the power within the Dragon Bullet as the five System Slayers at level 99 had arrived at the headquarters of the Talon Secret Organisation.
“What the…?” Boznan Burnak was shocked, staring at the five figures that had arrived at the scene.
One of the five, the one that addressed Slayer before, raised her hand, unleashing her power of Witchcraft while pointing at Boznan Burnak, intending to kill him before chasing after Compass Carburettor.
After all, this was a plan they had been working on for centuries already, unwilling to repeat it again. Hence, protecting the Talon Secret Organisation also took priority.
“What?” Suddenly, Saint Calvos and Saint Balvador exclaimed in shock as their bodies turned into straw dolls that collapsed to the floor, burning up in purple fumes.
As for Boznan Burnak and his three guards, their figures too turned into straw dolls and burned up. This time, it was the lady’s turn to be surprised as she frowned, “Witchcraft…”
When she had taken action, her profession itself moved to interfere with her, protecting the other party as they were transported back to the Burnak Kingdom.
Unfortunately for her, the two Birdmen Saints that she had nurtured to head the Talon Secret Organisation too had disappeared along with Boznan Burnak.
“Boznan Burnak…protected by the Witch profession itself.” Her emotions were conflicted for a moment before she looked at one of the five System Slayers, a man with a slender body, “Keel, have you divined his location?”
“Be careful, Balveta.” The System Slayer addressed as Keel said solemnly, having transformed into an Elf as mystical runes flashed around his body, “We’ll lose the moment we develop killing intent against Compass Carburettor. Manipulate yourself into believing that you’re helping him…”
“Scratch that,” He changed his words, “Target his daughter with the intent to kill. That should solve things for us.”
“So, directing killing intent at Compass Carburettor is dangerous. What will happen if we do that, though?” Another System Slayer asked, inspecting the region to see that there were no traps installed there before focusing on Tehela’s severed head.
“Hmm…” Keel frowned as the runes around him revolved faster in response as he said, “All I could divine is that something might happen to our memories. This Main Character is on a whole other level as compared to the previous ones we dealt with. Treat him on the same level as Arnark.”
“Shit,” Balveta gritted her teeth as her wings flapped in fury, “Slayer’s seriously incompetent! I’ve been telling him to not provoke Compass, but he did it in the end anyway.”
“He shouldn’t have used Regriel’s name.” She then arrived before Tehela, staring at her as what she observed morphed, displaying countless curses lingering on Tehela’s skin.
She frowned upon seeing that none of them had been activated, turning serious as her voice became solemn, “Guys, none of the curses I placed on Tehela has taken action. But, Compass Carburettor has definitely interacted with her.”
“This is bad!” She suddenly turned around, exclaiming in alarm, “We’ve underestimated him!”
“Slayer might be in danger.”
